My husband, and I, and our young son live on the top three floors of the house (floors 4, 5 & 6).
The lower floors we have converted into completely separate & very private guest apartments (all independent entry) available for short term let year-round.
!! We operate LEGALLY: we are not an apartment building, but a single-family owner-occupied home !!
OWNERS and Maintenance Personnel are ON PREMISES AT ALL TIMES
(this means you can also arrive any time, e.g. after midnight).

Rates are ALL INCLUSIVE (include all fees & taxes ).
We are very mindful about whom we host.
So once we decide to host a family, I and my team do EVERYTHING to make and keep our guests happy... and whatever we can do for you, we shall do it at no additional charge.
There are absolutely NO extra fees or charges:
all taxes, utility charges, TV cable usage, wi-fi broadband internet, housekeeping/maid service, personal laundry service, final cleaning,
printing, package/parcel acceptance any time prior to arrival, et al are included in the rate.
[ Nota bene: upon request we arrange AIRPORT TRANSFERS (suv or sedan). However settling with the driver is guests' responsibility.
The car service that we use do offer our guests very good rates and all airport rates are set. ]
Our rates vary from week to week, depending on demand, as measured by the going rates at local hotels and the demand data that I have accumulated while hosting guests for the last 9 years.
Rates depend on a number of factors:
- your specific travel dates (high demand vs low demand, weekdays vs weekend),
- the length of your stay (longer stays is less expensive per diem),
- filling the odd 1 to 3 night occupancy gaps between our longer reservations will also lower your per diem rate,
- quoted rates are for 1-2 persons, additional daily charges apply if greater than that.
Additional occasional DISCOUNTS are offered:
- to members of academia,
- to large families who might need the courtesy,
- due to last minute cancellations.
Depending on season and apartment daily rates range from $250 for the gap nights for our Small apartment to above the starting rate of $750 for Large apartments.
Please note that the lowest rate listed is offered only for specific dates which will allow us to close the gaps left in our schedule between periods of longer occupancy.

~65sqm/700sqft 3rd floor, VERY BRIGHT faces quiet tree-lined street ideal for large families 2 rooms: very large living room + small bedroom with door + kitchen + bathroom SLEEPS up to 8 adults in 5 BEDS in 4 separate SLEEPING AREAS: 1) King bed (193×203cm) in bedroom; 2&3) TWO set away from the living area and not visible to each other TWIN beds (99x203cm), one of those areas is almost completely private ; 4) in the sitting area across from each other there are TWO very comfortable easy to operate QUEEN sofa-beds (153x203cm) for 2 adults each. ** NB: none of the photos and videos reflect the recent renovations in the Loft. - We have built a solid wall between the bedroom and the living area... expanded the Loft and added a new semi-private sleeping area with a 2nd Twin bed… built a large closet... redecorated and refurnished a bit. - Now the White Loft is even whiter than it was… We are very happy with the way the renovations turned out !!!
This property is listed by its Owners (a married couple with a young son) that live on the premises on the upper floors (4,5,6). The Owners have lived in The Townhouse for over 26 years and have been hosting guests on a short- and mid-term basis for the past 9 years.
Full time staff also live with us.
The task of the staff is to take care of daily needs of our guests.
We do everything we can for our guests and ALWAYS at no additional charge. - We do not nickle and dime...
We sincerely want our guests to be as happy as possible with their overall experience of New York and not just the stay in our house. So we go out of our way to help... and do everything we can.
The owners are available at all times to help with any of the guests needs and are always there to welcome our guests.
There is always someone at the house to answer the door 24 hours a day.
So you can arrive after midnight or at 6 in the morning and we shall welcome you with a smile.
Nothing is too much of a hassle for us...
and we also arrange airport transportation.
Obviously this house is also our home and even though it is a BIG house we do feel the 'energy' of the guests that stay under the same roof with us...

