Trebarwith. Beautiful newly renovated comfortable house 3 minutes walk to beach

Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

Short walk to beach.

ADVICE ABOUT ONLINE BOOKING - should you 'BOOK NOW' the price you are quoted will include an additional fee of approximately 10% which is payable to Owners Direct/HomeAway for their 'Book With Confidence' guarantee. This is not a cancellation insurance. You will be asked to pay this by credit card.

Please use the 'ENQUIRE' button if you need to ask me any questions about the property before you book.

CLIFFSIDE, as its name suggests, sits imposingly on the side of the cliffs leading down to the beautiful sandy beach at Trebarwith Strand. Built around 1910, the property has been totally and tastefully renovated during 2016/17 and will be ready for the first visitors from April. The house offers wonderful sea views from the lounge, garden and most bedrooms. Just a short walk of around three minutes will take you to the beach and the cliff pathways.

The property is the left hand side of the building shown.

The house will comfortably accommodate 5 people (plus 1 on a guest bed) in three bedrooms. One bedroom has a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room (large shower enclosure, basin and WC), another has the option of a zip-link super-king bed or twin single beds. The third smaller room has a single bed with the possibility of an additional pull out single guest bed. Please note with the guest bed out, it would take up most of the space in the room.

Also on the first floor is a bathroom with bath and shower over, basin and WC.

Downstairs is a large, light open-planned lounge dining room with door onto the garden which has a patio area and gravel. There is a wood burner in here plus Sky TV (entertainment package with box-sets) and a Blu-ray DVD player. The adjoining kitchen is well equipped with usual facilities plus dishwasher, microwave, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There is also a cloakroom on the ground floor.

Central heating via an oil fired external boiler makes this a cosy property at any time of year.

Electric and oil included in rental charges. Kiln-dried logs and kindling will be provided for the first night of your stay but for the remainder they can be purchased locally.

Bed linen and house towels (not beach towels) provided.

Sorry no pets accepted at Cliffside.

There is a house phone with call advice and unlimited Wi-Fi.

Please note there is no private parking space at Cliffside, however there is some free road-side parking close-by (50 yards). There is also a public car park just across the road. The car park charges from 9am to 5pm from mid March to the end October (approx). Daily charge is £6.30 but there are cheaper rates for less than a full day. Best thing to do - get a car park ticket for a few hours when you arrive to take you to 5pm. Then when Trebarwith empties of visitors in the evening, grab a road side free space. If you have days out you need only pay for parking when you get back to the house until 5pm then get back on the road.

We have stopped at Trebarwith Strand before, and I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw it on the internet! The reality did not disappoint! Beautifully decorated, well thought out, brilliantly equipped kitchen (even got our teenage daughters cooking!!). Just what we needed for our half term break. Leisurely breakfasts, lazy mornings doing one or two of the many jigsaws, waiting for the tide to go out for a quick surf. Followed by a stroll along the cliff tops. After a drink at the pub, evenings were spent playing one of the games and watching DVDs, I would say "curled up in front of the fire" but after the second day of lighting the fire and having to open the patio door coz it was too warm, we decided not to light it again!! (it was a very mild/dry October half term!). We did not need to contact Jayne (the lady who manages the property) but have stopped at one of the other cottages she manages and she has always been so helpful. Parking was never an issue, always managed to get a spot on the road. Our only suggestions regarding this property would be an outside covered area for hanging wetsuits/beach gear up to dry. We were fortunate with the weather and were able to hang them on the line.

Owner's Response: Thank you for you great comments and so pleased you enjoyed your holiday. As you know, the house has been completely refurbished but time ran out for doing the outside area before the summer season arrived. This work is planned for the coming month so huge improvements in that area expected! Hope you can come back again soon to see them,

A very well appointed spacious house close to the sea.

