About Martin Ebbs
I am based in central London in England with a second home in the Isle of Wight and run a business and economic consultancy company.
Martin Ebbs purchased this Apartment in 2004
Why Martin Ebbs chose Tavira
I have always been enchanted by the people, tradition and culture of Portugal. I first visited Tavira in 2004 and discovered a hidden treasure - an unspoilt, historic old town full of interesting places, next to fantastic beaches. During my visit, I came across this old but beautifully ornate building in an empty and derelict state and thought, what a waste. Someone needed to restore this to its full glory and bring it back into full regular use. So that became my mission and after dealing with complex bureaucracy and building issues for the next few years I finally brought this concept to reality, making it into two spacious and stylish properties and it is now available for others to enjoy.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property is situated right in the centre of the old town about one minute from the river. The apartments are stylishly decorated and furnished, well equipped, spacious and very comfortable. The upper apartment has two terraces and a separate balcony. Everything you need - groceries, shops, restaurants, bars, the beach ferry and evening entertainment is available within 5 minute's walk. It is easy to get to, being only 30 minutes from Faro airport, and with motorway and rail connections. Spain can be reached within 20 minutes. The nearest beach at Ilha da Tavira can be accessed by boat directly from the town centre, taking about 10 minutes. Five other beaches can be reached in 10-20 minutes by car. All beaches are wide with beautiful golden sand and stretch for long distances.

Great property, full of character and charm.
We had a fantastic stay. The house is spotless and was large enough to provide plenty of communal and personal space for our group of 8. The 4 bathrooms, balconies and roof terrace added to our enjoyment. Whilst we chose to eat out, the kitchen has everything you would need.
beautiful house everything we asked for and more, in a wonderful st. in tavira.
This house is amazing, and location is perfect.
A wonderful stay in a wonderful Portuguese luxury apartment
This is a superb property, which fulfilled our expectations totally. Our party were more than comfortably accommodated, in a large and exceptionally well designed home. We all agreed that we would not hesitate to return.
The town itself is delightful, and has plenty to offer in the way of bars and restaurants. A small supermarket is just minutes walk away, parking easy, and the streets quiet. Perfect!
Beautiful house, in keeping with traditional Portuguese style.
A great location and we loved our stay, the accommodation is spacious and the beds very comfortable. It was a home from home and being away in December, I did not expect to be able to sit on the roof terrace but as the sun was out for all of our stay we were able to make the most of the terrace.
A wonderful week in Tavira
The apartment was very spacious and well equipped and with four double bedrooms and en suite bathrooms our family party of eight were very comfortable there. The position in the centre of the old town meant that we didn't need to hire a car for the week as all the bars and restaurants were so close by. The water taxi to the beach only started on our last day but we took the road train for a tour to familiarize ourselves with the town and enjoyed strolling around the streets and along the river. The weather was beautiful and the roof terrace which was accessed by a steep internal staircase was a real sun trap. We all enjoyed our stay in Tavira.
