Farmhouse in Burton Bradstock, nr. Bridport, Dorset, England - Listed Farmhouse Village Setting And Only A Few Minutes Walk To The Beach.
Why Robert Browse chose Burton Bradstock
The owners have had a cottage in Burton Bradstock for the last 10 years. They bought Shadrack Dairy Farm in April 2011. It had been empty for over 12 years and became a labour of love to return it to its former glory and restore its place in the village.

A beautiful house in a fabulous location- just perfect!
This house has everything you need. Mark and Robbie have thought of everything! It’s very well equipped, with comfy beds in a quiet location. A great base to explore the amazing beaches and sights nearby.
Wonderful Stay in every respect
This is, I think, the third time that we've stayed at the property. Given that there are lots of places in the world to explore, it speaks volumes that we've returned yet again. The farmhouse is beautifully furnished, well kitted out and spotlessly clean. There's everything you could possibly need, from kitchen equipment to comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The hosts, Mark and Robbie, were excellent communicators both before and during our stay.
Whilst in Burton Bradstock we particularly enjoyed the two local pubs, the excellent beach and walks nearby. We had a great brunch at Rise in West Bay.
I wouldn't hesitate to recomment this property.
Stayed at Shadrack Dairy Farm in early October for a week with family and our two Labradors. Fantastic well maintained farmhouse which has lots of space but is still cosy with original features and charm.. Great secure outdoor space and easy off road parking. 30 yards from nearest of two excellent village pubs and a post office / store, and a pleasant 15 minute walk across fields to the coastal path, beach and cafe.
The owners, Mark and Robbie, who live next door, were welcoming, helpful but unobtrusive.
Will definitely recommend to friends and would be happy to return.

A wonderful stay. The location of is just perfect and the cottage equipped with everything you could need. Highly recommend!
Well maintained, spacious family property
Having enjoyed staying at ‘home from home’ Shadrack Dairy farm for family holidays over the years, we chose Shadrack to celebrate our 60th Wedding Anniversary with our family. The week was perfect from start to finish exceeding all expectations. The village location has two very good pubs, shops and PO, there is also a children’s park complete with outdoor table tennis facility with field and river walks or short drive to Hive Beach (NT car park) with a café and fishing from the beach if wished. A beautiful cliff hotel where cocktails on the terrace before dinner or afternoon tea is highly recommended. It’s also an excellent touring base as the coastal road runs along the outside of the village. So, something for all the family.
Mark and Robbie are the charming, welcoming owners of Shadrack, always on hand if needed but never intrusive. Staying at Shadrack in Burton Bradstock is an absolute delight, we are already looking forward to returning next year. Thank you, Mark and Robbie, for making this year an extra special occasion for all the family.
We stayed the last week in June, with various family members coming and going. and had brilliant weather.
Lovely farmhouse, full of character. It was great having sun-trap patio outside - and we enjoyed a BBQ there - but when that got too hot we were grateful for the lovely cool sitting room. Also the splendid double-aspect master bedroom always kept a good temperature. Cosy, characterful kitchen and dining room.
Wonderful being a stones throw from the PO/farm shop and two good pubs. Also great eateries near the glorious beach.
The friendly owners live next door and were always on hand to help where help was needed - but were never interfering.
Hope to return one day!
