2 bed cottage sleeping 4/5
About Mike Gatward
I live in Wakefield, West Yorkshire with my wife Carol. We both work full time, but get up to the cottage when we can to spend some chill time and keep on top of the little jobs. We have made many friends in and around the village and may well live there some time in the future.
Mike Gatward purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Mike Gatward chose Skipton
We bought the cottage in July 2004 having had a great holiday in the area earlier in the year. As soon as I walked in the front door, I knew it was the right property, it just had that warm feeling about it. For me, it perfectly encapulates village life without being too remote from the conveniences us 'townies' are accustomed to !.
What makes this Cottage unique
There is just something about the cottage that lets you leave all your troubles and anxieties outside the front door. People just seem to relax as soon as they get there ! Every season has it's own attractions. I think our favourite is probably winter (probably because that's when we can get there most). A cosy night in front of the open fire - can't be beaten. I also like the fact that we can walk to the local pub, tearoom and Post Office. It's important to support local businesses.

Lovely place. Hidden gem. Great walks from the doorstep. Perfect for dog walks. Comfortable cottage. All you need for a break away. Would love to return one day.
Excellent cottage in a scenic Dales village
My wife Gill and I greatly enjoyed our week in this cosy, very well equipped cottage - both the cottage and its location in a scenic Dales village were ideal for us. The kitchen Aga meant the cottage was warm on any cool morning and the rear conservatory plus outside seating front and rear facilitated enjoyment of the surroundings. The village pub, the Clarendon Hotel, is within 2 minutes walk and serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. We cooked dinner in the cottage on several evenings and found the Aga easy to use and very effective. The owner, Mike, sent comprehensive arrival information by email and very promptly answered a supplementary question. The cottage was immaculately prepared for our arrival. We will certainly aim to rebook for future stays in the Dales. Highly recommended.
Lovely cottage in a perfect location, with friendly local pub, great tea rooms and lots of great walks from the door.
Didn’t even use the car!
Delightful cottage in a great location
First stay at Littlebrook Cottage and wasn’t disappointed. Have stayed in the Grassington area many times before and this cottage is well equipped for a comfortable stay. Whilst there I booked another visit later in the year. The location is great for walking, close enough to experience Grassington and very peaceful
Cosy cottage in a perfect location
The cottage is wonderful, everything you could need or wish for. Very well equipped & a real home from home. We loved our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cottage....the pub being around the corner is just an added bonus!
Great cottage, very comfortable. - great location.
A very well equipped comfortable cottage with everything you need, well looked after in a fabulous location for walking and relaxing. Would definitely recommend, visited with my husband, 2 children aged 9 and 13 and our pet dog. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Grassington is the nearest town about 1 mile away. Skipton and Harrogate are both within 20 minutes by car.
Hebden is a small village with a pub/restaurant, a tea room and a post office.
