About Catherine Allsop

Based in East Manchester with our 15 year old daughter both my husband and I have busy schedules with work and spend a lot of time travelling, so we like nothing more than to escape to the peace and tranquility of the Lleyn Peninsula whenever we can, its an amazing part of the country.

We purchased Cae Ifan in summer 2010 after a long search for the right property. The cottage had been rented out or left empty on and off for a few years and was in a pretty sorry state!

We spent just less than a year completely renovating the cottage and we are really pleased with the final result which has given us a modern, comfortable family cottage whilst still retaining the character and charm of the original building.

Catherine Allsop purchased this cottage in 2010

Why Catherine Allsop chose Morfa Nefyn

Apart from the obvious appeal of Cae Ifan as a quaint holiday cottage its location was perfect. Right in the heart of the village of Morfa Nefyn we can walk to the local shops in a matter of minutes, but our favourite thing about it is that we are right in the middle of the two beaches at Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn and can walk to either beach in 10-15 minutes which is absolutely great we love it!

What makes this cottage unique

We spend a lot of time at the cottage ourselves and for that reason we try to make sure that every possible comfort and convenience is catered for. We are very lucky to have a lovely, private garden which makes Cae Ifan a really special find.

We look forward to sharing it with you please email your enquiry or just give me a call to discuss your requirements.

Most enjoyable 3 day stay at this well equipped and brilliantly maintained cottage...

  • 4 of 5

The cottage from the road does not do it justice until you enter the property and are pleasantly surprised by the deceptively spacious accommodation. The lounge/diner is well equipped and merges into a brilliant social area, with a wood burning stove as a centrepiece in the lounge area. The whole property is well heated, and everything you would want for a dog walking holiday is accommodated for at this property. Delightful 3 day stay over the festive period...

Delightful bolt hole

  • 4 of 5

This is a delightful cottage, a real bolt hole when you want to get away from everything. Clean, cosy and a lovely outside area. Perfect for the dogs as the garden is completely secure. A few minutes from the coastal path and some of the best beaches in England virtually on your doorstep. Highly recommended.

Home from home

  • 5 of 5

Our first holiday on the Lleyn Peninsula. Cae Ifan was the perfect base. A really well equipped kitchen, lovely open plan living area and a safe garden for children and dogs. Our favourite spot was Porth Ysgo. We climbed up Yr Eifl and the views were amazing. A week wasn't long enough to discover everything the Lleyn has to offer. Thank you so much to the owner, Catherine, for always being available to help. Couldn't have asked for more.

Fantastic Long Weekend

  • 5 of 5

This was our second long weekend at Cae Ifan and again it was a fab stay. The cottage is cosy and well appointed with everything there that we needed. Cae Ifan is in a great area for exploring the Llyn Peninsula and beyond. We loved the proximity to the coastal path and to the great walks along this beautiful coastline. I would recommend this cottage to anyone and we will hopefully return in the future. Thanks Catherine and family for a lovely stay!

What a fabulous cottage, felt at home the moment we arrived. The pictures don't do it justice, just back from a 3 night break. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated very comfy. Lovely garden, totally dog & child friendly. Catherine the owner very helpful, we had sleet, hail, rain, gale force winds & some sunshine. Regardless got out every day for walks. Porch was a real bonus for wet coats, boots & dog towels. Will definatly be back for another visit. Highly recommend.

We arrived on thdcfridsy afternoon in fine weather, explored the garden before even opening the door. We were all really happy with what we found.

Upon entering the cottage, we found a beautiful, well equipt cottage. We spent the afternoon playing the supplied board games and jigsaws. My children thought it was brilliant! So did we :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, exploring the local area and also using the community bus to go further to spend the day at Aberdaron.

I would highly recommend this cottage and owners, the cottage was great and the owners were helpful and full of advice for our stay.

We will be going back!