  • 4 of 5

We were 4 friends visiting the area to explore and walk some of the coastal paths. The house has been very well modernised and tastefully furnished. The kitchen was very well equipped with high quality appliances. Beds were very comfortable with good pillows and bedding. Bathrooms were also fitted to a high standard. We used the wood burner which made the lounge very cosy. We also sat outside in the sunshine and enjoyed the view. Everything has been thought of provided for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Historic looking outside, clean and fresh inside!

  • 5 of 5

We were in the UK a little over three weeks staying the majority of time in Home Away properties. By far this was the hands down favorite of our group of four. It was well decorated and equipped with many thoughtful touches which made this place our home while we were in Trebarwith Strand. I wish we had booked for longer and eliminated the next place we lodged. The location was spectacular and had access to many wonderful coastal walks.

The property manager, Jayne, was extremely helpful and had a quick response time. Bravo to the owners for such a superb job on the renovation.

Great house in a lovely spot

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house. It has been recently refurbished to be both extremely tasteful and very practical. Perfectly located for a short walk to two lovely pubs. Surfing great at Trebarwith although the tides weren't ideal for us so surfing was less than we would have liked. Lovely cliff walks. we would definitely recommend this to family and friends.

Beautifully renovated house in a great location

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautifully renovated house with great attention to detail. The house is extremely well equipped making it feel like a home from home. The Sky TV and wifi are excellent. The beds and linens are extremely comfortable.

There is a hot drinks and biscuit welcome pack with fresh semi-skimmed milk in the fridge, this was gratefully received after the long journey! There is a nespresso machine so don't forget the capsules!

Although there is no dedicated parking this was not a problem with the free on road parking just down from the property or using the public car park opposite.

The beach is a 3-4 minute walk from the house and is beautiful at all times, enjoy a walk along the beach, and then a Cornish Tea or a crab sandwich at the Strand Cafe, or something a bit stronger in the Port William Pub!

I would highly recommend this to my friends and family and I will definitely be returning!

Fabulous Cornish Treasure

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful property with stunning views of the coastline.

The house is well furnished and we loved the log burning stove in the front room.

With a well equipped kitchen we felt very 'at home'.

We used the 2 double bedrooms during our stay, which were large and had ample space and clothes storage.

Parking was easy either outside the house or in the car park opposite.

The beach is only a 5 min walk away, with a friendly family pub for food and refreshments.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to visit again.

Tintagel is a small holiday town famous for King Arthur’s castle and offers much in the way of historic interest. There are several shops here and many pubs and cafes offering a good selection of places to eat out. And of course the Old Post Office which is a fascinating glimpse into a past way of life.

Trebarwith Strand is about 3 miles from Tintagel by road and connected by the coastal path, which surrounds Cornwall. The coast path is easily accessible offering lovely walks with beautiful cliff scenery. Trebarwith is a valley with one road leading to a sandy beach. There are two car parks making this beach easy to get to. At high tide, the beach is completely covered ensuring up to a mile of clean sand at low tide. There are two pubs in Trebarwith both offering good meals. The Port William overlooks the bay and the Mill House is set in a wooded valley.

There are several good sandy beaches within easy driving distance, Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Bude and Widemouth Bay to name but a few. Boscastle and Port Isaac offer fishing and sailing trips. Excellent golf facilities exist in nearby Camelford, Rock and Launceston. Cycle along the Camel Trail (cycle hire available in Wadebridge and Padstow). Visit the wonderful Eden Project, about 45 minutes by road. There are a host of tourist attractions all within easy reach for days out from Lands End to West Devon, and Bodmin Moor is only five miles away.

Art lovers will enjoy the many local craft centres and the Tate Gallery at St. Ives.

History addicts will run out of time before exploring all the churches and museums.

Literature fans can enjoy finding out about Thomas Hardy’s and Daphne du Maurier’s links with this part of the country.

For a selection of walking routes in the area have a look at www.iwalknorthcornwall.co.uk

Or you could just spend all day on the beach!
