perfect getaway if you have a dog
Maura was a very helpful host, nothing was too much bother and she made us very welcome and at home. She made many great suggestions as to where to go with our dog. Elsie (the dog) was spoilt rotten. Will definitely go back now that we have found this wee gem.
Perfect "Wild Atlantic Way" Location & Host
My wife and I decided to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary in Ireland. Fortunately, we decided to stay with Maura Quinn in her Doonbeg cottage. The spacious cottage had every amenity we needed to make our two week stay better than we ever imagined. Maura made sure we needed nothing, without being intrusive, but always available for advice. Her advice proved to be valuable on several occasions. Not only is the cottage perfectly situated for all sites in County Clare, but it is in easy driving range for northern jaunts to Galway and Connemarra .You will not want to miss driving the Ring of Kerry to the south and Quin Abbey just east of Ennis. Morrissey’s down by the river and Tubridy’s, both in Doonbeg, served marvelous meals when we didn’t make the ten minute drive to Diamond Rocks in Kilkee. Our favorite breakfast stop was the Pantry in Kilkee. The ladies, running the Pantry, were as delightful as their breakfasts were delicious. This cottage is the perfect location for beginning and ending explorations of the “Wild Atlantic Way.”
Charming slightly rustic cottage with a view of water. Private with convenient location.
This cottage offers charm and convenience while giving a little taste of real Irish life along a coast that is simply spectacular. Close to Kilkee which has an incredible hiking path along the coast and great restaurants. The Pantry is a great place for food and the bakery was absolutely delicious. Doonbeg offers an easy drive up to Spanish Point for more beautiful vistas and lot of wonderful stops along the way. Doonbeg is a charming town with beautifully painted buildings and Morrisseys offered one of the best fish and chips that I have ever tasted. The property owner was attentive while still allowing for plenty of privacy. She made sure that I had what I needed and offered tips about the area that made my 4 day visit just perfect. The cottage was stocked with everything I needed for a comfortable stay and even offered a few extras like coffee, tea and biscuits. This property is perfect for someone interested in a bit of local charm and it has the character of local living while being conveniently located.
