23 guests total can be comfortably accommodated among our 5 Flats.
Children of all ages are welcome. (Cribs available in all units).
My husband, and I, and our young son live on the top three floors of the house (floors 4, 5 & 6).
The lower floors we have converted into completely separate & very private guest apartments (all independent entry) available for short term let year-round.
!! We operate LEGALLY: we are not an apartment building, but a single-family owner-occupied home !!
OWNERS and Maintenance Personnel are ON PREMISES AT ALL TIMES
(this means you can also arrive any time, e.g. after midnight).
Daily maid / HOUSEKEEPING service INCLUDED with every reservation.

Very limited traffic during the day (a car passes at very slow speed every few minutes) and there are almost no vehicles at night.
Naturally no other nuisances of staying in a hotel or a regular apartment building: no noisy neighbors, no slamming doors, no barking dogs...
Moreover, the house is only 30 steps to an Entrance to Central Park.
Our immediate street block is one of the most sought-after and safest block to own and stay. In fact, several buildings on our block belong to foreign governments.

If you do not see something you need, please ask for any time during your stay, we shall either tell you where it is or deliver it to you usually within 10 minutes.
Again: we offer everything you would expect from a carefully setup guest apartment (hair-dryer, umbrellas, iron and ironing board, etc ).

Rates are ALL INCLUSIVE (include all fees & taxes ).
We are very mindful about whom we host.
So once we decide to host a family, I and my team do EVERYTHING to make and keep our guests happy... and whatever we can do for you, we shall do it at no additional charge.
There are absolutely NO extra fees or charges:
all taxes, utility charges, TV cable usage, wi-fi broadband internet, housekeeping/maid service, personal laundry service, final cleaning,
printing, package/parcel acceptance any time prior to arrival, et al are included in the rate.
[ Nota bene: upon request we arrange AIRPORT TRANSFERS (suv or sedan). However settling with the driver is guests' responsibility.
The car service that we use do offer our guests very good rates and all airport rates are set. ]
Our rates vary from week to week, depending on demand, as measured by the going rates at local hotels and the demand data that I have accumulated while hosting guests for the last 9 years.
Rates depend on a number of factors:
- your specific travel dates (high demand vs low demand, weekdays vs weekend),
- the length of your stay (longer stays is less expensive per diem),
- filling the odd 1 to 3 night occupancy gaps between our longer reservations will also lower your per diem rate,
- quoted rates are for 1-2 persons, additional daily charges apply if greater than that.
Additional occasional DISCOUNTS are offered:
- to members of academia,
- to large families who might need the courtesy,
- due to last minute cancellations.
Depending on season and apartment daily rates range from $250 for the gap nights for our Small apartment to above the starting rate of $750 for Large apartments.
Please note that the lowest rate listed is offered only for specific dates which will allow us to close the gaps left in our schedule between periods of longer occupancy.

This property is listed by its Owners (a married couple with a young son) that live on the premises on the upper floors (4,5,6). The Owners have lived in The Townhouse for over 26 years and have been hosting guests on a short- and mid-term basis for the past 9 years.
Full time staff also live with us.
The task of the staff is to take care of daily needs of our guests.
We do everything we can for our guests and ALWAYS at no additional charge. - We do not nickle and dime...
We sincerely want our guests to be as happy as possible with their overall experience of New York and not just the stay in our house. So we go out of our way to help... and do everything we can.
The owners are available at all times to help with any of the guests needs and are always there to welcome our guests.
There is always someone at the house to answer the door 24 hours a day.
So you can arrive after midnight or at 6 in the morning and we shall welcome you with a smile.
Nothing is too much of a hassle for us...
and we also arrange airport transportation.
Obviously this house is also our home and even though it is a BIG house we do feel the 'energy' of the guests that stay under the same roof with us...
Thus, we speak to all our guest before we confirm their stays. And we make sure to personally greet them when they arrive and we are also there to say goodbye...

Julia and Claudio - owners, live in the same Townhouse purchased this apartment in 1990
This was a great place to stay. Julia is an excellent and attentive hostess. It is exactly as advertised, and worth every cent. I would stay here again.
The apartment we rented was perfect for our needs during the week we were in New York. Even though the townhouse is large, we felt like we had our own apartment. Julia was very attentive to our needs, and made sure we were very comfortable. We enjoyed the daily maid service, and they even did our laundry (which was great). We really enjoyed our stay.
We absolutely loved our stay in The Grande Central Loft. Julia was a delightful host, a wealth of information and nothing too much trouble. It was great having local knowledge and living like a local away from the madness of downtown, touristy places. Immaculately clean, daily service including washing was a luxury especially when away from home for a long period. Hope to be back again one day.
Our family (parents and 2 children ages 16 and 12) for our 12-year old's birthday week. We had a great time. The townhome is bright and cheerful, with a small (but totally adequate) kitchen. The street is quiet, and residential, just off 5th Avenue, walk to great restaurants, museums, shopping and subway and bus lines. We went to the theater, ate in the fabulous restaurants recommended by Julia, and explored the UES with ease. Thanks for a fabulous stay, we hope to return.
We are a family of five, two adults and three teenagers and we find it more and more difficult to please everyone’s needs from a holiday. So after careful planning, we decided to end our two week vacation in the US with 4 days and nights in NYC.
Creature comforts are very important to me and I am extremely fussy about where we stay as I like a “home from home” experience. The Grand White Loft Apartment ticked all our boxes and I can thoroughly recommend it for both families or professional couples that are on business or just want a short pleasure break away.
Perfectly located, its makes a great base as everything you need is just a block or two away. We sent the kids off to the Bagel shop every morning whilst the grown ups headed off to Joe’s for the best coffee in town. Note, there is an excellent convenience store only a short walk away, so ideal if you don’t want to eat out as you can grab something fresh from the deli and take it back to the house.
Julia was very accommodating and made us feel most welcome in her amazing home. The housekeeper was lovely and she couldn’t do enough to ensure that our stay was more than comfortable. Every day she would not only make up all the beds, but ensured that the apartment was clean and tidy and looked after all our laundry during our stay.
Each and every one of us had a super comfortable bed with crisp fresh cotton linen, as it should be when you are on holiday.
My husband and I will definitely be returning as a professional working couple and we would also like to come back as a family to explore more of the Big Apple.
Do not look any further for somewhere to stay, as you will not find better.
We had a great stay in this magnificient loft. We are 3 adults and 2 young teens from Denmark and stayed for a week.
Location was great: just 100 meters from Central Park. The street was nice and clean.
The apartment was beautiful and clean - and despite facing the street, very quiet.
The housekeeper was very sweet and flexible.
The host Julia did everything she could to make us comfortable - and succeded :)