Julia and Claudio - owners, live in the same Townhouse purchased this apartment in 1990
My family had a wonderful stay at the Grand White Loft for a week. It was clean, nicely maintained. Service was good, anything I pointed out that needed fixing was done right away. It's a one bedroom apt with a king bed in the bedroom, 2 twin beds set in the nooks of the living room that provided some privacy for each of my 3 children age 12 and under, along with 2 full size sofa beds. Our plane delayed and we arrived really late at night. Upon arrival my children became hungry. Luckily, the owners stocked the kitchen with food: Fruits, yogurt, buns/deli meat for sandwichs, drinks and even beer for the travel-tired. The kitchen has a stove top, microwave and full size fridge. It was great to have the flexibility to whip up some quick french toast and scrambled eggs for my kids while the others sleep in, instead of having to wait for everyone to wake up to go out for breakfast at the hotel next door. Microwave was great for heating up leftovers from the restaurants. Given it was pretty hot, we bought loads of ice cream and kept them in the freezer, which came in very handy. My kids loved the double shower heads in the bathroom, it was efficient (and fun). They also provided daily personal laundry service which was wonderful for a family of 5! As such, when I got home, I only had to do 1 day worth of laundry! It's great not having to do laundry during vacation or after vacation. We had a car, although annoying to have to move it on certain days of the week due to street cleaning ordinance, it was nice to be able to park the car right in the street of the townhouse. One of the greatest advantage was the location. We walked to the Met Museum twice (just 4 blocks away, the Morgan library is also 4 blocks away the opposite direction of the Met and Guggenhem is 4 more blocks passed the MET), walked around the corner to nice pastries and cappucinos (at Sant Ambroeus). Took the kids to central park a few times, which is right outside the building. They played at the children sprinkler park that is just a few blocks down. The boat pond is right on the same street as the building as well where you can rent remote controlled sailboats. The subway was also just a few blocks away. One night at 9pm, we hopped onto the subway and went down to Greenwich village for coffee/snack and NYU where I went to school. It was very convenient. Overall, everyone enjoyed the convenience of the location, the quietness, safeness of the neigborhood and the comfortable apt.
Julia and Cladio sent a car to pick us up at the airport so there was no stress finding where we needed to go. Julia greeted us at the door and shared some nieghborhood tips. The townhome was beautifully decorated and maintained. We loved the cental location and the entire charm of the nieghborhood. A truely unique New York City experience.
My co-workers and I stayed in the "Great White Loft" on our recent business trip to New York for 4 nights. The moment we walked up onto the steps we knew this was no ordinary place to stay in New York. Julia greeted us at the front door, helped us with all of our luggage (6 women have A LOT of luggage) and showed us to our room. The space was absolutely perfect for us! Julia gave us an extremely helpful rundown of the apartment, amenities, and places nearby to shop and eat. She then handed us the key and we were off to explore! The location is (in our opinion) the BEST New York has to offer. Central Park is 20 steps away from the front door! SO many places are within walking distance and anything else you need is just a short cab ride away. We all felt extremely safe at all hours of the day/night. The room was always fully stocked with towels and the on site housekeeping service was amazing! We even had a package sent to the apartment and it was waiting for us upon arrival. The beds and sofa beds were very comfortable. Booking the house was a breeze and after speaking with Julia on the phone I felt very secure in our choice. She really goes above and beyond for all of her guests! Needless to say, I will absolutely be staying here again and can't wait for the next trip! Our stay was a dream!
This was a great place to stay. Julia is an excellent and attentive hostess. It is exactly as advertised, and worth every cent. I would stay here again.
The apartment we rented was perfect for our needs during the week we were in New York. Even though the townhouse is large, we felt like we had our own apartment. Julia was very attentive to our needs, and made sure we were very comfortable. We enjoyed the daily maid service, and they even did our laundry (which was great). We really enjoyed our stay.
We absolutely loved our stay in The Grande Central Loft. Julia was a delightful host, a wealth of information and nothing too much trouble. It was great having local knowledge and living like a local away from the madness of downtown, touristy places. Immaculately clean, daily service including washing was a luxury especially when away from home for a long period. Hope to be back again one day.
