Why Stephanie Wallis chose Freshwater
I live locally to the island and bought this property to use mainly as a great place for my young family to build some great memories and enjoy spending time together. We love the island as it feels as if you have stepped into another era just by crossing the water. The pace of life seems much more relaxed and enjoyable. Brambles Chine is a wonderful spot to use as a base to explore the island and is secluded enough to mean that it always has its own relaxed atmosphere.
What makes this Bungalow unique
The main reason we bought this property is the view, it is simply stunning! We've spent many hours sitting on the patio watching the boats sail by and have enjoyed relaxing and unwinding with a glass of two. There are a number of properties available on Brambles Chine but we chose this one as it benefits from a great view and is quite well secluded when compared to many of the properties, a great bonus when you are sitting on the patio in the evening.

Our 1st time self catering on the IOW even though we have visited several times before. We have always stayed in B/B s or hotels. We stayed here 21-25th May '17.
This property is situated in a fantastic location with fabulous views to Colwell Bay & The Needles.THe beach is minutes away & if youare lucky enough to have great weather like we did then there are great sunsets from the beach.
The "Beach Hut" is well equipped for a self catering stay. The rooms are very tasefully furnished with a seaside theme. The kitchen is very modern & all appliances appear to be fairly new. There are handy user guides to all of them .
The bed is very comfy & the sitting room /kitchen area is well laid out.
We were so lucky to have great weather throughout our stay & enjoyed sitting outsde where there is a patio table & 4 chairs. Its is very peacefull & relaxing & of course the great view. There were no other occupants in the nearby properties when we were there so it may have a different atmostphere if they were occupied. Our 5 day break was a really good one & i would highly recommend this property .We hope to return next year.
Beautiful chalet in a perfect location.
I highly recommend a stay here, the chalet is extremely comfortable and well equipped. We wanted for nothing other than to stay longer. Wonderful views over the sea to the needles and a magnificent beach within a 2 minute walk. I for one will be back!
Special interest holidays:
The chalet is located next to the coastal path used for 'Walking the Wight'. In addition there are many cycle ways available to explore, all accessible right from the front door.
Freshwater golf club is approx 3 miles away.
An indoor swimming pool can be found in the local town of Freshwater, 5mins drive away.
Learn to sail on the river Yar at the Yarmouth Sailing Club (RYA Training Centre) just outside Yarmouth; approx 7mins drive away.
The beach is just a two minute walk away. One of the most tranquil areas of the Isle of Wight, Blue flag awarded (2014) Colwell Bay’s beach consists of pebbles, shingle and sand.
Surrounded by magnificent chalk cliffs, this is one of the safest swimming areas on the island.
Additionally, just a short walk away is the long sandy beach at Colwell Bay with stunning views out to the western Solent. Great for rock pooling and grabbing an ice cream on a hot sunny day!
The chalet is a ten minute drive from the Wightlink ferry terminal in Yarmouth or a 35 minute drive from the Red Funnel terminal at Cowes.
The chalet can also be accessed along the coastal path and is approx 3 miles from the ferry terminal at Yarmouth, allowing you to walk or cycle from the ferry terminal.
The use of a car is recommended, but there is an excellent bus service especially during the summer months. Buses stop at the end of the road and can be picked up easily from Yarmouth.
The closest town is Freshwater, approximately 1 mile away.
Alternatively Yarmouth is around 3 miles away.
All of the Isle of Wight attractions are within easy reach by car or number 7 bus from Brambles Chine. There are also many walks and cycle routes to be explored across the island, the ‘Isle of Wight costal path’ even passes through the holiday village.
Freshwater is the main village in West Wight where you can find a number of amenities such as supermarkets / local shops / pubs / banks / take away's / swimming pool / library.
There are numerous excellent pubs and restaurants within the surrounding area, including Yarmouth, Freshwater Bay and Totland - we recomend you refer to our 'visitors book' to get an idea of the best ones.
Leisure activities in the area include swimming, horse-riding, fishing, golf and of course windsurfing, kite surfing and sailing.
There are many picturesque walks in the vicinity including the coastal path between Yarmouth/Fort Victoria, Totland Bay and the Needles. One of the finest walks in the area is from Freshwater Bay over Tennyson Down and towards the Needles.
N.B. Unfortunatly site rules mean we cannot accept bookings from people looking to bring a dog with them.
