This apartment is called The W B Yeats after the famous Irish poet.

We have just completed work on this apartment and have restored it to some of it's former glory with original features such as the marble fireplaces, coving and a beautiful bay window overlooking Dublin city and mountains.

This apartment has been lovingly restored to a very high degree while retaining a lot of the original features to provide a classic and extremely luxurious stay. This is a luxury apartment with all the comforts of home. It is a wonderful location close to all the attractions and sights while being a relaxing bright and spacious apartment to come home to at the end of the day.

The apartment is in a beautiful large red brick Victorian building on a tree lined street. There is one large bedroom with 1 double bed and a single bed and in the living room there is 2 pull down sofas so the apartment can sleep 6 comfortably. A baby travel cot can be provided upon request.

Glencourt Apartments

Refurbished to an extremely high standard this beautiful Victorian house has all the classic charm of years gone by but has all the modern comforts of today.

Each apartment has been lovingly restored and where possible the original features have been kept such as the marble fireplace and the high ceilings with coving. This gives a feeling of space and airiness that is hard to find in modern accommodations.

All of our apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, cooker, fridge, iron, ironing board and hairdryer to make sure that your stay is as comfortable as can be.

Freshly laundered bed clothes and towels are also provided.

Laundry facilities are available also to guests free of charge.

Maps and information leaflets are provided in the apartment to help guests choose the best sights and things to do and see while staying there.

There is an excellent bus service right outside the front door so you can reach downtown in 10 minutes or less. Buses run regularly and are reliable. We suggest getting a Leap card to make life easier as most buses require exact change.

We are just a 3 minute walk from the supermarket which also has a pharmacy, bakery and butchers so you will have everything you need.

There are some lovely restaurants just 10 minute walks away and some wonderful pubs that play Irish music nightly.

The famous Guinness Storehouse is close at hand as well as the Jameson Distillery both of which run tours regularly and are worth a visit. Dublin is also renowned for it's famous Temple bar area for entertainment which is a bus ride away.

For art lovers the Irish Museum of Modern Art is 15 minutes away and the National Museum of Ireland is 10 minutes away.

Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol, Ryan's Victorian Pub, St. Patricks Cathedral, are just some other of the many wonderful attractions that are available.

If you enjoy a stroll in the park then you are perfectly located to visit the beautiful Phoenix Park which has a playground and houses Dublin Zoo. It is well worth a visit and is only an 8 minute walk away. Bike hire is available here also.

For a small fee we can provide an airport transfer if requested and for anyone hiring a car there is free on street parking right outside the house.

All utilities and WiFi are included in the price also.

GUEST ACCESS

This studio is completely self contained so guests don't have to share facilities with anyone.

All utilities, Wifi and parking are provided in the price so no nasty hidden extras. Laundry facilities available at no extra cost.

There is an excellent bus service that runs right by the house and is frequent and reliable.

Airport transfer available upon request for a fee.

Bike hire in the Phoenix Park which is just 8 minutes walk away.

Key safe available for guests arriving late at night/early in the morning.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS

I manage to meet most guests on arrival but if I can't I nearly always get to meet them before they check out.

I'm always available by phone or email and am happy to assist guests in any way I can.

If I'm unable to meet guests on arrival I will email details of where to find the keys on arrival.

THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

This is a residential area and our property is located on a beautifully tree lined which runs right up the the entrance of the Phoenix Park. This park is the largest urban park in Europe and houses Dublin Zoo and the presidential home and offices as well as a children's playground. It is a wonderful park to visit and spans over 1750 acres.

The street also has beautiful Victorian red bricked houses all along it which date back to the 18th century so it really is a taste of old Dublin.

There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk as well as a pharmacy, bakery, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and many other amenities all within easy walking distance.

GETTING AROUND

There are several bus routes right outside the house which will take you directly to the city centre in less than 10 minutes.

The 46A is a bus that stops right outside the house and will take you straight into the city. Busses are regular and reliable and we suggest getting a Leap card to make paying fares a little easier. This is available from most newsagents.

