About Susan Hard
We have owned this property since it was built in 2006 and all our family have enjoyed it for its closeness to the beaches and the Bestival. Although we don't live on the Island we have very professional agents who live close by who look after the property for us and are available if anything goes wrong.
Susan Hard purchased this Cottage in 2011
Why Susan Hard chose Horsham District
This is a typical English cottage with a log fire and will appeal to anyone who wants a home from home experience. The garden is particularly admired and full of roses in the summer months. Visitors comment on the well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. It is particularly popular at Christmas and New Year and for the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Revival. We welcome guests for short breaks as well as weekly lets. The cottage is also popular with wedding parties for those getting married locally. All guests receive a welcome pack on their arrival and travel cots and stair gates are available for younger guests.

Superb cottage with very friendly owners and lots of things to do in the vicinity
We are a family of 5 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely period cottage. The owners made us feel very welcome and right at home and the cottage really is like a home from home. It has a nice garden and ample dining space, too, all modern cons and is very tastefully decorated. We could not have asked for more. The children loved it, too. There are lots of things to explore in the area. After 2 weeks we could have easily carried on with a million other things to do and see. The countryside is right on the doorstep, there is a beautiful church right opposite and at the same time the supermarkets are very close by, too. Enjoy it as much as we did!
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We so enjoyed having you to stay in Ivy Cottage and loved the enthusiasm your whole family had for both Ivy Cottage and all the things the area has to offer. I believe you really got the very best out of your experience in Sussex and we do so hope we can welcome you back very soon.
A lovely cottage!!
We had a lovely couple of days at Ivy Cottage. The house itself is a delightful cottage, cosy and full of charm, but also very well equipped with everything you would need during your stay. Our kids also loved it, and the separate lounge and TV room was a good feature of the house.
There are lots of nice places to visit in the area (e.g. Arundel Castle, Petworth House, Midhurst etc) as well as the seaside not too far away and lots of pretty Sussex villages.
David and Susan were very helpful and welcoming too, and thanks to you both for a lovely couple of days!
Thank you so much for your lovely review and we are so pleased you enjoyed Ivy Cottage. We have tried to make it so it is a home from home with everything a guest might need whether for a short or a long break.
We hope that we will see you and the children again in the near future.
Kind regards Susan
Lovely house, very good facilities.
Thank you for your review. We look forward to welcoming you back
A lovely country cottage in a typical English village
Really loved this cottage in a quaint village nestled in the Sussex Downs. It was fully equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. It is an old cottage with lots of quirkiness about it, but the modern conservatory leading into a fully stocked small garden makes a lovely addition to the house and somewhere that we enjoyed sitting for breakfast and in the evening when we came back in. Just to note, however, parking was very tight on the street outside the cottage, but did get parked further down the street without issue. Will definitely be making another visit here!
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am sorry you had trouble with the parking but usually there is not a major problem. It may have been a weekend when the other residents happened to have friends staying. I am so pleased you enjoyed the garden and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future
Wonderful rustic cottage, with everything we needed for a perfect week!
Our hosts (the Hards) were ever so helpful in explaining where everything was in the cottage, as well as showing us on a map where we might find items of interest to us and places to visit. Pulborough is a lovely place with excellent grocery and places to eat. We had a great time and never ran out of things to do. A beautiful part of England, and our cottage deserves an A+.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It was so lovely to,welcome guests from Texas who really appreciated the Cottage and all that Sussex has to offer. We hope you will find the time to return to Ivy Cottage as I am sure I can source some more car boot sales ! Regards Susan
Lovely characterful cottage with all mod cons.
The cottage was ideal for our purposes and we enjoyed our stay.
Thank you so much for your kind review. I am pleased Ivy Cottage lived up to your expectations and that you were able to enjoy it to catch up with friends and family. We hope you will come and stay with us again
