Newly renovated, elegant, light filled apartment on the garden level of my house. The entrance is private with a serene patio overlooking wild rhododendron grove and the mountains beyond. A well behaved small (under 25 lbs.) dog is welcome to enjoy the huge, fenced yard. Apartment is elegant with hardwood floors, a large living room, kitchenette, beautiful bath with heated tile floor. It is 2 miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, 5 miles to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville's lively downtown. Host provides wine or beer on arrival, continental breakfast, restaurant and outdoor activity guides and as much advice as guests desire. There is one queen size bed. Wifi is free, a satellite high definition "smart TV" and a quiet, peaceful environment. Wild turkeys roosting in the trees and beautiful flowers in the summer make this a perfect place to explore Asheville and Western North Carolina.

About Jill Preyer
I retired after 35 years as a Marriage and Family Therapist. I moved to Asheville the day after I retired and it was a great decision. This town is vibrant culturally, the natural beauty of the mountains and the warmth of this community make it a great place to live. I live in the upstairs of the house with my dog, Emma.
Jill Preyer purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Jill Preyer chose Asheville
This house is in a very quiet area but a 12 minute drive to downtown and even closer to the Biltmore Estate and Biltmore Village. Downtown is busy and lively so it is lovely to retreat to this quiet mountainside spot. The apartment was totally new construction and fully renovated in the fall of 2015.
What makes this Apartment unique
If you cannot bear to leave your dog behind, I understand. The large yard has many wild rhododendron trees so it is shady in the summer and covered with wood chips for dogs to play. If you like to walk or hike, the MTS (mountain to sea) trail is only two miles away. In the summer the garden is lush and in the winter the mountain views are even better. I put a great deal of thought into making Cliffside Cottage the kind of elegant and comfortable place that I would like to enjoy on vacation.

Our stay was a lovely experience. The extra twin sleeper was prepared and ready for our late arrival and the heated bathroom floor was fabulous! The location could not have been better for our two trips to Biltmore. I would recommend this to anyone needing a place to stay. Jill was the perfect hostess. Our dog was also treated with love, water bowl was full and waiting for her as well as a doggy bed for her. The fenced yard made our outside trips secure.
So delighted you enjoyed your stay. My goal is always to exceed expectations!
Enjoyed our stay in Asheville :)
Jill’s quiet and beautiful garden apartment was perfect for our 3 night stay in Asheville. Very clean with attention to detail and everything needed to make our stay enjoyable! Jill’s hospitality and thoughtful “extra” amenities were a nice touch! House is 10 min. drive to downtown, the Biltmore, Blue Ridge Trail, restaurants & stores.
Lovely mountain getaway!
Charming apartment in a lovely mountainside garden setting. Jill, the host, thinks of everything and provides all the little extras that make for wonderful stay. The apartment is spotless, tastefully decorated, and well-stocked. Highest recommendations. We would love to return on our next Asheville getaway!
Beautiful property on a hill very convenient to anything you want to see in Asheville.
Very well-kept and welcoming home. Wonderful personal touches left by the owner. Very private, peaceful, and quiet. Close to restaurants, groceries, and hiking on Blue Ridge Parkway. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be coming back the next time we visit Asheville. HIGHLY recommend this home.
The perfect cottage setting
Cliffside Cottage will be #1 on our list of cottages and cabins rented over the past 7 years of driving trips. Not only is the cottage everything one could want for creature comforts, the outdoor landscaping is gorgeous, providing quite the oasis for the guests. Beyond that, the owner, Jill, is completely tuned in to guest pampering. Who these days supplies English muffins and jams and juice AND a Keurig machine plus k-cups? My husba nd and I felt completely welcomed here, as did our 10-pound schnoodle. The setting is quiet, but still accessible to downtown Asheville in minutes. Top notch in our book.
Beautiful location. Very comfortable with everything you would need. Convenient to Asheville activit
Jill is a wonderful host. Looking forward to our next visit.
Asheville is known for the Biltmore Estate (the largest home in America) which deserves a full day of your time. We are a "foodie" town with 240 restaurants, 27 breweries and many music venues. Asheville has a long history of crafts and fine arts with many galleries and the River Arts District which features open artist studios. I provide menus, hiking suggestions, maps, up to date information on things to do based on guests interests. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only two miles away and the "Mountain to Sea Trail" is a walking/hiking trail that parallels the parkway for hundreds of miles.
