About Sue and Noel Stubbs
My wife and I live in the wonderful seaside town of Weymouth, where we both grew up. Weymouth combines a traditional seaside atmosphere and bustling working harbour area with some excellent bars and restaurants. Weymouth is a top class sailing location, having hosted tall ships races in the past, and the Olympic Sailing events in 2012. The National Sailing Centre is around 2 miles from the house, and underlines Weymouth's maritime attractions, which include diving, windsurfing and kite surfing as well as one of the UK's finest beaches.
Cancelled bookings will not receive a refund.
Wow, Sue this house really has got everything you could possibly need!!
Perfect lay out, lots of room and very clean, bed sheets smell amazing.
Large BBQ with side burner (best cleaning tool ever, I need to buy one) two outside seating areas, giant connect four in the summer house was a bonus.
Do hope we were not too noisy, I was up well passed my normal bed time.
Group of 8 friends, we could not of asked for more.
Thank you Sue
A large family home a short walk away from the sea
A spacious family home suitable for a large family to enjoy each other, have fun, share meals and just be!
Thanks for the review Lynn - much appreciated. Pleased the 12 of you had another good stay at Seaview; always good to have large family groups or groups of friends staying at the house! Best wishes, Sue
The best birthday
So a group of 12 of us (8 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs) were looking for somewhere to stay to celebrate a big birthday of mine. My friend found this place. Sue was amazing, gave us lots of advise and was there for any questions we had. The house was well equipped, has some great views from bedrooms and plenty of seating. The house and the garden was a great space for us all. I thought we may be a little out of the way but wow there is a great walk into Weymouth itself so it was so easy to get in to and out of the town and beach. There are also some lovely walks and bits to see really close to the house. Thank you we all had a wonderful time and it will certainly be a few days to remember. A few of the group are already talking about coming back with their families.
This house is absolutely amazing. There is everything you need for a fabulous holiday. Close to the sea and the main Weymouth shops and beaches. We were a large family of various ages from 8 months to 65 years and all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Sue was so helpful when we added another two people to the already large family booking and made us all feel welcome. Thank you Sue for allowing us to share your beautiful house. Janet x
Great house with everything we needed
Great communication from the owners, house was clean and had everything we needed for our short weekend in Weymouth. Thanks lots
A little gem in a great location
A great house where the owner’s attention to detail ensures a super holiday for all ages come rain or shine.
The nearest local sandy beaches along the edge of Portland Harbour are within a 10 minute walk. The large, scenic, main Weymouth beach is a 20/25 minute walk from the house, or a short drive. This beach has a long, wide expanse of very soft, light and clean sand. At the far end, (in the Greenhill area) the beach is covered with pebbles mostly.
Dogs are allowed with their owners along the whole of Weymouth beach from October/April generally. However, they are confined to one area May/September.
Bournemouth and Exeter are the nearest airports. Trains run regularly to a variety of destinations to and from Weymouth Station. There is an excellent bus service running along the length of the scenic Jurassic Coast, which is very popular with both locals and visitors. There is also a very busy coach trips business based in Weymouth. Of course, there is also a local bus service running frequently, covering Weymouth, Portland, Dorchester etc. Try the 'open-top' bus Weymouth/Portland Bill!
Weymouth Harbour...1 mile, 15/20 min walk
Abbotsbury - Village, Swannery and Sub-Tropical Gardens ...9.5 miles, 25mins drive
Lyme Regis.....28 miles, 1 hour's drive
This is an ideal area if you are interested in water sports/activities. Thanks to the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, we now have the National Sailing Academy nearby, as well as a water sports facility 5 minutes walk away. Windsurfing/kite surfing are also very popular in our area.
There are of course, local sandy beaches for children/adults as well as the main Weymouth Beach with it's many facilities/activities on offer.
There is plenty of countryside to explore surrounding the Weymouth area, especially if you are willing to drive short distances and walk when you get there! Places such as Abbotsbury Swannery (30/40 minute drive) and Hardy Monument amongst others, are always a pleasure to visit. Portland Bill is also a fantastic place, with or without dogs to walk.
There are also plenty of walking opportunities just on leaving 'Seaview' itself, and either heading in the direction of Portland......or Weymouth town; either way, a good proportion of the journey can be completed away from any roads or traffic, which HAS to be a good thing! There is information online about the 'Rodwell Trail', which can be accessed very close by.
Weymouth has no shortage of good restaurants (all budgets/types), pubs, clubs etc, many of which are around the harbour area. Many have outdoor seating especially in the warmer months, which often makes the harbour a lively, colourful place to be. Weymouth Harbour is also a very busy place early in the mornings, with fishing boats landing their catches daily.
Asda is the nearest large supermarket to 'Seaview', but there are also others available in the Weymouth area, including Tesco (Portland), Morrisons and Sainsburys.
