About Susan Lewis

I first came to Cabris and le Petit Coin as a guest and fell in love with the house, the village, and the surrounding area. When I heard it was for sale, I knew I had to make this house my home. I plan to split my time between Honolulu, my home for the past 22 years where I raised two sons, and my new home in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southern France.

A charming house in a quaint French village, very convenient to cafes and restaurants

  • 5 of 5

Cabris is a charming and delightful village with scenic views. A stroll through the streets would always make me want to turn off my direct

path and go explore the charms of a new street.

The house is equally charming and delightful. There's a public water trough at the front corner of the house that is used by all the neighbors to water the potted flowers and plants in front of most houses. Inside, the layout of the rooms is quaint but convenient. The windows and wiring are all modernized, and the wifi was good.

We found the neighbors to be friendly and helpful. Tracy, Susan's local stand in, was very helpful and gave us a lot of good tips about

everything from Provencal markets to which road to take to go to Grasse.

We did easy day trips to the Fragonard perfume making class in Grasse, the Rosary Chapel in Vence where Matisse' did his last work, the city of Nice where we had fun tracking down a Santon character doll. It was lovely to start off each day walking down to the bakery to get a croissant.

Fabulous views from hilltop position

  • 4 of 5

Lovely two storied accommodation in a typical Provencal townhouse. The house was charming, quirky and full of character - our children loved it! Elena met us and showed us around the property and was around immediately when the fridge broke down. Resolved very fast - thank you, Andrey! Stunning views down to the Med and wonderful lake 20 minutes drive away. Right in the heart of the lovely village, with shops nearby. A highly enjoyable weeks' stay!

The loveliest little corner in Provence!

  • 5 of 5

Perfectly perched on a corner of Cabris with stunning views of the Mediterranean, this charming and comfortable home was our base for touring the Cote d'Azur. The Petit Coin is conveniently located for day trips to Grasse, Nice, Monaco, and Cannes with stops along the way to lovely hillside villages. When not touring, we relaxed in Susan's well-equipped home and appreciated our quiet, cozy corner of Cabris. Our room had its own private balcony with stunning views of the town and the coast. Susan was gracious and helpful, providing all the information we needed in advance of our stay. This provençal town is a well kept secret with its quaint cobblestone streets, lovely hiking trails, and wonderful local restaurants. We enjoyed every minute of our relaxing stay in Cabris and definitely recommend this special place! Thank you Susan!

What a fantastic place!

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing place to stay! Such a beautiful and comfortable house, beautifully furnished in a typical Provencal style, incredible view, the village of Cabris is so charming! We had such a special two weeks of living in a paradise. House has got all you need, the house keeper is so lovely, she helped us to make our trips around the region and cooked fantastic Provencal meals for us. Neighbors are very sweet, everyone is trying to help and show more about their beautiful place.

Our children were so happy too, we played tennis a few times at the tennis court which is just a few minutes by walk from the house. 30 minutes by car will take you to Cannes, if you drive more 15 minutes you will get to the fantastic wild beach with a beautiful nature around. We made a lot of trips around - to the capital of perfume Grasse, to the charming Provencal villages Gourdon, Mons, Tourret sur Loup, to the lake Saint Cassien which you can see right from the window. Many activists are available there! You can go biking, paragliding, fishing, diving and of course testing fantastic Provencal food everywhere around!

Thank you so much Susan! We will definitely come back with our friends very soon!

This was a truly special place - from the village to the home - what an amazing stay. Thank you, Susan, for taking care of all of our pre-trip questions and being available throughout our stay. This home has a great view, is beautifully furnished, and has washer/dryer. The neighborhood is French quaint to the max! We did it all: from local walks to caves to small trips to Nice, Cannes and Monaco. The local restaurants are charming and delicious. Beautiful gardens. There is only one shower, but the four of us (two couples) managed just fine! Again, thank you, Susan. What a beautiful home. Amazing trip. Will definitely be back! Gorgeous!

Fifteen years ago I made my way to the south of France with my husband and kids. Our choice of location and accommodations in those days often revolved around the children’s needs while still meeting our own.

Now, a decade and a half later, I planned my dream trip; one, which focused on life in a small village. Preferably one perched on the edge of a cliff, with an outstanding view. My husband accused me watching too many French movies, or reading too many novels. He gently suggested I might be setting myself up for disappointment.

I forged ahead and consulted with a friend who owns a house in France. She recommended her favorite Provencal village, Cabris. From there I found Le Petit Coin and it was everything I had imagined and hoped for.

First let’s talk about Cabris. It is perched on the edge of a cliff with absolutely stunning views all the way to the Riviera. I had heard in the mornings one can even catch a glimpse of Corsica before it magically disappears. I was on holiday and never rose early enough to experience this phenomenon.

There are several restaurants in the village, all within walking distance of Le Petit Coin. Several are outstanding and all of them good. We often couldn’t decide whether to repeat a visit to a favorite, or try a new restaurant. They all offer outdoor dining. Heavenly!

Le Petit Coin is the quintessential village house. It’s visually adorable, perfectly positioned in the village to take advantage of the views from nearly every room, and furnished beautifully. There is even a bottle of Provencal wine and fresh flowers upon arrival.

Elena greeted us and showed us the house. She is also well versed in the area and suggested several day trips, provided bus information, and where to find the best markets in the area. She suggested we take the bus for 1.50 euros to Cannes or Nice; a great suggestion that eliminated the need to find parking.

We stayed a week, but could have stayed a month and still not explored everything this area has to offer. I can’t wait to return to Cabris and Le Petit Coin for another perfect Provencal vacation.
