Notre Rêve is our traditional cosy but spacious Savoyard wooden built Chalet located in the authentic village resort of Bernex, France. Ideally located for both Summer and Winter pursuits for young and old alike. Ideal for 2 families, sleeps 10/12.

Bernex is situated in the northern mountains of the Haute Savoie area of the Alps known as the Chablais Region or Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. It is just over 1 hour from Geneva Airport (60km) or a 12 hour drive from the UK (depending on where you're based!).

Our detached Chalet is in a fantastic location with stunning views. It is well equipped for adults, families and children. It is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, local shops and Tourist Office, not to mention the Pizza takeaway too!

The Chalet comprises of 5 double bedrooms spanning 3 floors sleeping 10 on beds and comfortably fitting 2 more on a sofabed in the Sitting Room and/or the moveable single Futon in one of the bedrooms, there is also a travel cot if required. Three bedrooms are on the Second floor, one on the First and one on the Ground Floor.

There is a separate Kitchen on the First floor and a linked open plan Sitting Room and Dining Room which has double doors to a spacious balcony with fantastic views.

There is a Bathroom on the Second floor, with separate loo. On the First Floor there is a Shower Room and a separate loo. On the Ground Floor there is a Shower Room with a loo.

In the Garage there is a Utility Area with a washing machine and dryer, also a Table Tennis Table! There is plenty of space for you to keep skis, ski boots, sledges, mountain bikes, walking boots etc. here. There is outside parking for a couple of cars on the drive or on the hard-standing area in the grass. The Chalet has a private fenced garden with a double gate.

In the Summer Bernex offers plenty of activities – tennis, petanque, horse riding, mountain biking, a new Bike Park through the trees/ski slopes, parapente, fishing and white water rafting, together with recreational and cultural activities. With nearby golf, sailing, swimming, climbing, paragliding, white-water rafting and canyoning and the famous Dent d’Oche at 2222 metres high for those keen for a challenge. However for those less adventurous there are many ramblers paths which accommodate all levels with Fromageries, Flora & Fauna on the way! More than enough to keep the most active of people busy on their relaxing holidays – you’ll need two weeks! There is also Lac Beunaz, a few mins by car where they have a whole host of activities; zip wires, high ropes, inflatables, trampolines etc. Also 10 Pin Bowling at Blues Rock Café in same village, in Winter too. If the local activities are not enough, Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and Evian are 15 minutes away, have many attractions such as water sports, spa & thermal baths, beaches and bars to give you that waterside feel – not to mention Evian Mineral Water! There are various shops in Bernex which you can visit and sample some of the local products. Alternatively, just sit back, relax and enjoy the views and atmosphere of this naturally beautiful area.

In the Winter Bernex offers its own ski area comprising of 20 slopes, between 1000 and 2000 metres, with a variety of runs to suit all levels and also breath taking views of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) and Mont Blanc. There are two restaurants at the mid-station. Generally the ski resort opens mid to late December and closes at the end of March each year. Additionally there is a 200m squared Ice Rink near the Tourist Office (easy to walk to from Chalet) in the Winter months.

Winter Walking and Cross Country skiing are further activities that the Bernex valley, plateau du Gavot, has to offer, together with sleigh rides and sledging, check with Tourist Office.

During the Christmas and February French holidays from 8.30am to close, there is a 'free' little Train which takes you to and from the ski slopes just a 3 minute walk from the Chalet, departing behind the Tourist Office.

Whilst Bernex offers sufficient skiing, there is also Thollon les Memises 15 minutes away, together with La Chapelle d’Abondance, under 30 minutes away which is linked to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.

In Vinzier, just under a 5km drive, there is a large Super U supermarket where you can stock up on all your holiday food, wine and essentials. You can also buy petrol/diesel here.

Notre Reve is a spacious chalet in a great location within Bernex. It is close to and within walking distance of a Takeaway Pizzeria, local produce shop, Distillery (they do tours), local bars. restaurants and a small Supermarket. A little further is a wonderful local Boulangerie for your fresh bread, croissants, pan aux raisins etc.

The Tourist Office is a short stroll away where you can find a whole host of activities within the local area and Switzerland.

What makes this chalet unique

The village of Bernex has a wonderful laid back and traditional feel to it. It is totally unspoiled and with the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside and mountains, forever changing in the light, there is plenty to see and do.

Feb Ski Week!

Just had a wonderful week's stay in Bernex at this lovely chalet. Loved taking the Ski Shuttle Train from just outside the Tourist Office (3-4 min walk or less if you're quick and the train is already there!). Great family skiing in Bernex with all 9 of us coming down the mountain together. Fabulous memories made. Super takeaway Pizza a one minute walk from the chalet - delicious thin and crispy pizzas with amazing toppings. Bars & restaurants within easy walking distance too. Chalet well equipped. Easy access by car in just over 30 mins to Chatel too for the more adventurous amongst you - this takes you up and over to Avoriaz! a great well equipped chalet. We will be back!

A fantastic family friendly chalet - we love it!

We love Nortre Reve and would certainly recommend it. There were 9 of us 2 x families who stayed for a ski holiday. The location is fantastic, you can hop on land train just 50 m away from the chalet direct to the resort it take a few mins or drive and park. The kids loved it. The owners kept us well informed and were friendly and helpful. The basement is fantastic for ski storage. The house was clean and everything worked well. The garden wraps around the house and the sun was still on the balcony when we got back from a days skiing! Perfect for an early G&T! We used the entire house even the ground floor bedroom. Which was great as it was nice and peaceful and does not feel separate to the house as you only really sleep and shower there. The dining and living area is just right for big family dinners, or take out pizza from down the road (which are wonderful). You have everything you need in the kitchen and more. We particularly like the honesty of the owners who left us some beer in the fridge for our arrival we just replaced it for the next people. Ski passes are a bargain compared to the massive resorts and skiing is very safe in Bernex. Our kids all ski as gang and have the freedom you do not get in larger resorts. We love: Le Relais de la Chevrette, fabulous traditional food. We love tobogganing behind Chez Tante Marie and watching the kids go wild while we sip wine!
