The secluded and private property has been completely renovated and thoughtfully designed to provide a property that is luxurious, spacious and well equipped.The house was originally 3 cottages which have been seamlessly integrated into one large property whilst retaining three living rooms.The internal accommodation flows into the gardens through the numerous outside doors imparting a light and airy feel. There are plenty of areas to explore or relax in including large heated, enclosed pool, lawned areas, secret garden, children's play area, shaded terrace, fields, disused railway line and woodland. Families travelling with babies and toddlers will find everything that require. There are several pleasant walks and bike routes in the surrounding countryside. The area offers varied activities from the Lac at St Ferreol with beach, canoes, boats, crazy golf, high wire course to Saissac with a Cathar castle, Revel with a country renowned market to name but a few.

About Melanie Doherty

Life outdoors is what we love as a family with lots of entertaining. We have 2 young boys - a 5 and a 6 year old. We have been lucky to spend a lot of time at the house enjoying the space inside and out. They have grown up at the house and have already shown a love of the fresh air and sports. We have also used the house to entertain for dinner parties and weekends with 10 friends and it adapts to all our needs.

Why Melanie Doherty chose Lempaut

We came to the area to find a house for my parents over 16 years ago and all fell in love with the area and the people. Eight years ago we spotted a pretty, imposing farm house in an estate agent’s window and both knew instantly that we didn’t need to view it as we would buy it whatever! The photo in the estate agent sold it beautifully – a view from the garden looking back at the house. The welcoming facade, the green painted shutters, the majestic oak trees, the brightly coloured roses round the doors and the ever blue pool were enough to sell the house. We still stand at that same spot that the photo was taken at and look at the house in awe. We believe that the refurbishment of the house allows the interior to do justice to the beautiful building and surroundings.

What makes this farmhouse unique

This is a house and grounds for living life to the full - you don't need to venture out. Inside there is space so that you can experience solitude or party with 14. The property is fully renovated and includes a kitchen that was designed to cook, entertain and enjoy. There are 2 TV rooms that are complemented by a Wii, free sat TV and DVD library for children and adults. In addition there is a large lounge that has enough sofa and chairs to seat everyone.

Extensive baby and toddler equipment is available that negates the need to bring anything apart from the children.

The house has nature at the door with outside space that is extensive and varied - fields, wooded areas, secret garden and play area. There is also a fully enclosed heated pool with a variety of inflatables and toys.

"Your wonderful home surpassed all our expectations (all 3 generations of our family). We arrived to find everything immaculate and beautifully and thoughtfully equipped - even an oyster shucker! The bedrooms were really comfortable and bathrooms were luxurious. We have two children and it was paradise for them - lots of toys and a fantastic safe garden for them to play in. The house has everything you need for children - we really only needed to bring their clothes! The garden was very private and the pool warm and a perfect size for swimming and playing.

Thanks again for a lovely holiday - it was really memorable."

Outside: There are various outside areas to cater for all. The long private drive passes alongside two fields that belong to the property and then opens up into the shaded private gardens. In a central full sun position there is a large, heated and fully enclosed pool 12.5 by 6.5m. There is a play area for children at one end of the house with slides, swings and a sand pit. The front of the house opens onto a large terrace for al fresco dining in the natural shade afforded by the numerous trees. A secret garden has a large flat enclosed lawn area that is ideal for an energetic game of football, a gentle game of croquet or a quiet glass of wine under the vine covered shelter. There is a disused railway line that leads into the woods and a river ideal for exploring. The garden furniture is plentiful and arranged in numerous peacful locations around the grounds. A barbecue is provided. There are outdoor toys and games provided for all ages and abilities.

Lovely, high quality property, fantastic for families with young kids

This property was spotlessly clean when we arrived. It is amazingly well equipped - lots of pool toys, games, books, DVDs, kitchen equipment. The fittings are all high quality and the property has been really tastefully renovated. Nice high quality sheets and towels. The owners seem to have thought of everything you could possibly want in a holiday home! The owners were extremely helpful whenever we had a query about anything to do with the property, or just for general advice about recommendations for nearby restaurants.

The one and only slight downside was the scenery in the immediate vicinity of the property - fairly standard French country scenery, but not quite as spectacular as some of the other areas of the Tarn. On the other hand, the more beautiful areas of the Tarn are within 1 hour's drive of the property. Saying that, there are still plenty of cute and interesting villages and towns to explore relatively close to the property.

The grounds are lovely and safe for young children to play in and the pool is safely fenced off for toddlers. The stair gates were also useful. Our children loved their holiday and the freedom to run around the garden. They thoroughly enjoyed the play equipment, including slide and swing. We were really impressed with the number of children's toys and books which kept our children entertained.

We would thoroughly recommend this property to those with children, particularly toddlers. It felt like a home away from home.

Beautiful home with everything you could wish for. Extremely well equipped in well kept grounds.

With ages ranging from one to sixty four this house has something for everyone. In a beautiful part of France with lots to see and do we had an amazing three weeks. Definitely at the top of our list for a return visit. The owners have thought of everything you need for a trouble free stay and we wanted for nothing.

