Casa dos Arcos. Perfectly located, charming detached villa, ideal for family holidays. The garden gate opens on to the 18th Fairway of the Royal Golf Course and it is a short walk to the shops, the famous tennis centre (weekly group coaching), the Golf Club with Royal Spa, and the Beach. Built on one level and ideal for all ages, the furniture is traditional and comfortable. It is surrounded by a large garden offering sun and shade and plenty of room for children to play. There is a paved terrace with kidney-shaped private swimming pool, sun loungers with cushions, umbrellas and chairs. The covered verandah with dining table is perfect for sheltered meals at all times, and a secluded roof terrace offers a lovely spot for sunbathing or an evening drink as the sun goes down. We have a fine selection of buckets and spades as well as 2 golf trolleys. This villa feels like a home rather than a letting property.

We are fully Tourist Licensed, now a legal requirement.

There is a children's club, the 'Penguin Club' near the Praca, run by the Meridien Hotel. Please note that the maid service is not available on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Long Winter lets December to March, minimum 4 weeks £500 per week for 2 people.

Excellent Villa in superb location

Had a wonderful stay for 2 weeks combining a family holiday with our grandchildren for the first week with a golf break in the second week. Great communication and support from the English owner before our holiday and it is clear that the experience of guests is important to her. Villa is very clean and as described, lovely grounds and nice pool area. Location is superb within easy walking distance to the Praca, beach, the VdL Clubhouse and Spikes restaurant. Ideal base for Golfers (Discounts available for Golf & VdL amenities), Walkers and those that want a base to tour the area from. Have already re-booked for our next holiday. Thoroughly recommend this villa.

Beautiful villa and gardens

This is a lovely villa and we'd be happy to recommend it to others. We're not golfers or tennis players but appreciated the location as a great base to explore the Algarve. From our perspective, car hire was essential. The property is clean and as described. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time and attention on the garden, which was in full bloom whilst we were there. The pool area and shady verandah are very conducive to a relaxing holiday. I don't believe it states this in the property description, but all British TV channels are available. We never saw the maid, but appreciated her attention whilst we were out and about.

A couple of minor quibbles....

Be prepared for occasional noise. Either from a couple of properties nearby which are in the process of being constructed, or from gardeners with hedge trimmers.

Also, the curtains in the main bedroom are quite thin - a blackout blind would be ideal.

However, as mentioned at the top of this review, this is a fantastic villa in a safe area and attractive location - the next time we visit the Algarve, we'd have no hesitation on returning to this property.

Zoomarine is good but most suited to families with primary school aged children. Lagos and Faro old town are lovely and well worth a visit. Estoi market (2nd Sunday of each month) is off the beaten track and interesting. Our favourite restaurant, and we tried a few, was Spikes Brasserie at the VdL Clubhouse.

A truly relaxing break in the sun

Very comfortable villa. Love the new patio area around the pool, makes such a difference. Had wonderful weather and enjoyed the beach, crazy golf, restaurants and relaxing in the garden, drinks on the roof and even got the BBQ out. Thank you.

Beautiful villa for a relaxing family holiday. Having just returned from the villa, I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who is looking to book in the Vale de Lobo area. The villa is very comfortable and is positioned well for local restaurants as well as the local supermarket.

Very enjoyable holiday, perfect location

Very comfortable villa in a really good location. Easy to get to from the airport (20 mins) and everything you need and want within easy walking distance including a really good supermarket. Resort circuit bus on hand if you've got heavy bags. A range of close restaurants and bars still open, despite being outside peak season. Golf Club spa is only 5 minutes away and had a great range of treatments to indulge in. We had a lovely restful holiday, will definitely return.

Toller Urlaub

Wir waren 6 Frauen, das Haus war genau das Richtige für uns. Es war sehr gut ausgestattet, auch die Küche. Eine Reinigungskraft und ein Gärtner kamen täglich, bis auf Sonntags.Der Swimmingpool wurde mehrmals in der Woche ebenfalls gereinigt. Das Haus liegt mitten in Vale do Lobo, wir konnten zu Fuss zum Strand und zur grossen Tennisanlage.

Zum Einkaufen benötigt man allerdings ein Auto. Wir würden das Haus gern nächstes Jahr wieder buchen.

The villa is situated a 7 minute easy walk to the Beach and Praca shops and restaurants. It is also a similar distance to the restaurants and snack bars at the Golf Club, and Tennis. There are supermarkets in Vale do Lobo and Almancil and it is only a 20 minute drive to the colourful market town of Loule. Car hire is not essential but is recommended in order to access the many local restaurants, golf courses and shops selling local crafts.
