Romantic Designer Loft with Views over Lake in grounds of Medieval Old Rectory

Bedrooms 1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

About the property

1 bedroom open plan apartment with stunning interior design by "Jimmie Martin"

The Old Rectory is situated in the beautiful Cotswold village of Withington surrounded by rolling countryside. It is an outstanding Grade II* building dating from Medieval times. The village has a pub, Church and a post box. Cheltenham and Cirencester are 8 miles and 9 miles and offer a wide range of shopping and recreational facilities. There are many surrounding Cotswold villages to explore and walks around the Village of Withington itself.

The main house dates from around 1300 and is situated in a beautiful Cotswolds village with a pub serving food in a delightful pub garden. The Old Rectory is next door to the Church. The farmhouse loft is a newly created apartment which occupies the whole of the top floor of the farmhouse wing with views over the lawn and woodland. The farmhouse wing has its own entrance which leads into a beautiful double height reception hallway with wood burning stove. A flight of stone steps and then a flight of wooden steps lead up to the main apartment. The owners live in a different wing of the house altogether accessed through different doors, so the space does feel very private. The Farmhouse wing overlooks a paddock and also the front of the house, with far reaching views over the lake in front of the Main house.

Lovely, relaxing loft in a beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I really enjoyed spending a weekend here. The town, Withington, is very charming and the location is scenic (one window overlooks a lake and you are just next to the town church). The loft is very comfortable and has everything you need for a weekend away. A nice place to relax in the fresh air!

Really tasteful, historic accommodations in wonderfully small, quintessentially English town

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying in the Rectory! The renovations beautifully updated the structure while retaining the bones and feeling of its history. The view of the countryside was so picturesque! We appreciated the high quality shampoo, etc. (Mason & Miller) and shortbread left by the owners!

We highly recommend the little restaurant/pub, the Mill Inn, that's a 5 minute walk from the Rectory. Paul, the owner is charming and everyone enjoying a meal or drink there was so amiable. My meal of curried chicken was delicious and satisfying and the fire in the large fireplace was an added pleasure. Restaurant/pubs like this in small villages are genuine treasures!

The loft room, adjacent to the local church, was absolutely 'heavenly'!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I visited Withington for a long weekend at the end of August to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was a special venue. The loft room has been modernised to an exceptional standard. The accommodation was very comfortable and well appointed. The loft room is set within The Rectory in the shadow of the village church. (Yes, the church has a bell tower.. and yes, the bells do ring!! but this only adds to the ambience of the property). The host, Mark, was quick to respond to enquiries and provided us with all the information we needed to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. A lovely welcome basket greeted us on our arrival as well as a chilled bottle of champagne to kick start our celebrations. A lovely weekend. Thank you.

Design apartment in a historical building in the heart of Cotswolds

  • 5 of 5

We are a couple with a 2-year-old child. We spent two nights in this lovely apartment in the heart of Cotswold. The location is great - in the centre of the picturesque village with easy access to other places in Cotswold. The historical building has its own character with beautiful surrounding. The room looks exactly like in the photos - beautifully designed, decorated with taste, luxurious and super clean. The communication with the owner went smoothly. There has always been a fast reply, whenever we asked any questions. We will definitely want to come again. Thanks for hosting us.
