About Mr Philip Payne
We are a professional couple with adult children. We are happy to share our family holiday home retained for holidays and retreat with other families who will care for it as we do,sharing its facilities and splendid location.
Mr Philip Payne purchased this Chalet in 2009
Why Mr Philip Payne chose Salcombe
We bought this property because of our love of the South Hams area. Having dived this coastline for over 20 years and visiting throughout the Spring & Summer months we understood the value of the peace and tranquillity that this location provides and with Salcombe with its attractions and hustle and bustle only 10 minutes away.
What makes this Chalet unique
Our lodge has stunning views over National Trust headlands to the south and to the sea in the west and a large secluded grass area to the side. The South West coastal path is only a short walk as is Soar Mill Cove itself. It really being the hidden treasure of the location. When the other beaches in the area are packed, Soar Mill Cove won’t be. Here you will find clean sand, brilliant for sandcastle making, safe swimming for children, rock pools and streams to explore and all in walking distance from our lodge.

The most amazing location so peaceful, perfect if you like walking ,this property is spotless and has everything you need down to teabags ,lovely rooms , we came to visit friends in Marlborough .
Well kept lodge and site :0)
Really simple to book, lots of information and easy to check in, lodge is contemporary modern with great facilities, and well stocked to host a large dinner round the large dinning table, would definitely return, great 1st family holiday with our 3 year old, especially with friend staying in nearby lodges who all complemented the lodge we were staying in :0)
Very well equipped and maintained
Probably the best equipped holiday home we've stsyed in and evetything vety well maintained
Lovely Stay in very spacious and clean Lodge and in a great location
The lodge had everything for the perfect stay ,we had fantastic weather and only a few minutes walk from the coastal path. The lodge itself is modern , very spacious and was very clean on arrival. We had no issues finding it and the access arrangement was easy/straightforward. The only small disappointment was the welcome card that mentioned the complimentary bottle of wine - there was no bottle to be seen so perhaps the card shouldn’t have been displayed on our arrival if the supply was an issue. This was not a problem as we had brought our own ! Would highly recommend this lodge/property and “Thank you” to the owners for a lovely 4-day half-term break
Everything we could have hoped for
After a long drive We arrived to an impressive , immaculately clean and very spacious lodge. We didn’t expect such a great living space and all the facilities including a complementary bottle of wine on our arrival. The location of the lodge is perfect for views and walks across the coastal Path which are right on your doorstep, Salcombe itself only 10 minutes by car.
It was so peaceful and quiet very easy to relax in its surroundings. The living space was perfect for an evening to chill out.
Philip was brilliant, if there were any questions he would respond quickly to queries.
My only suggestion would be that the bedroom and kitchen windows were able to open. Other than that I couldn’t fault it. I would highly recommend a stay.
Thank you again and hope to visit again soon

The place was clean, modern and very comfortable. We had a bottle of wine to welcome us there.
This has to be one of the most restful breaks that I have experienced. The fantastic view and the surrounding town and coves and the great weather added to the fun and relaxation.
