Bumble cottage is very comfortable with modern conveniences whilst retaining the atmosphere of an old property. The cottage is set on a quiet road off the main village street with private parking, a rarity in Devon. The sheltered position means that the garden becomes a real sun trap whilst the summerhouse gives views across to Dartmoor. In summer you can watch Ravens nesting close by and House Martins and Swallows wheeling overhead. Wonderful walks down to the River Dart accessible without getting into your car. New from January 2018 all linen and towels will be provided.

About Mrs Jenny Steele
My husband and I have recently retired and now have the time to focus our attention on our two holiday cottages. Between holiday lets we spend as much time as possible in our cottage in Devon as we love the area of the South Hams. We are also delighted to enable people to enjoy the wonderful City of Oxford and surrounding area whilst staying at our cottage in Wheatley.
Mrs Jenny Steele purchased this Cottage in 1998
Why Mrs Jenny Steele chose Totnes
We love the South Hams and were delighted to find a traditional cottage in a village location near the estuary to the river Dart.

charming cottage, nicely decorated especially upstairs which is light and airy
Really enjoyed staying in Bumble cottage, we are keen walkers and once we'd found the footpaths we were in our element , Madruth pub a very short walk away is interesting as the Landlady is quite mad but in a good way and she serves delicious meals.
We hope to return as there is much to visit in the surrounding area.
All in all a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday
Many thanks for your complimentary review and so pleased you enjoyed your time in Bumble Cottage.
Wonderful, charming Bumble cottage. My wife, daughter and her friend found it charming.
What a lovely surprise Bumble cottage was.
We had a lovely stay in your charming and surprisingly well equipped cottage.
The back garden was just “icing on the cake” for what this cottage offered.
Thank you Jenny.
My one concern in leaving my comments is that if I decide to rent next year they made others rent before us!

Cottage with a pretty garden on a quiet, village street with a parking space.
We had a lovely time at Bumble Cottage. It was clean and comfortable and the garden is SO pretty. We enjoyed eating outside with the sound of the birds around us. It was wonderfully located for the places we needed to reach and I was pleased to be able to walk the dog through Charleycombe Wood down to Bow Creek. Lovely.
Everything you need provided.
Clean, cosy cottage. Everything provided. Great place.
Cosy cottage for idealic stay in the South Hams
Our extended stay at Bumble Cottage in March and early April included some extra cool temps, rain, and even snow! No matter. After our invigorating days of coastal walks or rambles in nearby Dartmoor, we looked forward to this warm and cosy haven to warm ourselves by the fire, prepare a meal in a well equipped diner, and have a great night’s sleep in the very comfortable bed. There was no lack of excellent pubs in nearby villages and we found out the local pub in Cornworthy in reopening under new management in May, 2018. The easily accessed nearby towns of Totnes and Dartmouth provide excellent shopping and entertainment possibilities. The well maintained sunny and private garden would be very pleasant for meals in warmer months. If you want a reasonably priced cottage from which to explore this lovely part of Devon, look no further.
Nice cottage in a quite location, shame about the pub being closed, their web site for the pub is still showing open, means a bit of a trip to Watermans Arms or Malster Arms for a pint. The slugs were a concern in the Kitchen on the floor and climbing up the wall. Also under the dinning room table in the lounge / dinning area. In the mornings slug trails across carpet, not very nice to clean before you eat., The window frames could do with a clean inside and the bedroom duvet are old and need replacing, (thin) n.
Thanks you for your comments about slugs. The issue has only recently come to light and will be sorted out as soon as possible. Duvets are regularly replaced every two years and we are just at the end of a two year period. Maintenance is carried out each winter and the window frames will be addressed then.
