About the property

Our welcoming self-catering house is filled with all the comforts that you'd expect but with the qualities that make this a real home from home. Relax in the heart of the pretty and historic market town of Rye or explore the beautiful surrounding area. Be it history, fine dining or breathtaking beaches, let the adventures unfold.

The Old Boathouse boasts three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen and separate utility area and a large living room which has lovely views of the quay. Rooms come with linen and towels provided, and there is central heating throughout. There is also a secure garage that can accommodate a family car - a rare premium in the centre of Rye.

The house has a fully equipped kitchen and lounge with TV and twin reclining sofas and the utility area includes an additional fridge and washing machine.

The three comfortable bedrooms; two upstairs, one with a king sized bed, one with bunk beds, and one downstairs with two single beds with an adjoining shower room provide ideal accommodation for a family holiday or for friends wanting to holiday together.

Rye is charming and this is a good location for exploring it. We also went to the Great Dixter Garden which was amazing. We took the local bus along to Hythe one day and found it historic and charming.

Owner's Response: Hi Valerie, I hope you had a safe journey back to Canada! Thank you for your lovely review, I'm pleased to hear that you enjoyed Great Dixter - It really is a lovely day out. Hythe is great too of course, next time, you should try travelling there from Dungeness on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway - you might find yourself taking the breeze behind one of their glorious steam engines with everybody waving at you along the way. Do come back and see us again. Louise.

Comfortable, light, lovely few nights in Rye

  • 5 of 5

Stayed 3 nights, 4 adults, one child and a baby. Bedrooms on separate floors prevent baby disturbing everyone.

Plenty of room and nicely equipped, could easily have stayed longer.

Convenient location, garage great for one car and if more public car parks close and not expensive.

Louise, very helpful, thank you.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely review Ken. It was a pleasure to have you stay at The Old Boathouse and I'm glad that the sun was shining for you, in spite of the cold weather! With very best wishes.

SPACIOUS, CLEAN, COMFORTABLE AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING!

  • 5 of 5

The boat house is amazing - it is clean, comfortable and extremely spacious. A loaf of bread, milk, jam/marmalade and a bottle of wine was left on the table/fridge upon our arrival which was very kind of the owners.

The boat house makes an excellent base for exploring all of Rye and beyond - we loved it, our kids loved it and I am sure anybody booking this fantastic accommodation will love it too.

Highly recommended!
