Bottom Barn, Converted Barn
About Andrew Court
I am an architect and have converted these barn for holiday rentals myself. I live a few miles from the holiday rental properties. It is a small family business and we like to add a personal touch.
Why Andrew Court chose Newport
I have owned these barn for many years. The Studio.... The studio was used as an artist studio by my wife. Visiting artist have enjoyed staying here over the years. We now rent for general holidays. The Studio is a large light and airy building with bedrooms on a mezzanine floor. The conservatory has wonderful views across the open fields. The Piglet.... Is a smaller converted barn across the courtyard from the Studio. It is a private and cosy building again with views across the open countryside. The building has a sunny aspect with doors opening into a private garden. Both barns are separate and private.
What makes this Barn unique
Bottom Barns are located in a superb rural setting at the base of the Rowridge Valley in the heart of the Isle of Wight countryside. The views of the open countryside from the studio are stunning. The Barns are located in their own south facing courtyard overlooking a 5 acre paddock. Whilst Bottom Barn is remote from the hustle and bustle of every day life, the town of Newport is only 10 mins away and the ferries from both Cowes-Southampton and Yarmouth-Lymington are only 15 mins away. The beaches are located to the west and are about 15 mins away. The network of bridleways and footpaths which surround the area make this an ideal location for enjoying the countryside.

Cosy, quirky little barn
We stayed as a family with a three and a five year old. Lovely cosy barn, lots of utensils etc so that we felt right at home. Lots of outdoor space for the children and wildlife including woodpeckers, bunnies, birds of prey and shrews in the garden. We enjoyed watching the farmer in his field on his tractor too. Great location for everywhere on the island and nice beaches 10 mins away. Newport is very close for eating out.
The property has the advantage of being fairly central to the island and therefore most points of interest are never far away.
Cowes and the sailing being 10 mins by car.
The main beaches of the West Wight are only about 12 mins drive. Compton Bay is big and sandy with waves (weather permitting), Colwell Bay is flat water and sandy (great for the small kids). Nition bay is a rock cove which is about 20 mins drive. Yarmouth harbour for sailing and fishing trips is about 12 mins drive.
Newport is the main town on the Isle of Wight which is about 10 mins drive. There is a spar shop about 3 mins drive.
There is a pub up the road which is about a few seconds drive or a short walk across the paddock.
Yarmouth ferry is about 15 min drive.
Cowes ferry is about 15 mins drive.
Ryde ferry is about 20 mins drive.
