Perfect spot to explore the Scottish Highlands
A pleasant stay
We stayed for a week and found the property to be well positioned for the sight seeing we wanted to do. It was clean and comfortable generally well equipped. Anthony and Jill were very friendly and welcoming.
Well appointed and comfortable accommodation in a great spot for exploring Loch Ness and the surrounding area. Beautifully quiet (apart from our kids) with the owners next door if anything is required.
Many thanks for your review and we are really glad you were comfortable and enjoyed your stay.
We had a great holiday at the Linhay, the cottage was lovely, really clean, spacious and very well equipped, it is suitable for people with reduced mobility.
The owners, Tony and Jill were really nice and helpful. The cottage was a good base for touring the Highlands Lochs and Glens and there was plenty to see and do. As other reviewers have said, "the Strathspey Railway Journey is a must". The Culoden experience was also very good. We would definately book this cottage again.
After having a complicated and difficult year, myself, my daughter and friend decided to take some time out in Scotland. My daughter had never been to Loch Ness but had heard the tales and stories of the famous monster.
Being mesmerized by the tale, the nearly eight year old wee girl, was beyond excited to be going to Loch Ness.
She thrives in the outdoors, loves nature, exploring, castles, boats and roaming around in her willies, Loch Ness was perfect for her. it was one huge adventure to try to see Nessy.
We were all taken in by the beauty of the highlands which I had forgotten. We drove to as many places possible and saw as much as we could in our time. We drove to the Isle of Skye for a day which was another venture ticked off the list.
It rained and was cold, then was gorgeous and sunny, but it didn't effect our exploring one bit.
We met lovely people, saw amazing wildlife and took in as much as we could of a stunning part of the world.
Our cottage was perfect. extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, safe and was just right for our six night stay. Its surrounded by a lovely garden and was utterly peaceful. It was just faultless.
I would recommend to anyone and would return for another stay in a flash.
Tony and Jill are lovely. They left us to our own devices unless we required their help, we felt undisturbed and relaxed, but knew they were approachable if needed.
Booking the cottage was effortless and untroubled with Tony and Jill and their prices were very reasonable too.
We were sad to have to leave and spent hours looking at all our photo's over and over.
We didn't see Nessy in the flesh, but my daughters sure, she woke her up from her underwater lair. As on our return home, Nessy sightings were mentioned twice in the news. One in the area we stopped to shout for her and one the boat we were on, going over the loch.
A perfect ending, to a perfect stay, for the worlds biggest Nessy fan.....
