Why John G chose Pizzo
The Pizzo Beach Club Resort is a perfect location to enjoy this beautiful part of Southern Italy. We bought this apartment because it seemed the ideal place to enjoy the sun and sandy beaches in absolute comfort.

Pizzo Beach Club is a fantastic complex
First of all, communication between the property owner and the maintenance company was first class which gave us piece of mind when booking the apartment. The property itself was fine and spacious and located on the fantastic Pizzo Beach complex.
As a family of four which included two children aged 10 and 6, Pizzo Beach Club had everything that we wanted as in two pools (one with slide), easy access to the beach, football pitch and tennis courts. We had no issue in letting our boys scoot around the complex and visit the park on their own. The complex was made up of mostly Russian and Italian families with a handful of English over the 2 week period. Getting a sunbed by the pool was no problem regardless of what time you turned up. For a family of four, the patio table was very small and difficult to enjoy a relaxing meal outside and the garden could have done with some TLC and comfortable seating to enjoy the warm evenings.
The main issue was that the apartment ran adjacent to the Voi Pizzo Calabria all-inclusive Resort which meant that loud music was played during the day and evening. While this wasn’t an issue during the day as we spent this time by the pool or beach, it did continue to around 12.30 every night and could be heard inside.
A car is a necessity as there are no restaurants or bars within walking distance but there is so much to explore and see that we are considering going back again next year.
Special interest holidays:
Calabria is famous for its food and wine. All types of restaurants are available from the beach bars to more sophisticated restaurants in the towns all serving supurb Italian food and wine.
The property is located a short 5 minute walk from a large sandy beach. The short walk is via a pathway through beautiful pine and eucalyptus trees
The resort is a short 15 minute drive from Lamezia airport. Car hire is recommended if you want to travel around the beautful countryside but the resort is a gated and self contained community. There is a Eurostar train station at Pizzo where you can catch a train to Rome, Sicily or Naples. From Vibo Valentia Marina you can catch a boat to Stromboli, one of the Aeolian Islands that is also an active volcano.
The old, picturesque village of Pizzo is a short 15 minute drive away with a variety of shops, restaurants and bars as well as some breathtaking views of the sea and surrounding countryside. Tropea is only a 30 minute drive away and was the Sunday Times number 1 spot in its 2007 "Top 20 Beaches" report.
The Pizzo Beach Club resort is a 5 Star resort and is a secure gated community with two swimming pools, a five a-side football pitch, children’s playground, tennis courts, a gymnasium, bar and restaurant facilities and an on-site shop for your local purchases all available to residents on a free of charge basis.
