About the property

1 bedroom wonderful views of rural landscape near coves, coast path, surfing

The Piggery at Tresidder is a Grade 2 listed building from the early 19th century and has been immaculately and sensitively renovated. It is the perfect destination for a peaceful and tranquil break away from the hustle and bustle of life and it's pressures . The Piggery is perfectly situated for visiting popular and picturesque locations such as Porthcurno, The World famous open air Minack Theatre, Mousehole ( quoted as 'The prettiest village in England' by Dylan Thomas, Sennen Cove ( one of the finest surfing beaches in the U.K),St Michael's Mount, St Ives and many more beautiful coves, attractions, beaches and villages.

A footpath goes through the hamlet of Tresidder and will take you , in just over a mile , to Penberth , an idyllic small fishing cove that is frequently shown in scenes on the popular Poldark series . From here the coast path can be joined to reach the most stunning beaches in the country, Pedne Vounder and Porthcurno . Further on still, The Minack Theatre, Gwennap Head ( where Cornish choughs , once extinct in Cornwall, can often be seen ) and Porthgwarra. Also, in the other direction from Penberth, walks to Lamorna cove and further on , mousehole.

Land's End airport is only just 4 miles away for day trips to the Isles of Scilly or catch the ferry from Penzance , 7 miles away.

The Piggery is situated within the grounds of the owners' home yet offers privacy in it's own surrounding garden where you can enjoy wonderful views of the countryside and wildlife. It is an ideal location for watching buzzards, kestrels and sometimes even peregrines and sparrowhawks. So many of our guests have commented that it's a delight to just stay put for the whole day, enjoying the different areas of the garden on the sun loungers or the secluded patio with the swinging seat or inside with the log burner lit and comfy seating.

We are only 4 miles away from the finest surfing beaches in the area , Sennen and Gwenver. On the South coast , approx 9 miles , Perranuthnoe and Praa Sands. We have a Mini Mal surfboard available for use should you wish to have a go or if you're unable to bring your own, Otherwise surfboard hire and lessons are widely available.

We have no light pollution here so it is the perfect spot to stargaze on clear nights.

The Piggery was finished last year to a very high standard and offers a luxurious and comfortable experience with underfloor heating throughout property in cooler months, a wood burner and generous log supply, dishwasher, washer dryer, microwave, well equipped kitchen for cooking at home, Comfy King size bed, Powerful shower, Television with freesat , DVD player ,Bluetooth speaker, Barbeque, sun loungers and high quality furnishings in a relaxed, rural setting.

Free Superfast wifi available at property.

Simon and Zoe look forward to welcoming you .

About Zoe and Simon

I am a hairdresser, born in Cornwall . I lived away in London for several years but Simon and myself were fortunate enough to be able to return 20 years ago and bring up our 2 children back in the place we love. Simon is a carpenter and builder and has renovated this property and our house from derelict buildings.

Zoe and Simon purchased this barn in 2012

Why Zoe and Simon chose Saint Buryan

Tresidder is a very special place. We bought the property 4 years ago and in that time Simon has transformed it to the beautiful place it is now. We love it for it's peace and tranquility and for being so close to nature.

What makes this barn unique

We fell in love with the property as we could see the potential for renovating it from an old piggery to a wonderful dwelling. You can see all the window reveals were once little doorways for the pigs. Inside were granite troughs which are now placed around our garden.

Beautiful property in a quiet country setting.

We had a fabulous week in The Piggery. Our hosts Zoe & Simon were extremely friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The property was clean and fabulously laid out. We enjoyed plenty of time in the garden relaxing enjoying the sun and peacefulness.

The location was perfect to visit our favourite places Mousehole and Sennen. It was my wife's 60th Birthday and Zoe & Simon very kindly bought a plant and bottle of wine. Would we stay again? Most definitely.

Perfect hideaway!

  • 5 of 5

Not only is this gem in the perfect place to get to some gorgeous Cornish villages and beaches, but Zoe and Simon have thought of everything you might need and have really useful local knowledge. The barn is lovely - extremely comfortable, private, and of a very high standard. I can’t praise it enough - we’ll definitely be back if we visit Cornwall again!

Another great holiday at the Piggery

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a week in 2017 and decided to spend two weeks at Tresidder this year. Immaculate as expected and once again we made the most of the well-equipped kitchen. A great base for exploring Penwith - great walks, great beaches and great local food. We'll be back. Alan & Jane

Beautiful, peaceful, modern, rustic & cosy!!

  • 5 of 5

Fabulously renovated old farm building, very comfortable and cosy, but also plenty of light and space, it’s ideally situated in a lovely tiny hamlet far from the madding crowd!! fantastic location for visiting all the local secret little coves and beaches or for hiking the stunning coastal paths in the area.

The owners are very friendly and helpful and pretty much leave you to it.

Get the little wood burner lit after a day of beach trekking and all is good with the world!!

I’d highly recommend a stay!!
