Quiet Chalet with fantastic views
Nice chalet in quiet little spot but near to chair lift, shops and restaurants.
Chalet was well equipped and for our first time ever on a ski holiday had excellent broadband.
It was well heated and very cosy with the fire going.
Loading and unloading of the car was the easiest we have ever had due to being able to park so close to the Chalet.
Thank you for your kind comments - so glad you enjoyed the chalet. The ability to offload your baggage so close is a big bonus that we still appreciate. Hope to see you again!
Really comfortable and great views
Really near to everything and great views

Special interest holidays:
Running and biking training holidays to the chalet are run by Tempo Events - please consult their website.
In Summer, Vallandry is a serious biking centre, both mountain and road biking. It is also a well-known paragliding centre.
Search for flights from UK to Chambery (in Winter only), Lyon, Grenoble, Geneva or Milan & Turin. Flightmapping is very useful and links you onto Skyscanner, which is really good. Look on the Peisey-Vallandry website for details of all the bus transfers. There is a station at the bottom of the mountain at Landry, which is the last station before Bourg-Saint-Maurice. The snow train stops here in winter and the shuttle bus will normally be there to take you up to the resort (free if you have proof of purchase of a ski lift pass).
Vallandry is a very pretty village situated at 1600m. It is on the edge of the Vanoise National Park and is also right at the centre of the Paradiski area due to its Vanoise Express cable car, which has linked Les Arcs and La Plagne. You will not ski the entire area in one week. In summer the colours and wild flowers are stunning and a trip to the nearby Vanoise National Park is not to be missed. There is a small road linking Vallandry to Les Arcs, where there is a stunning swimming pool.
There are some relaxing bars, lovely restaurants, a variety of interesting shops and a decent supermarket. The Office de Tourisme is located just at the entrance to the village and always has a welcome meeting towards the beginning of the week. They organise all sorts of events during the week. Once a week there is an impressive torchlight decent into the village and free vin chaud for everyone.
In Summer there is a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, several tennis courts and an archery site. The annual Trials Bike competition is very exciting. There is a football field at Rosuel in the entrance to the National Park and also pony trekking. There is a small road linking Vallandry to Les Arcs, where there is a stunning swimming pool, high ropes course and trampolines. Paragliding is very popular and there are opportunities to go ice climbing.

About Jilly Bland
Jilly and Richard Bland, keen skiers, sailors, runners and walkers, dog lovers, cooks and quaffers of fine wines!
Jilly Bland purchased this Chalet in 2004
Why Jilly Bland chose Vallandry
We bought the chalet as we had been staying in the Chalets de Vallandry for 3 years in a row. We loved the view from the balcony and the easy access for the car and to the village and the ski lift.
What makes this Chalet unique
The chalet is a home from home in terms of creature comforts - it has a full working kitchen with all the utensils you need and the log fire in the evening is bliss. It's a great place to chill when the weather is not tempting you out as there is plenty of space and the full glass windows allow you to enjoy what's going on outside and leave the skiing to the hardened bunch! The large balcony gets the full sun in the afternoon, perfect for those apres-ski drinks. The supermarket is 5 minutes away along with all the bars. In Summer the whole area is surrounded by wild flowers and cows with bells around their necks. It is a paradise for walkers, runners and bikers and the sky is busy with para-gliders and golden eagles. Down in Landry the water sports centre offers loads of activities.
