Villa in Ginestas, Narbonne, Aude, Languedoc-Rousillon, France - Quiet Location But Just Five Minutes Walk From The Village Centre And Close To Other Amenities
About Robert Clarke
Penny and Robert purchased this property in 2011 after a long search for a suitable holiday home in the South of France. They were attracted to the region by the weather! Having spent many holidays in rented villas Penny and Robert believe they know what facilities guests appreciate in a holiday villa and they are looking forward to sharing the delights of Villa Mimarmel and the surrounding area with others who appreciate this region in France.

Why Robert Clarke chose Ginestas
Ginestas is a small village but the bar and restaurant are open all year round. As the climate is always better than England it is never a bad time to visit the area! The village is quiet but in easy reach of many interesting sites.

Excellently equipped kitchen even down to provision of port glasses! Very pretty mediterranean garden and pool in a lovely village with two restaurants and a wine bar serving tapas, all within very easy walking distance, plus an open air village summer soirée gourmande once a week with food vans and live music. The Canal de Midi is one village away and there is a huge variety of places to eat and buy local wine. The owners arrange some nice little extras which are most welcome and the property and pool are very well maintained by the house managers. Highly recommended.
Glorious secluded Villa in Ginestas
A lovely well equipped villa in an idyllic setting close to the Canal du Midi.
This very comfortable villa has everything you need and more!
Check out the cold water and ice dispensing fridge freezer.
There were plenty of garden chairs and sun loungers, and the pool towels were much appreciated!
A charming garden with plenty of shady spots, and a generous pool to swim and “float”in.
We were spoilt for choice selecting a restaurant, but The three pigs in the village was always a good bet for a quick plat du jour lunch!!
An easy journey by car to and from Carcassonne Airport.
All in all we will be back!! Thank you Penny and Robert
Beautiful villa, pool and garden. Very well equipped - we wanted for nothing.
So pleased you enjoyed your time at Mimarmel. We hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back sometime.
A really great villa that is very well equipped and easy to reach.
We have stayed at many villas but this was better equipped than any. Plenty of crockery, glasses etc that meant you could actually use the dishwasher! Enough sun loungers and comfortable chairs for everyone to relax or dine. Every time we wondered if they had a “xxxxx”, we found one in a drawer or cupboard.
The area is steeped in history and wonderful countryside. The village itself is charming and the bar in centre does a very good lunch.
The garden is secluded and the pool is big enough for a proper swim.
One of the best holidays we’ve had.
September in Ginestas
We have been coming to the Aude since 1991, an area that we obviously love, and have had a holiday home in St Nazaire d'Aude for the last 13 years. Having sold our holiday home in June of this year, we were very apprehensive about returning to the area and feeling bereft. Your lovely villa has completely won us over - we have hardly given a thought to our previous home! We have felt so comfortable here and every renter's need has been catered for. It has been the most lovely, relaxing week and the weather has been wonderful.
Thank you, Ray. So pleased you enjoyed your stay at Mimarmel and that you will be coming back next year.
The best Villa we have stayed at
If you are reading this review then you have seen the description of the villa. It is exactly as stated, but even more so. Robert and Penny have the most beautiful Villa with an incredible garden and pool. Our plan when we arrived was to have at least 7 days at the beaches around Narbonne and Beziers. But the house captivated us so we were reluctant to leave, we actually only had two days at the beach.
Everything you need for a fantastic stay is situated locally. Fantastic Restaurants, beautiful scenery and fully stocked supermarkets.
We dined out at Carcassonne, Homps and at a small village Somail on the canal Du Midi very close to Genestas. Not once were we dissapointed the food was fantastic.
As I said the Villa met and exceeded our expectations, we used the barbecue every day when we didn't dine out, eating out on the patio, with the sun beating down on you, we appreciated the parasols.
The inside of the Villa is exceptional, plenty of seating which you will not use to much, large dinning table again won't get a lot of use. Kitchen fantastic for preparing salads, the cooker is there and more that ample for your needs, but don't expect to use it much. You have use of two fridge freezers these are vital for keeping your favorite drinks cool. The weather during our stay was fantastic, the south facing garden catches the sun all day. The pool is vital in the heat to keep cool use it as required.
I could recommend various places to visit in the surrounding area, but we as a family like to explore and find our own little gems, one I would suggest is Carcasonne which is exceptional.
I am recommending the Villa Mimarmel to any and everyone who like to holiday in France. You will not be disappointed in your choice when you book this exceptional holiday villa.
Thank you to Penny and Robert for letting my family and I the use of Villa Mimarmel
Thank you very much for your kind remarks. We are pleased you enjoyed the pool and garden and hope to welcome you back to villa Mimarmel again sometime.
