Idyllic rural barn conversion, near Treen, Porthcurno, Minack Theatre, beaches

Bedrooms 1
Property type barn
Minimum Stay 3 - 7 nights

About the property

1 bedroom with wonderful views of rural landscape

The Piggery at Tresidder is a newly converted grade 2 listed property which dates from the early 1800's. This one bedroomed dwelling is set within it's own ample sized garden with far reaching views across the Upper Penberth valley and over to the small village of Treen.

The Piggery is the perfect destination for couples who enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside yet can easily reach nearby beautiful locations such as Penberth Cove (25 mins walk) where many scenes in the recent television series of Poldark were filmed, The Logan Rock which is set on the headland above the stunning Pedne Vounder beach, Porthcurno beach and of course the world famous open air Minack Theatre, set dramatically on the side of the cliffs. All these and more beautiful coves, beaches and attractions including Lands End, Porthcurno Telegraph Museum and Sennen Cove, one of the finest surfing destinations in Cornwall are all only approx 4 miles away.

Land's End airport is only just 4 miles away for day trips to the Isles of Scilly.

The Piggery is situated within the grounds of the owners' home yet offers privacy in it's own surrounding garden where you can enjoy wonderful views of the countryside and wildlife. It is an ideal location for watching buzzards, kestrels and sometimes even peregrines and sparrowhawks.

We have no light pollution here so it is the perfect spot to stargaze on clear nights.

The Piggery has been finished last year to a very high standard and offers a luxurious and comfortable experience with underfloor heating throughout property in cooler months, a wood burner, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave, Bluetooth speaker and high quality furnishings in a relaxed, rural setting.

Free superfast wifi available at property.

Simon and Zoe look forward to welcoming you to their beautiful property.

About Zoe and Simon

I am a hairdresser, born in Cornwall . I lived away in London for several years but Simon and myself were fortunate enough to be able to return 20 years ago and bring up our 2 children back in the place we love. Simon is a carpenter and builder and has renovated this property and our house from derelict buildings.

Zoe and Simon purchased this barn in 2012

Why Zoe and Simon chose Saint Buryan

Tresidder is a very special place. We bought the property 4 years ago and in that time Simon has transformed it to the beautiful place it is now. We love it for it's peace and tranquility and for being so close to nature.

What makes this barn unique

We fell in love with the property as we could see the potential for renovating it from an old piggery to a wonderful dwelling. You can see all the window reveals were once little doorways for the pigs. Inside were granite troughs which are now placed around our garden.

Beautiful, peaceful, modern, rustic & cosy!!

  • 5 of 5

Fabulously renovated old farm building, very comfortable and cosy, but also plenty of light and space, it’s ideally situated in a lovely tiny hamlet far from the madding crowd!! fantastic location for visiting all the local secret little coves and beaches or for hiking the stunning coastal paths in the area.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and pretty much leave you to it.

Get the little wood burner lit after a day of beach trekking and all is good with the world!!

I’d highly recommend a stay!!

From the moment we arrived we felt at home, and the relaxation was immediate! The Piggery has everything you could possibly want, is stylishly furnished and in an absolutely beautiful setting. We had a wonderful week - You don't need to go too far to find adventure, tranquility, fine food, music, and gorgeous beaches - thoroughly recommended! Thanks to Simon and Zoe for their kindness and for designing and building a wonderful holiday hideaway.

A perfect week.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful week in the Piggery. It is a fantastic conversion to an exceptional standard. With a fully-equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and a great shower, it's impossible to fault. The location is great for beaches and walks. The only downside was having to come home.

We look forward to returning to the Piggery soon.

It's difficult to explain, but what Zoe and Simon has created with her "Piggery" defies description! Warm, homelike and lovingly. It only last seconds to feel safe. A property, renovated with sense and sensibility in a wonderfull surroundings.

Many thanks both of you for your good advices and for beeing a part of your live (and Tomten's) even for seven days. We wish you all the best and good luck with your project in the neighbourhood - you'll make it! See you again....

Perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

We came here on mini-moon after our wedding in Cornwall and had such a lovely week. The cottage is completely kitted out with everything you could need - we particularly loved the bbq and loungers! - and we were able to properly hide away from it all. Zoe and Simon were lovely and very welcoming - we were very grateful for the goodies in the fridge and the cute heart chocs.

Would definitely recommend and will hopefully be back.

Thanks again
