Newly renovated, elegant, light filled apartment on the garden level of my house. The entrance is private with a serene patio overlooking wild rhododendron grove and the mountains beyond. A well behaved small (under 25 lbs.) dog is welcome to enjoy the huge, fenced yard. Apartment is elegant with hardwood floors, a large living room, kitchenette, beautiful bath with heated tile floor. It is 2 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 miles to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville's lively downtown. Host provides wine or beer on arrival, continental breakfast, restaurant and outdoor activity guides and as much advice as guests desire. There is one queen size bed. Wifi is free, a satellite high definition "smart TV" and a quiet, peaceful environment. Wild turkeys roosting in the trees and beautiful flowers in the summer make this a perfect place to explore Asheville and Western North Carolina.
Romantic, quiet spot just minutes to downtown Asheville.

About Jill Preyer
I retired after 35 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I moved to Asheville the day after I retired and it was a great decision. This town is vibrant culturally, the natural beauty of the mountains and the warmth of this community make it a great place to live. I live in the upstairs of the house with my dog, Emma.
Jill Preyer purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Jill Preyer chose Asheville
This house is in a very quiet area but a 12 minute drive to downtown and even closer to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village. Downtown is busy and lively so it is lovely to retreat to this quiet mountainside spot. The apartment was totally new construction and fully renovated in the fall of 2015.
What makes this Apartment unique
If you cannot bear to leave your dog behind, I understand. The large yard has many wild rhododendron trees so it is shady in the summer and covered with wood chips for dogs to play. If you like to walk or hike, the MTS (mountain to sea) trail is only two miles away. In the summer the garden is lush and in the winter the mountain views are even better. I put a great deal of thought into making Cliffside Cottage the kind of elegant and comfortable place that I would like to enjoy on vacation.

Amazing! Just like being at home.
What can I say, but absolutley beautiful! Awesome setting. Clean, comfortable full of thoughtful amenities provided with heart and care. The 2 best hosts you could ask for. Jill, and her little fur partner Emma. We were even delighted in the last morning by a local brown bear that was outside the fenced in yard, but close enough to get a great personal view. We look forward to our next visit to our home away from home.
So that's what all that barking was about! I missed the bear but am delighted that you enjoyed the wildlife. Thanks so much for coming.
Beautiful home in a perfect location!
We had a great time at Jill's home. The space is exactly as described and fit our needs perfectly. We brought our dog and he loved the fenced in back yard. The house is a short drive from downtown Asheville and a few minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Jill left us delicious homemade muffins and a bottle of wine for when we arrived. She was incredibly nice the entire time--even when our dog let himself in her house through a cracked door on her back deck! We will definitely be staying here again!
I loved it
My husband and I stayed 8 nights at this beautiful quaint cottage. The beauty surrounding....the location...the warm and inviting hospitality were perfect in every way. Jill is a great host and her sweet doggie Emma was an added bonus for us as we brought our sweet little dog and they made friends. I will return one day and encourage my friends to make a visit to the Cliffside Cottage and enjoy the beauty of Asheville. Thank you Jill for the perfect stay 👌👍🐶
Such a delight having you and Molly.
Beautiful, immaculate mountain suite!
Large apartment that was immaculately clean and "HGTV up-to-date" with all the amenities of home. The gardens were beautiful and the fenced-in yard was perfect for our small dog which loved playing with the owner Jill's small dog - Emma. Jill was sweet and thoughtful with restaurant and shopping tips. Cliffside Court was close to downtown and much better than staying in a hotel. We will definitely like to stay there again when we visit Asheville!
Looking forward to hosting you next year!
Wonderful apartment! Jill is a great host!
The cliff side apartment worked out great for us. The apartment was in a great location. We were able to visit Biltmore Estate with just a short drive. Downtown Ashville was also close by.
The Apartment was furnished with everything that we needed and was very clean.
Jill left Red Wine for me and Coke for my wife this was a nice touch!
Jill is also pet friendly and goes out of her way to assist with any special pet needs.
We will definitely stay at Cliff Side on our next visit to Ashville.
The property is gorgeous, with huge trees and beautiful landscaping. The suite is outstanding.
We stayed at Jill’s for four nights. The accommodations were perfect - we were greeted with a bottle of chilled wine and provided with breakfast snacks. Jill also provides abundant information on area restaurants and activities. There are all the amenities - WiFi, television, and a collection of books. The neighborhood is beautiful and peaceful. If we return to Asheville, we will definitely stay there again. Thanks, Jill, for a wonderful and restful stay.
It's guests like you that make it a pleasure to host!
Asheville is known for the Biltmore Estate (the largest home in America) which deserves a full day of your time. We are a "foodie" town with 240 restaurants, 27 breweries and many music venues. Asheville has a long history of crafts and fine arts with many galleries and the River Arts District which features open artist studios. I provide menus, hiking suggestions, maps, up to date information on things to do based on guests interests. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only two miles away and the "Mountain to Sea Trail" is a walking/hiking trail that parallels the parkway for hundreds of miles.
