Superb town house in Benalmadna Costa, situated in a quite & well appointed location named Tambello, translated this means so beautiful we have panoramic sea and mountain views. Sleeps 6. The house is in a modern Spanish residential area & is private to the 12 residents & there guests. It is just a 10 minute walk to the beach, via the well know Avenida las Palmeros (palm tree avenue) walking the same distance inland will you bring you to the beautiful town of Arroyo de la Miel (river of honey) this is a modern town with off shoots of spanish tradition in the cobbled streets & squares, tapas bars and alfresco dining.

Notes on accommodation: We are in a private residential area & there for may not be suitable for groups i. E. Stag/hen parties, strictly no pets, smoking kept to the terraces. Outside: Access to pool. We are south west facing and have all day sunshine, on all three terraces, over looking the pool, & panoramic views of the Mediterranean sea & mountains behind. There is parking front & back, (private road) the pool is open all year round, sunbeds available from Easter to 1st week Nov. Other: Spacious lobby.

Tanbello Benamladena

This property is exactly what we look for when booking self catering. The rooms are large and well presented and there is also good outside veranda space. Jim and Joy are excellent hosts and had plenty of supplies in for us on our arrival, great when you arrive late in the day. They are always on hand for any advice if required. The area is quite quiet although we were there over the New Year period. It is about 15 minutes to walk to the beach and about 10 minutes to get to the train station/town. There are plenty of excellent eating places to cater for all tastes and budgets. Although we always go somewhere different each time we would consider returning to Jim and Joys. I can highly recommend this property.

Loved it

Jim and Joy were so helpful throughout the stay and couldn't do enough.

Apartment was very spacious and we basically lived on the balcony when not out and about or by the pool area which was lovely and never busy.

Easy 10-12 min walk to train station or to many bars and restaurants and 15 walk to beach front.

Relaxing stay with lovely hosts

This was our 3rd stay in this apartment. Part of me is reluctant to put a review as you don' t want all the availability gone! The place is lovely, 2 bed spotlessly clean apartment in a small complex with pool. The apartment is a home away from home and has everything you need. The area is part residential part holiday maker is is ideal for those looking for a quiet relaxing place to stay. It is located a 10 min walk to the beach and is close to many really good and inexpensive restaurants. The owners (Jim & Joy) live below and are so nice and extremely helpful without being intrusive. The take a great pride in the place and want to ensure that everyone has a lovely stay. Once you stay once it is very hard to not return. Thanks again for a lovely holiday,

Our perfect family holiday let

We have been to Jim and joys 3 out of the last 4 years (only missed one due to them being fully booked!) I used to scoff t people holidaying at the same place year on year but since found Tanbello we realise it ticks ALL our boxes.

Jim and Joy are delightful, great hosts, leave a great welcome pack of all the necessities, the house is beautiful, spotlessly clean, fantastically situated, equidistant from beach and the lovely town of Arroyo del la meil 15 minute stroll to either.

The pool is great for a family, the area is safe, clean and picturesque, I cannot recommend this house enough, although I am concerned I may miss my annual slot if it gets more popular.

In finishing, I will mention that on our early morning departure we found all the taxis to be on strike, we panicked that we would be stranded, luckily Jim and Joy were about and he sorted us out and got us to the airport, top bloke, thank you

Amazing accommodation

Jim communicated promptly from the start of our enquiry to our arrival answering any queries we had. And, even recommended who to contact for transfers from the airport at a reasonable cost.

Jim met us on arrival and gave us a tour of the apartment. The fridge was filled with necessary food to save us going shopping on first day. Water was also supplied as well as a few beers & a bottle of wine.

Jim also took the time to advise on how to find our way about.

The images on here don't do the apartment justice. It is clean and tidy and decorated tastefully. It has everything you'll need to cook. But eating out is very reasonable. Towels were supplied as well as beach towels for the pool.

The pool was amazing with someone there each morning to tidy up and maintain the pool.

Basic satellite tv also available and the air con was invaluable.

We enjoyed our stay and can also add it is really quiet which is something we were looking for. Sometimes an apartment looks good but can be in a noisy location so this was a treat for us.

There are two large patios. One in master room upstairs and one at living area with loungers and a large patio table. Delightful for a morning coffee or a drink in the evening and views are amazing.

A few hundred yards from the aparment heading left takes you to a roundabout where you can head right to go to the sea front or, go straight across, walk for about 100 yards, take a left again and at the top of the path go right and you are at the beautiful area of Arroyo de la Miel with lovely bars and restaurants. Tivoli and cable cars and train station are here too. Only a couple of euros to other towns by train.

Try out the City bus tour which you get at the bus stop in front of train station. It's great to find your way around the area if visiting for the first time. You can get off at different locations then back on bus later.

Also try out the Fountain bar & bistro. You may have to ask for directions but worth it when you get there.

Defiantly a great apartment to book and have no hesitation in recommending it. Jim & Joy are delightful hosts.

Just a 10 minute walk down to the beach, where you will find miles of sandy beach in both directions, with all the water sports i.e. paragliding, jetski, banana boat etc, shower & toilet facilities, cafe"s, beach bars.


We are 15 mins from Malaga airport by car, taxi will cost €25 - 30.00, alternately the train is very reliable, every 1/2 hour, & cheap approx €1.50 each way, then you will need a taxi from the train station, €5 - 7.00, pick up maybe arranged, please ask if required.


20/25 minute car ride will take you to the very tourist village of Mijas, nestled in the foot hills of the mountain, with donkeys a beautiful church & square & one of the oldest bull rings in Spain, again stunning views, a great spot to have lunch & a glass! cheers! If you are not drivers, or choose not to drive in Spain, we can arrange these trips & excursions for you, so please ask!

Further Details:

Arroyo de la miel (train station), is 1 mile inland, a 10 minute walk from the house, it is a modern spanish town, alive with shopping, tapas bars & alfresco dinning.

The beautiful award winning Puerto marina is 1/2 hour walk, on your way there you pass our wonderful paloma park, & windmill roundabout. You can walk through the marina and on into Torromolinos, via the main roads & never see a car. In the other direction by car, you have Fingerola 15mins away (also direct train from Arroyo) Marbello is 30 mins, Puerto Banus is 35mins and finally Gibralter is approximately 1hour 20 mins.

Supermarket, mercadona is 6/8mins down hill, at the beginning of palm tree avenue (very good value and traditional foods, suggest weekly shop here) opposite is what we call tesco"s where you will find all things british, great for the odd thing, but expensive. Back on the roundabout you will find a news agents, which sells English news papers.
