Stunning location ! Superb views by day and breathtaking starry skies by night.
We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with our children and their children.
The house fitted us perfectly. We loved the fact we all had en-suites and we made full use of the heated pool, tennis court, petanque lawn and the choice of dining locations inside and outside the house. The nights of star gazing were a bonus - a side effect of the location with no light pollution and the perfect weather we enjoyed. Our resident musician enjoyed playing the grand piano so we had a sound-track of live music in the background. We did visit the local pubs and towns too ! An unforgetable stay !
Many thanks to Joan for making it all possible.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review. It makes us all so happy when people enjoy the whole experience. We are only sad that you didn't get to see the deer with her fawn. It was a pleasure to have you all stay.
Nice week in the Cotswolds

Great property but a few niggles
The property itself is lovely. The location is superb with lovely views. All rooms are large and we'll decorated with ample room for 12 persons.
There were a few niggles though. On booking it was advertised as heated swimming pool. But after I booked I was told there was a £XXX additional cost for just 2 days! [price retracted due to review rules] I dread to think what heating the pool for a week would cost. I was told this was the "cost" price. I highly doubt that. I went with the option reluctantly but had to pay cash on arrival.
Secondly I was told there was an additional fee off £XXX [price retracted due to review rules] for two campbeds. Again there is no way this is at cost and I did book for 12 people.
We had lovelly weekend and I didn't want to spoil it by causing a fuss at the time.
Saturday morning we went to cook brekfast on the Aga (there is no oven) and it was stone cold. The owner told me oops sorry I must have turned it down to 1. Agas take ages to heat up so we had to resort to using the BBQ of which half did not work and was absolutely filthy.
Overall I'm giving 3 stars as the property is lovelly and would easily obtain 5 stars, but let down my management issues and what I view as greedy extras.
We are really pleased that you enjoyed your holiday at Springfield Country House. The swimming pool has a solar cover, which can get the the temperature to around 15 degrees on hot days. the charge for heating the pool to 30 degrees is optional. We have to charge for this, and the charge only covers our costs (imagine keeping a bath warm for a whole weekend) The fee for the extra beds again cover costs and is normal in our industry. When I showed you round I talked you through how to cook on an Aga and showed you two books on how it works. The Aga is a four oven Aga. This was Friday night the Aga was hot and unless you turn it off it never goes cold, as all Aga owners know. Therefore I do not understand your comments.I always tell guests not to switch off and point out the switch and hide it behind the fire extinguisher. The gas barby works perfectly, instructions are on the inside of the door, we do ask guests to clean when finished but always check. Once again thank you for staying at Springfield Country House and we are pleased you had a good time.

The most beautiful house in a stunning setting!
Joan’s house is amazing! It’s truly beautiful and Joan couldn’t have been more kind and helpful. We had a super walk to the pub across the fields and all loved living in luxury for the weekend. Highly recommend!
We are so pleased you had a good time and thank you for leaving the house as you found it. It was our pleasure.
We hope to see you again one day.
Wonderful house with tons of character. Perfect for our adult group of ten plus 3 dogs.
So nice to find a house with 5 bedrooms of similar standard and all en suite. Really good to have large reception rooms especially the hub of the house - the kitchen. A very grown up place to stay. Beautiful views and wonderful walks with good local pubs. Would like to come back and experience in the summer months.
Thank you, for your review. We are really pleased your enjoyed the house and the country side around it. We look forward to welcoming you back in the summer.
