Why Clare Edwards chose Nerja
Our family have been visiting Nerja, and in particular El Capistrano Village, for the last twenty years. It is a very peaceful area but is so convenient for all the amenities Nerja has to offer. El Capistrano Village has a lovely feel to it and is a very charming urbanisation with white-washed houses and bougainvillea clad walls. The communal walkways through the village are beautiful and the grounds are immaculately maintained. We wanted to buy a Spanish property in an area that still retained some traditional charm and in Nerja we have found that.
What makes this Villa unique
Our house is only a short walk to the swimming pools and grocery store which is so convenient for us especially with our young son. One of the things that made us choose the property was the ease of parking right on the doorstep and the lovely walled garden. It is perfect for our son to play in while we can relax in the sunshine! The house is big enough to accommodate our extended family but is also cosy enough to feel like a home from home.

Fantastic villa, very relaxing
I stayed at el capistrano for a week with two of my friends and we had a great time. The owner sent us information in advance which was really helpful (directions from Malaga airport were spot on). The villa is really comfortable and spacious, with fabulous views over out to the sea and the area is very quiet so we slept great every night. The pool and local shop are only a few minutes walk away. I would recommend hiring a car as the town and beach are a bit further. The local bus goes right past the villa once an hour, which is a good option too.
Overall it was a home away from home and I would definitely recommend staying!

This wasn't our first visit to El Capistrano Village but Casa Christine was definitely our favourite property. Any questions we had before our holiday were quickly answered so we knew exactly what to expect on arrival. As soon as we walked through the door we were impressed by the cleanliness of the house. It really was a home from home with everything you needed provided. We had our daughter and her boyfriend with us and our 16 month old grandson and the house felt very spacious. Bedrooms are lovely with plenty of room to put everything away and the bedroom downstairs with its own bathroom and doors to the garden gives extra privacy. As we'd been before we were familiar with the lovely pool areas, great for both adults and children, and we mostly walked into town in the evening to take advantage of the many many restaurants. Nerja town also has a great selection of shops to browse in. When we did eat in, there's an on site shop which stocks the basics in the Village plus the excellent Mercadona and Supersol supermarkets which are a short walk away. Burriana beach is also within walking distance, although it's quite a steep climb back to the Village! Once there, there's plenty to do and lots of beach front restaurants to choose from where you can enjoy a meal or a drink while watching the world go by. We didn't hire a car on this occasion but if you do, there are many things to do and see around Nerja and further afield. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and would love to stay at Casa Christine again in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Christine. The villa is lovely and we hope to be able to come back to Nerja next year and stay there again. It is the nicest property we have stayed in for quite a while.
Wonderful Location and Villa
Corresponding with the Owner was very easy and instructions concise.
Directions given by Owner, from Malaga Airport to the Villa were very good.
The Villa was more than we expected. Kitchen was quite small but well equipped. All the other rooms were an excellent size. Very light and bright. The air conditioning in the 2 upstairs bedrooms was very welcome at night. The garden was lovely and colourful. Up the outside stairs to the roof terrace: What a view, absolutely stunning.
It was lovely to leave by the garden gate and walk down the path to the pool. The Village is kept beautifully.
Lovely Bar serving good meals. Well stocked shop.
Burianna Beach is gorgeous, lots of places to eat, lovely sand and lots of sunbeds to hire.
Visited the Nerja Caves and Frigliana village. Both worth seeing.
Lots of visits to the town, we loved it, lots of restaurants and coffee shops, wonderful shops.
The supermarket just off the village stock Gluten Free Bread, Pizza, biscuits.
We can't wait to return to Nerja.
Nerja has a stunning coastline with a number of beautiful beaches against a mountain backdrop. The main beach, Burriana, is a 2 minute drive from the property and there is a large selection of beach bars, restaurants and shops providing everything from traditional Spanish cuisine to international bars showing major sporting events. Burriana is very family friendly with beach play areas, sun loungers and beach bed cabanas to hire (depending on the season). A bus service also runs to the beach.

Granada (70 miles; 80 mins drive)
Almeria (90 miles; 100 mins drive)
Car hire is recommended as there are a number of lovely places to visit around Nerja and it is the easiest way to get to and from the airport. A taxi to Nerja from Malaga airport would cost approximately 65 euros (Jan 2011).
The Balcon de Europa in the centre of town is approx. 10 mins drive. There is also a bus service from El Capistrano village to the beaches and town. There are a number of other attractions nearby (all drive times approximate):

Golf course: 10 mins drive
Frigiliana: 15 mins drive
Shopping centre (large hyper-market, fashion stores, cinema): 15 mins drive

Nerja is a lovely town which has retained a huge amount of its Spanish charm while providing a fantastic variety of bars, restaurants, leisure activities and shops.