L'endroit idéal pour 1 séjour en famille !

Une propriété spacieuse, très bien équipée, avec des chambres et des salles de bain décorées avec goût.

Tout est réuni pour satisfaire toutes les générations : de nombreux jouets à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur pour les enfants, salon télé, console vidéo et un grand choix de DVD ou de jeux vidéos pour les ados, un parc magnifique pour les apéros et les grillades pour les adultes, et une belle piscine ....

Notre séjour dans cette propriété, que nous avons trouvée très propre à notre arrivée, restera inoubliable.

C'est sûr, nous y retournerons !

Excellent week end!!

Nous avons passé un week end au sein de cette belle demeure, nous étions 10 adultes et un enfant. La maison est magnifique, grande, tout le confort était là! Belle décoration, matériel de qualité, la piscine chauffée est un atout! Jim a été charmant pour nous aider à organiser ce week end, et Corinne nous a réservé un accueil très chaleureux! We had an amazing family holiday in the house, brilliantly equipped for all ages! Mel was great both before and after the holiday. The pool was lovley and warm with lots of inflatables, sun loungers etc. Would love to go back!!

A great house offering a premium experience

We had a lovely family holiday here this summer. The house is fantastic with a heated pool, vast grounds and every mod-con you need. Compared to other places we have rented, this is truly high spec with thought given to every detail from lovely walk-in showers to the full cupboard of kids' DVDs. If you are looking for somewhere special then this is definitely the place for you - the only downside was the mixed weather which is out of anyone's control!

The lake at Saint-Ferreol is 13 km away has a beach set among pine trees and surrounded by countryside. The site includes an 80 hectare park, cascades, a geyser and shady paths and offers the joys of swimming in the lake, lounging on the beach, fishing and exploring nature, together with the possibility of practising a great many sports: boating, wind surfing, tennis, horse riding, walking, crazy golf, mountain biking, canoeing, aqua inflatable assault course, rock climbing and a small high wire course for under 8s.

The nearest village with a boulangerie, post office, local shop and bar is 1km. Dourgne is 6km away with an ATM, pizzeria and restaurant.

Revel is 8km away with a supermarket, hypermarket, Saturday food market that is country renowned and a selection of boucheries, greengrocers, boulangeries, patisseries, charcuteries and restaurants.

Soual is 8km away and has a couple of boulangeries and patisseries, a charcuterie, a boucherie and just through Soual there is a cut price supermarket.

Castres is situated half an hour’s drive away from the house. This beautiful city is intersected from north to south by the Agout River. The river is fringed by old merchant’s houses the upper stories of which project over its waters. Castres’ central square has a mouth watering food market on a Saturday. There are also plenty of clothes shops and boutique shops to explore. There is a boat trip from the centre of Castres to the 53 hectare Gourjade park which is dedicated to relaxation and leisure and includes a picnic area, rollerblade track, a nine hole golf course par 36, a mini golf course and a miniature train network. Castres also has a swimming complex with a combination of indoor and outdoor pools with slides as well.

Toulouse is an hour’s drive away and its 2000-year-old history shows itself in the architecture of brick and tiles that is typical of the cities, villages and farms of the Midi-Pyrenees region. Reflections of the golden light on the brick of Toulouse have earned it the name of the ‘Ville Rose.’ This very special colouring confers an atmosphere on the city that is at once gentle and warm.

Toulouse is bubbling over with life and well worth a visit if you have time. The relaxed atmosphere of the city lends itself to a gentle stroll around the historic centre, walking alongside the Garonne and the Canal du Midi and lunch at Place Capitole. The city is brimming with welcoming cafés and bars whose terraces spill out onto the streets. All over the city, the ambience is friendly, tinged with the well-meaning familiarity that is particular to the people of Southern France.

Toulouse is also a major shopping destination. All the major internationally-renowned brands in fashion, design, leather goods and jewellery are represented in Toulouse. The city neighborhoods also live by the rhythm of the open-air and covered markets.

Carcassonne is a fortified town about 40km away transports you back to the Middle Ages. Carcassonne is the largest fortress in Europe and has 14 towers. A fantastic city to spend a day walking through the medieval town with its narrow, winding streets and many interesting shops (crafts and souvenirs etc) and numerous restaurants.

Sidobre is less than an hour’s drive and is a wonderland of rock formations and walks where you can get excitement from jumping from rock to rock along great pathways of granite boulders or take a more leisurely walk!

Cordes sur Ciel is an 80 minute drive away and is an impressive town architecturally and is a town of artists and artisans with sculptors, painters, jewellers, ceramists and glass blowers. There are no cars allowed in the town and it is a steep, long’ish climb into the heart of the town. It is very busy in the Summer but worth a wander round the studios along with a strategically timed break for lunch.

Saissac has as the photo above indicates got stunning views and also one of the Cathar castles. It is a small town about 30 minutes drive away in the direction of Carcassonne. It can easily be included in a trip to Carcassonne or included in a trip to Montolieu, which is a village of book shops and art galleries about 15 minutes further on towards Carcassonne.
