Why Phil Buckley chose Kaş
Villa Bakajak has a great location and means that it is very easy to pop on one of the many local buses that run in and out of town all day or get away from it all and stay on the peaceful peninsula.
What makes this Villa unique
The villa was built and designed by us and used as a family home for 5 years. It therefore is very family friendly but also has many extra facilities that you would not expect in a rental villa. Our love of Turkey is reflected in the large library and interior decoration of the house.

Perfect villa in a wonderful place
We had a fantastic holiday at Villa Bakajak , the weather was amazing & the villa was just as good.
We arrived at a very clean & well equipped villa that was true to the listed description , there was eight of us aged between 20-54 yrs & we never felt crowded.
The swimming pool and sunbathing area's were first class as were the amazing views from the rear of the villa , to the side of the house was a full size table tennis table with bats & balls provided which was used daily especially by the men.
As the weather was so good all our time was outside , where there was a large shaded area with table & chairs for morning breakfast & evening dinner if we stayed in.
Outside of the villa the local bus stops every half hour for the 5 min trip into Kas , however as there was eight of us we used the local taxi ( 25 TL ) for 4 people.
Kas town is a wonderful place , packed with good restaurants & many interesting shops for the ladies , our favourite paces to eat were Zeytin in the square & Panorama by the harbour, best bar - The Hideaway.
This is was our third holiday to Kas , our first with the family , would we go back ? , of course !

A real treat
Villa Bakajak is everything it seems from the photos (ie these pictures are not hiding some awful truth) and so much more besides. Spacious, light, airy and well-appointed with very comfortable beds, the villa was the perfect place to spend two weeks relaxing and from which to explore the ancient Roman settlements and 'signposts' of the Lycian way. Fifteen minutes or so outside Kas, the villa has stunning views of the bay and is very peaceful at all times of day and night. An outside fan over the dining table would help with both temperature and insects but that is the only criticism I could make. The owner, Alison, is lovely and very helpful. You absolutely do need to have a car to get about though the bus (it stops outside the house) into Kas is fine for the odd trip.
Ideal place for all my family (10)
The villa was absolutely ideal for the 10 of us, youngest 12. The location perfect for swimming, shopping, dining out, boat trips etc,all excellent.
Alison the local agent was absolutely marvelous, always available when required(not often) and extremely cheerful and helpful at all times. The local people very friendly an obliging. Thanks Alison, you certainly helped us enjoy a wonderful week, we should have made it longer, Kas has not seen the last of us.
There are many swimming platform areas on the peninsula and one beach, all within a five minute drive from the villa. Further afield you will find the stunning sandy beach of Patara and the dramatic cove of Kaputas.
Although car hire is recommended for further exploration of the area the local bus service which runs in and out of Kas every half an hour stops 10meters away from the villa, making Kas town very accessible.
Dalaman airport is 160km from Kas and is the closest airport, Antalya airport is 195Km away. Airport transfers and car hire can all be arranged very easily.
The villa is a 5 minute drive from Kas town, 20 minutes from Kaputas beach, 25 minutes from Kalkan, 40 minutes from Patara Beach, and 40 minutes from Demre.
The South-western coast of Turkey is often considered to be the finest of all the Mediterranean coastlines. The waters are clear and deeply coloured, giving rise to the name 'The Turquoise Coast'. Kas is a small, charming harbour town set in a deep bay and against a steep hillside. It fortunately does not attract mass tourism and is an excellent base for walks, visits to a rich array of ancient sites, adventure and water sports or simply for chilling out and enjoying the spectacular views. Located between the Mediterranean and the Taurus mountains the region was known as Lycia in ancient times and in Kas you can see some of the remains of its rich history. Dotted about the town are rock tombs, sarcophagi and the road leading out to the peninsula houses the ancient theatre which still holds various performances throughout the year. At the heart of the town are the tea gardens, a pedestrianised area which over-looks the harbour and is the perfect place to enjoy a freshly squeezed orange juice or a beer and watch the world go by. Kas has a great selection of restaurants and bars situated in the town centre or in one of the many backstreet's in the old town. The shops offer a wide range of Turkish handicrafts including leather goods, copper and silver, towels and linens, clothing and of course the famous hand made carpets.
We are closely connected to the largest Adventure Travel company in Kas and can arrange diving, walking, boat hire, sea kayaking, para gliding, mountain biking, canyoning and excursions for those people who are interested.