You can walk to the centre of Dublin as well in approx 30 minutes.

We are just a few minutes from the light rail system called "The Luas" which services the outer regions of Dublin if you plan on exploring outside of the city centre.

Heuston Train station is approx 10 minutes by car and Connolly Station is approx 25 minutes by car.

Taxis can be arranged upon request and if you need an airport transfer we can arrange this also for a fee.

About Liam & Fiona Travers

I come from a family background in the hospitality industry.

I grew up in Kildare which is about 45 minutes from Dublin and worked for many years in my parents hotel there.

I emigrated to New York for a number of years and when I returned in 1990 I purchased this property in Dublin City.

As I am a qualified builder and carpenter I undertook to restore this house over a number of years and restore it to some of its former glory. As you can see from the pictures there are a lot of original features which I managed to retain and I am pleased that I can finally share them with people from all over the world.

I am now living in Kildare again and am married with a daughter.

As my parents before me I am committed to providing all of my guests with a wonderful holiday experience in a beautiful period house. I am available at all times for my guest either by phone or email and am happy to answer any query.

Why Liam & Fiona Travers chose Dublin

I chose this location for the proximity to the city centre and of course the beautiful Victorian Redbrick lined North Circular Road.

These properties are a feature of Dublin and are preserved by Dublin Council. The fact that the Phoenix Park and the Botanic gardens are within walking distances is an absolute plus, providing plenty of recreational activity. Numerous pubs, restaurants are within walking distance and I feel that the house provides a sense of character and charm not matched by modern buildings and houses.

What makes this apartment unique

There are a number of benefits to staying in this property. Located close to the heart of the city of Dublin there is an excellant transport system by bus and light rail that means all of the sights can be visited with the minimum of fuss. The building itself is a beautiful Victorian property that has unique charm while offering all the modern comforts that a guest could expect.

The location is ideal as it is quiet while being convenient to all shopping, sights, transport, museums etc. that makes a holiday. Located beside the Phoenix park which is Europe's largest urban park the traveller can have a taste of the country while still remaining in the city.

There truly is something for everyone.

My 6 friends and myself had a wonderful stay! Liam was super intentional about checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. The place was clean and equipped with the necessities. Location was great if you plan on using the bus system in Dublin. We were able to get around very easily. Also, we highly recommend booking airport transport if needed. Liam provided the same taxi driver for both our arrival and departure trips and we loved him! Thank you Liam!

All of our apartments located at this address have been refurbished to the highest standards. We have managed to maintain a lot of the original features such as marble fireplaces, over mantles, coving and in some of the apartments beautiful bay windows overlooking the city of Dublin. Each apartment has all mod cons and every convenience to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A fully equipped kitchen, WiFi, cable TV and parking if needed are all included in the price. Also included are freshly laundered bed linen, towels and a welcome pack and each apartment has a hairdryer and an iron. There is a laundry room located at the back of the house so that guests staying for longer periods of time can do their own laundry free of charge. Each apartment has a bathroom with a shower. Every effort has been made to provide all the comforts of home and all of our guests find our apartments charming and great value. City centre is only 10 minutes by bus which stops right outside

Great location in Dublin!!

Property is in a great location - close to the beautiful Phoenix Park, and 15 minute walk to the city center.

Liam and Fiona were fantastic hosts - provided lots of recommendations of places to see and eat at in the area, and were very accommodating with rides from and to the airport with drivers the have relationships with. We would for sure stay at their apartment again if we visit Dublin again.

Lovely, well-located, with all the amenities!

What lovely hospitality and accommodations! As a small family of 3 the WB Yeats was perfect for us. My teenage daughter was perfectly happy on the hide-a-bed and my husband and I shared the private bedroom. Our preferred way to travel is to do home rentals and we have a very simple litmus test with these criteria:

1. Communication - Liam and Fiona exceeded our expectations with describing the location, apartment and amenities. The place is not only as described, but a wonderful blend of modern and Victorian. High ceilings, beautiful furnishings and modern appliances. Every step of the way they were responsive and informative as needed.

