THIS CABIN HAS AIR CONDITIONING! Perfect to cool guests during the occassional summer heat spell. The cabins ambiance is the perfect mix of mountain charm with the modern conveniences of today. The living room is intimate and cozy, perfectly appointed to welcome a couple, 2 couples, or a small family.

The vaulted ceiling as well as the knotty pine tung and groove paneled walls make this a cabin lovers dream which adds to its warm and cozy feeling. Accented with antlers, stone, and a variety of mining artifacts that carry thru the historical features that brought the first settlers to Big Bear. A comfy sofa, an antler coffee table, and a log and leather accent chair make a nice social area or a comfy place to watch the large 32" TV. A DVD & VCR player has been added for extra entertainment.

A log slab separates the kitchen from the dining area. The dining table top is uniquely crafted from a variety of stones and comes with 4 cushioned chairs perfectly comfortable for holiday entertaining, game board playing, or to just sit and socialize.

The kitchen has been carefully remodeled to maintain its original charm by maintaining its knotty pine cupboards while adding modern conveniences such as a larger capacity oven and cook top with an overhead microwave for convenience. Also comes complete with a blender, toaster, and coffee maker as well as cookware, dishes, and utensils. All you need do is come and enjoy! The perfect opportunity to prepare meals in and save even more money!

The main bedroom is located downstairs in the back of the home (street noise is minimal) and offers a Queen bed. Across from the bedroom is the newly remodeled 3/4 bath which makes it convenient anytime day or night.

The upstairs bedroom is a loft and offers 2 Twin beds that can be converted into a King bed if needed and offers an additional TV with VCR & DVD. A love seat for comfort is also here.

The back deck offers a BBQ for those wishing to cook their catch of the day or steaks in the fresh mountain air. There is also a picnic table offering the comforts of outdoor dining, its wagon wheel decor brings back the old mining days of the past.

Pamper yourself by taking a dip in the cement pond (Hot Tub) just off the back deck. This is a relaxing experience anytime day or night.

Depends on your needs

Right on Big Bear Blvd so there is a lot of traffic noise. Looks like it could be a converted office space because the bathroom door has a sign on it and there are no closets. There are no dressers available for your clothes so plan on living out of your suitcase. The fence in the backyard doesn't look like the one pictured. There is no view from the yard. The jacuzzi is nice but the yard is a bit scruffy. There are foxtails so be careful if you are bringing a dog. Also be sure to bring your own towels, facecloths, etc. Other than that it was comfortable. The bedroom AC works well. The loft AC can't keep up so if you are going during the summer bring a fan. No AC in the living room so it stays pretty hot all day. Probably fine for winter weather.

There is a dresser in the master bedroom for your usage and luggage racks. The description does state that it located on Big Bear Blvd. The yard was cleaned prier to your arrival. We do recommend that our guests bring fans if they choose to. This house is one house that does have air conditioners in Big Bear and it was only 82 during your stay. We put the fenced yard up for more privacy and for your pet. We give you the option to purchase our towels at the time of booking but you opted out of them. We did bring over light bulbs right away. Also there is a ceiling fan that will pull the air downstairs and opening windows allows a breeze to flow through the living room. We're sorry for the issues you had while at our Prospector's Pick and will address them at this house promptly. Thank You For Staying With Us,The Goldrush Team

The interior of the property was very nice but the advertising and promotion are inaccurate.

The location of the cabin is close to amenities and it is clean with a good kitchen. However, the pictures of the property leads one to believe that it is set back off the road, and whilst the website says that the cabin is located near the road there is no mention that the place is directly on a main highway that has traffic running all day and all night. The cabin was therefore not an escape to the quiet countryside that we had wanted and been led to believe by the images.

The images in the pictures show a deck and full windows looking out onto it. It appears as though that if you stay there you can look out of the windows onto the deck and use the deck to relax on. This is the "deck" that is effectively the front entrance and you cannot sit on the dusty highway as there are too many cars. There is consequently no privacy at the front of the property.

The images also show a hot tub looking onto trees. This is not the case. The back yard is fenced for privacy which is good but it also means that again there is no contact with nature, so there is no real place to sit outside and relax. There are two seats on the small back deck but these are tiny and you can't really sit outside there and read. There was no table to put any drinks on etc. The website said that there was a picnic table for outside dining. There was no room to eat outside nor any provision to do so. This could be changed easily by reconfiguring the back yard space.

The people at Goldrush gave us a small outdoor table to put some drinks on which was kind, but we could still not eat outside as the website had claimed that we could.

There was one coat-hanger in the cabin. Maybe you are not supposed to hang clothes if you are going hiking for a weekend, but having a place to hang clothes would have helped.

The description posted on the website is an accurate representation of the location of the property. There is nothing in the description that leads anyone to believe that the cabin is in a countryside location. Nor does it state that it is located near the road, It clearly states, in numerous areas, that the property is located ON Big Bear Blvd. (not set back off the road). Please take another look back at the first few sentences and you will see that the first line of "Description in Brief" states such on that first line and again in the very last sentence of the description in brief. Also, please look back at your rental agreement, you will notice that the rental agreement requires guests to acknowledge by signature that they are aware that the property is on Big Bear Blvd. the rental agreement will not be accepted without your signature acknowledgment. While there are many lodges with cabins on the blvd. we like to make sure there is no confusion and feel that we have gone the extra mile to ensure guests are aware of the blvd. location prior to renting. Additionally, the complete description, as it appears on our website, is also included within your rental agreement, again, requiring a signature. We are sorry that it appears you had no idea, certainly that was not our intention. The photos are accurate aside from including the privacy fence in the back. The description does not imply or state that there is privacy in front or back of the cabin. However, the deck in front is larger than most cabins of a similar size on the blvd. and can easily be used to sit on. We have adjusted the description to reflect the absence of a dining table, that was the way it was prior to installing the privacy fencing. Updating that was unintentionally overlooked. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, we have made the adjustment. We appreciate your acknowledgment of our team members who accommodated you, our staff are always happy to assist in making guests more comfortable.
