The Chalet is a lovely hideaway in a wild country garden 4 miles from both the North and South coast of Cornwall.
Ideally situated for exploring the West of the county with its beautiful beaches, coastal walks and unspoilt villages and harbours.
Having its own entrance gate and parking, 50yds from owners cottage,it gives completely secluded studio accommodation with separate kitchen and shower. The balcony on 2 sides catches the sun or there is a small grassy area a few steps down where many guests enjoy the evening sun for a bbq or dinner outdoors. I encourage guests to wander around my lovely garden and feel free to enjoy it.
The nearest town is Helston,4 miles away, famous for the Flora Day in spring, it has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. In the opposite direction is Hayle, with its 4 miles of golden sand beaches, more shops and pubs. There are nearer beaches which I can tell you about but
the chalet has maps and plenty of information including previous guests' favourite places,
There are village pubs a short trip away from the Chalet, or why not enjoy a barbecue at home in the peaceful and beautiful garden.
Included in the cost:
Bed linen, bathroom towels (please bring your own beach towels)
Kitchen basics -t/towels and cloths,
Whenever possible I provide honey from my own bees, eggs from my hens and fruit and veg from my garden too.
Some mobile phone networks have patchy reception in the Chalet, may need to walk around the garden a bit!
WIFI is available in the Chalet, I have upgraded the range extender this year ,2016, but pleased be aware signal still comes and goes so cannot be relied on- sorry - this is Cornwall!
The chalet is in a wonderful garden which is there for guests to enjoy and I like guests to wander at ease anywhere. We are surrounded by fields with lovely walks in every direction, along lanes, over streams, across fields, to hilltops with views over the whole of West Cornwall from one coast to the other.
I like to greet guests on arrival if possible, otherwise ask a friend to be there. Then gauge how much help or advice they may need and leave them to their own plans.
I am usually around in the garden somewhere for any help needed but try to leave guests to enjoy the privacy the Chalet offers.
Trenwheal is a small hamlet just off the Helston/ Hayle road. Some of us work ,some are retired or semi-retired ,like myself. We all know each other ,look out for each other but try to keep it a peaceful slow place to live. So please don't come speeding down the lane - there are horses and pets and children that roam freely.
