Its a fabulous neighbourhood, full of hidden gardens and pretty backstreets, pubs, restaurants and boutiques to explore. Portobello road market open on Friday and Saturdays bustles with antiques, fruit and veg stalls and all manner of goodies. Westbourne Grove and Ledbury road provides some of the best clothes shopping as well as delicious delis and restaurants.

My daughter and I had a lovely week in Notting Hill! This apartment was wonderfully provisioned and exceeded our expectations. It was lovingly maintained, and well provisioned. Clearly the owner loves this place and spends a good deal of time here. Elizabeth Lytton was very professional in the way they communicated from start to finish. The very famous Portobello Road market and amenities were 5 mins away. We loved every moment of our time there and would recommend to anyone. Many thanks for a spectacular week.

Notting Hill Gate is home to the famous Portobello road market, and Notting Hill Carnival held in August. It is a lively, trendy area with lots to do and see, and also a very attractive and very expensive residential area. Only 20 minutes by tube to Piccadilly Circus.

This central London location is full of boutiques and independently run shops and restaurants. Its cinema clubs, The Electric, The Gate and the Coronet, have over a hundred years of history, and show non blockbuster films and foreign movies. Try The Tabernacle for fringe Concerts, Exhibitions and Theatre or The Elgin for live music by up and coming, breakthrough artists.

Elegant Holland Park is right next door, with its outdoor summer theatre, tennis courts and gardens full of peacocks and rabbits, is a great way to walk or cycle to High Street Kensington. Julie’s Wine bar is such a pretty restaurant/bar and well worth the walk off the beaten path.

Transport Links

Notting Hill Gate is served by several underground station lines - the Central, District and Circle lines with direct transport links right across central London. The bus service is also excellent – from Notting Hill Gate the bus goes on a straight road to Oxford Street - and there are lots of Boris bikes if you prefer to cycle.

Local Shopping

Portobello Market – Famous antiques market where you can also find extensive vintage, boutique and designer shopping. Saturday is the most popular day to visit when all the bric-a-brac markets are open. Try ‘One of a Kind’ for vintage finds you won’t see anyone else wearing.

Ledbury road and Westbourne Grove – Just off Portobello road you enter a different world of luxury boutique shopping, delicious delis and stylish coffee shops and restaurants.

Local Eating-out

The Churchill Arms – located on Kensington Church Street, a traditional pub, which used to be frequented by Winston Churchill. An impressive exterior covered with flowers you are sure not to miss it.