2. Safe and Clean - The apartment is well-situated about 2. 5 miles from City Centre. We chose to walk in and out of the city each day even though the apt. is on a major bus line. It is near to local pubs, Tesco grocery store, butcher and shoppes. We felt comfortable leaving our teenager at home for a night while we explored the neighborhood. The apartment is well-maintained and kept after.

3. Logistics - We were not far from the airport. There is parking out front. Keys were easy to access. Perfect location near major sites!

4. Amenities - We had everything we needed and more! Wifi, washer/dryer and drying racks, kitchen gadgets, pans and tableware, etc. Nothing to want for.

Thanks so much! I recommend Glencourt without hesitation and have already shared this gem with friends and family!

Great apartment, great location, great landlord

We just returned from Dublin. It's a pleasure to write a positive view about the apartment we rented from Liam. It had all the conveniences we needed. We were fairly close to Smithfield Square, and O'Connell St. was about a 40-45 minute walk (we like to walk and find Dublin is a very walkable city). The restaurants on Capel St. are on the way to the city center. It's close to Phoenix Park, IMMA, and Kilmainham Gaol.

We can't say enough good things about Liam. He was always available when we had any questions, and he's a patient and very personable fella. It was a pleasure to meet you, Liam!

Great experience

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. It was clean and comfy and 2 minutes walk from the bus stop. The shower was great and the owner was always available in case of need. The driver (Garry) as well helped us a lot. We really recommend this property and hope to come back again. Beautiful place, 3 km far from the city centre, hair dryer, washing machine, dishwasher and everything you need. We felt like home. Supermarket and medical centre 5 minutes walk. Thank you for this wonderful stay! I will choose this apartment again without any doubts!

Spacious, gracious, and a wonderful place to stay!

My friend and I stayed in the W.B. Yeats suite, and it was even better than the pictures show, with mile-high (okay, 12- or 14-foot) ceilings and an enormous living/dining/kitchen area with a view in the distance of the hills surrounding Dublin. Dishwasher, washing machine, glorious shower, all the comforts of home, if you live in a very nice home. I was really pleased with the location. It feels like a Dublin neighbourhood and you can easily walk everywhere: to the National Decorative Arts & History Museum, down to the Liffey and its multiple bridges, to the Jamieson Distillery area...really, you can walk everywhere, and that is one of my favourite ways to see a new place. If you're not a walk-o-phile like me, the apartment also has excellent bus connections and buses in Dublin are great. This is a wonderful place to stay, especially since Liam is an extraordinarily genial host and he's a very present and helpful owner. I particularly liked that our suite, the W. B. Yeats, had volumes of the great poet's work on display. When you come away to Dublin, o human child, come here!

This house is a beautiful Victorian building on a tree lined street adjacent to the Phoenix Park and and Botanic Gardens situtated just 10 minutes by bus from the city centre.

There is an excellent public transport service right outside the front door so a car isn't necessary.

There is a major supermarket just 3 minutes walk away as well as a pharmacy, bakery, butchers, medical centre and a laundromat for guests that need this facility.

There are cafes, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance (max 10 minutes) and one pub in particular plays traditional Irish music nightly and has to be visited during your stay. It's an old Irish pub and people gather nightly to play here. Not to be missed!

There are also excellent restaurants so if you don't want to cook you could pop into L. Mulligan's Bistro (check out the review it got in the NY Times), Plan B, Cucina, My Thai and various cafes for that all important cup of coffee and chat.

We have eaten in all of these establishments and we couldn't fault any of them so rest assured that you won't be disappointed.

If you plan on eating in the city then it's only a short bus ride or walk to find a wealth of restaurants and places to eat that will take your breath away. The quality and standard of food in Dublin not to mention the variety is second to none so there really is something for everyone.

There are also some takeaways nearby so if you don't want to cook or if you don't want to venture out this is an option also.
