Charming Cottage, all you could wish for, perfect
We were so impressed with the cleanliness and overall welcoming feeling in Kirkstone Cottage. Far reaching views to die for and the most comfortable bed ever!! So much helpful literature about local walks and even free parking advice. We had a fabulous time and didn't want to leave. Would return in a heartbeat and have no hesitation in recommending this accomodation.
Very enjoyable stay
We spent a fortnight here and had a great time. The cottage has everything you could need. It is small but comfortable, absolutely fine for a couple. There is a patio at the back with table and chairs which was nice for breakfast/supper, weather permitting. One small issue to be aware of is that the bedroom does not have a door as it is essentially on the landing. Not a big deal but if you want some quiet while your partner watches tv downstairs it may be slightly annoying. However, overall we really liked the cottage and would strongly recommend it. The pub 2 mins walk away is really good for meals and a drink. 10 mins drive to Hawkshead which we loved and the same time in the other direction to Ambleside.
Another great stay at Kirkstone
The perfect place for a couple to stay in the lakes. There is a great pub at each end of the road, good cooking facilities, Sky TV and a very comfortable bed! We will be back
Property ideal for two people very comfortable. Has every thing you require, Pub down the road
Only one problem the cleaner had not been to clean after the other residents had left so we had to contact them. Resolved within the hour.
Great location views and facilities
Perfect place for 2. Had everything we needed. On a (very) minor note: would have welcomed a few bits to keep us going till we got to a shop as we arrived around 7.30pm on a Saturday evening. This would purely have been the icing on the cake. Great wifi, comfy bed, views were great from every window. Loved to be able to walk to various places from the doorstep, either up in direction of Drunken Duck (fantastic food) or down the path to the right of the Outgate Inn. Spacious lounge and kitchen. Loved sitting outside in the evening with a glass of wine admiring the views and resting aching limbs!
Lovely cottage, lovely location, lovely local pub!
The cottage is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. The location is beautiful and we had no problem getting around. We loved the Inn at the end of the road, it's very busy but you can see why! Great food and very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
