About Fiona Fletcher
We live in a small fishing village on the Lizard Peninsula, South west Cornwall with our three young boys. Simon is a retired fisherman and I was a primary school teacher until I gave up my post to look after our children and concentrate on managing our holiday properties. We are a small, family owned and run business and we are delighted to say that many of our guests return again and again.

perfect quiet bungalow for family holiday
decorated and furnished to high standard. lovely extra touches with everything we needed for our 3yr old, 4 month old and 15yr old. fantastic location close to beaches and towns with falmouth a 35min drive. Fiona was very helpful from start to finish and we intend to return.
Meadowside sets the bar high!
Meadowside is immaculately presented and has everything you need for comfortable holiday living. The decor is light and calm and the furniture of a very high standard for a rental. We relaxed with our two dogs and appreciated the large, secure garden and peaceful location.
Cury is well positioned for exploring the Lizard peninsula and Mounts Bay and is great for cycling although carry a puncture repair kit if you venture off road (there are numerous bridleways, byways and country lanes to explore).
We really enjoyed our surf lesson at Polhu, the quiz on a Monday night in Mullion and great swimming at Gunwalloe ChurchCove. Porthleven offers some superb restaurants, particularly Kota-a memorable evening indeed!
We will struggle to match this delightful property and location elsewhere. Thank you also Fiona & Simon, for the bottle of wine chilled for our arrival (milk too!)
lovely area but the bungalow is in need of a little TLC, the oven needed a good clean so didnt use it, the hob wasnt in good working order but was useable, some light bulbs in the lounge not working, some rotting wood in the bathroom, staines on some of the carpets and in need of a good clean, outside the garden wasnt enterly dog friendly having some gaps in the perimiter wall. could be made nice but all these issues need attention.
we cut short our stay and returned home after a few days and will not be returning to this property.
We are so sorry to hear of your disappointment for the first time in this review Alan, we live a few miles away and so can readily be at hand should there be any concern or problem, as the reviews below will confirm. We did not hear of any issues in our correspondence nor on our feedback form that we leave for guests. We would have liked the opportunity to have put things right, we would have replaced any faulty bulbs and ensured the oven was clean, we agree this was unacceptable and apologise if this was the case. We would dispute your claim about the wood in the bathroom and the hob and have invited Owners Direct to inspect the bungalow (they have declined).
Now that we have a dog ourselves, we appreciate the need for a fully enclosed garden and plan to do this at the end of the summer season. (We do not advertise the garden as fully enclosed. The garden has been complimented by many of our guests who have dogs, the driveway is gated and there is a tall fence to the rear).
Again we are sorry that you didn't give us the chance to come over and put things right, many of our guests return each year and we hope the lovely reviews we have received previously will reassure future guests of Meadowside.

Meadowside cottage was in a very quite area and had everything we needed.
We had a great stay at meadowside cottage perfect for a quite week away. Great location for beaches and costal walks. Weather was very good for time of year as we stayed towards end of November only one day let us down. Cosy and well equipped. Garden great for our dog too. Owners very helpful.
Thanks for your lovely feedback Mark, we're delighted that you had a great holiday and that your dog enjoyed the garden. We hope to welcome you back again.
Clean, tidy & comfortable
We wanted somewhere quiet and peaceful and we got it. As the title says 'Clean, tidy and comfortable', close enough to the main road and the buses with the beach about a mile down the road. Quiet, I'm told the church bells rang on Sunday but I didn't hear them so not intrusive. A pleasant stay, Thank you Fiona, and we'd be quite happy to stay there again
Thanks very much Mick, we hope you will return again. Glad you found it comfortable and peaceful.

Cornwall enjoys an excellent climate with very mild winters and summers that are almost Mediterranean in nature. This climate has in turn helped with the growth and development of a wealth of botanical gardens in Cornwall that have become renowned worldwide.
Located at the southernmost end of the British Isle, in the county of Cornwall, the Lizard Peninsula is bordered on three sides by the sea, and the Helford River to the north. The name the Lizard is believed by some to come from the Cornish word “lezou” meaning headland. The National Trust owns a major proportion of the peninsula, and this helps in keeping it unspoilt and unchanged. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Lizard Peninsula has some of the most spectacular scenery in Cornwall.
There are many small coves, once used by smugglers to land their kegs of French Brandywine, and beaches to be found at the Lizard, and the South-West coastal path is very popular with walkers. When people come to the Lizard they are inspired by the scenery to write, take photographs and paint. Many people go there just to escape the hustle and bustle of their daily lives. The Peninsula has a maritime past and many shipwrecks can be seen all along the coastline.
