About the property

Holiday Home in Cawsand, Nr. Kingsand, Cornwall, England - Detached Chalet With Stunning Sea Views Within A Charming Cornish Coastal Village

Cornwall’s forgotten corner. The twin seaside villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, on the Rame peninsula are great for relaxing and enjoying a memorable holiday. The chalet has a magnificent view over the sea towards the hills of Dartmoor - probably the best view in the village. The area has a great deal to offer and a week could easily be lost exploring the charming streets, walking the coastline, relaxing on the beach. Walkers are spoilt for choice and can pick up the South West Coast Path in both directions. Mount Edgcumbe’s country park starts at the top of the village and you can walk to the famous 16th century house and visit its beautiful gardens. Locally, there are five pubs, three coffee shops and a choice of places to eat in the evening. It is ideal for a relaxing romantic break.

Idyllic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at The Crow's Nest in Kingsand for one week and could not have wished for a better place to holiday. Tucked away in a secluded yet central location, the chalet boasts fantastic views looking out over the water; a perfect setting. The Crow's Nest had everything necessary to make our stay a comfortable one. It is perfect for couples and serves as a great base in which to explore the local villages of Kingsand and Cawsand in addition to walking along the SW Coastal Path or journeys further afield to Plymouth or into Cornwall.

We would highly recommend The Crow's Nest to anyone looking to stay in a quiet corner of Cornwall!

Very good

  • 4 of 5

Very good, but be aware that if you are a slightly larger person, you may struggle to get into the shower, also the bathroom is not that large.

Views are amazing, but the bushes could do with being trimmed back a bit

Amazing location in a quiet pretty seaside village

  • 5 of 5

The property itself is very small, but has all a couple needs. Clean and tidy and very quaint. The view from the balcony overlooking the little harbour and the sea is just amazing, exactly as shown in the picture, a great place to sit out at anytime and admire the view. Cawsand is a beautiful tranquil place, perfect for couples that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger resorts. Steep steps down to the village from the lodge, but once there, there is a fabulous artisan bakery and cafe, lots of great places to eat and several friendly pubs. Definitely recommend this property.

lovely spot and lovely house

  • 4 of 5

lots of great communication from the owner before hand made us feel like we were going to a good spot, and we were not disappointed. The house was beautiful and clean with an amazing view of the sea. One of our neighbours helped us move in and then it was blissful silence.

looking forward to going back.

Village beaches
Car: recommended

We are a couple of minutes walk to the beach, close enough to sometimes hear the waves at high tide. The beaches are clean, with clear water, sand and rock pools. If you are prepared to walk for half an hour there are the stunning white beaches of Whitsand Bay which are the other side of this headland.

In the summer months a small foot passenger ferry takes people to and from Plymouth which is about a half hour trip. If you are coming by train then it is quite a nice way to arrive. The closest airport is Plymouth and then Exeter which is one and a half hours away and there are cross channel ferries which go to France and Spain.

We are within the village with all amenities. Plymouth although close as the crow flies takes about 45 minutes by car or you can take the beach ferry from Cawsand that runs from April to October except in strong winds. This will take you to the historic Barbican area from where the Mayflower set sail to America.
