Ebb Tide has been recently extended and refurbished. The house is surrounded by farmland and has lovely views across the fields to Tintagel in the distance and the moors beyond, and distant sea views from the first floor. The ground floor of the house has a large open-plan lounge and kitchen/diner which is perfect for family groups, together with a quiet snug / playroom. Outside is a spacious garden laid mainly to lawn with a patio accessed through patio doors from the kitchen. There is parking for up to 3 cars and the gates can be closed to secure the garden area for children. Sorry but we can't take pets.

About Clair Tinney
I'm married to a farmer and live in Gloucestershire with our two young daughters.
Why Clair Tinney chose Tintagel
My brother and his wife and my husband and I bought Ebb Tide a few years ago after looking for years for a cottage in the area. As children we had a cottage in nearby Treknow and our childhood memories are of walking to Trebarwith Strand to spend days on the beach and in the rock pools; amazing walks on the cliffs between Trebarwith and Tintagel; and playing in the garden when the tide was high and we couldn't get onto the beach. We both now have young families and we wanted the same childhood memories for them.
What makes this unique
We spend as much time together there as possible - along with my parents and sister. It's a wonderful house for an extended family and we all come and go as we please - cliffs / beach / garden / pub / house is about all we do, with occasional restocking supplies in Tintagel! For my children the perfect day is a walk to the beach with their cousins, play on the beach and swim in Horse Pool (February to November each year, they're not normally allowed to swim at Christmas!), followed by lunch or at least a hot chocolate at the Port William and a brisk walk back home again! For my husband and I stealing a few quiet days away from the farm with just the four of us is our idea of heaven!

This has been the perfect getaway retreat for us 3 couples. We loved the very spacious lounge-dinging area which was perfect for night socialising and bringing the BBQ'd food in from the garden! Kitchen had all the appliances we needed, and the bedrooms were bright and spacious as well - 3 DOUBLEBEDS! and bunker bedroom..
As for location it is in a very quiet area, a delightful 10 minute walk through fields to Tintagel high street; another 10 minutes to the castle. The high street has a surprising range of pubs and cafes serving great food.
We would recommend this place to any family or group of friends who want a peaceful getaway near pubs, cafes, castle, coast; and who are very sociable!
Thank you! We love it when our guests love it as much as we do! Please come again!
Great Holiday Home
The property is in a great location if you want peace and quiet . It is also just minutes to Tintagel and Trebarwith . The property is well equipt and spacious . Books to read and toys in the snug room if you want to shut yourself away for a while . Always love Cornwall and return every year . First time at this property but would honestly book again .
Very spacious & clean
Perfect for us as we were able to spread all of us about the many bedrooms and with 3 bathrooms there was no waiting to get ready. Really nice stay, hope to stay again one day.
Making Amazing memories 😄
We have stayed at Ebb tide cottage a few times with all my family, my sisters family and our mum & dad and we keep going back because it is so perfect for us all.
The house is a good size, in a lovely location.
Tintagel is in walking distance with some nice pubs and The Olive Garden is a great restaurant with fab food.
In the other direction is Trebarwith with the most amazing beach.
We will definitely be going back as it is a lovely clean and comfortable house.
Wonderful Modern House by the sea
We were a party of 5 (3 Adults and 2 Children aged 16 and 12). We had been to a beach in Tintagel before and loved it so decided to book a house in Tintagel. The house is deceptively large with power showers in all bathrooms, clean white bedding in all rooms and even a cupboard in the utility room with essentials. We found the house easily from the directions given and despite the somewhat tired looking appearance outside, the interior is clean, modern and well designed for a large family/group. The house is walking distance to a beautiful secluded beach but is down a steep walk. Well worth it though! Try Goliath Falls, a bit of a drive but the waterfalls and walks are breathtaking. The village of Tintagel is an easy walk where you can find many cafes, eateries and most importantly ice cream shops! Try Sails cafe in Boscastle, not much to look at but the food is delicious at a great price. Close to Port Isaac - Doc Martin village. All in all we loved this house. The location, the amenities, the homely feel and the price!
Perfect House and Location
This is our 3rd visit to Ebb Tide and even in winter it doesn't disappoint! The log burner and underfloor heating keep the house extra cosy even when it is chilly outside. The house is well equipped as usual, the beds very comfy and the upgraded Broadband is truly super fast.
This visit was for New Year and we had a wonderful time. We walked the coastal path from the house past Tintagel and into Boscastle for a warming lunch and then caught the bus home. We had a New Year's Day dip in the sea at Trebarthwith followed by a full English at The Port William before the short coastal walk home.
Looking forward to coming back in the summer!
Trebarwith Strand is about 2 miles by road or 1 and a half miles on foot over the cliffs. The small beach at Tintagel Castle is about 1 mile on foot. There are several good sandy beaches within easy driving distance, Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Bude and Widemouth Bay to name but a few. Boscastle and Port Isaac offer fishing and sailing trips.
Newquay or Bristol are the closest airports, and Bodmin station is the closest train station.
Trevillick makes a wonderful base from which to explore the Coastal Path, Trebarwith Strand, King Arthur's Castle and Tintagel, Boscastle, Bodmin Moor, Rock and Padstow, Newquay and the Eden Project. As well as amazing cliff and moorland walks you can also cycle along the Camel Trail (cycle hire available in Wadebridge and Padstow). Don't just think of North Cornwall as a summer holiday venue (though it is wonderful!) - it is absolutely amazing all year round!
Tintagel is a small holiday town famous for King Arthur’s castle and offers much in the way of historic interest. There are several shops here and many pubs and cafes offering a good selection of places to eat out. And of course the Old Post Office which is a fascinating glimpse into a past way of life.
Trebarwith is a valley with one road leading to a sandy beach. There are two car parks making this beach easy to get to. At high tide, the beach is completely covered ensuring up to a mile of clean sand at low tide. There are two pubs in Trebarwith both offering good meals. The Port William overlooks the bay and the Mill House is set in a wooded valley.
