The apartment is light and airy and has been tastefully restored to perfection. It is on the second floor of a 16th century Cetona casa. We are located on a quiet street in the "centro storico", the center of town. The apartment has all modern anemities but the exposed wood beam ceiling, open fireplace and beautiful stonework will remind you of the homes impressive age. Each room features its own special view of the town and countryside. The ground floor features a lush garden, a peaceful place to relax among flowers, cypress trees and plants while admiring the views of the town and surrounding tuscan hills. The apartment is on the second floor and has lovely views of the town and countryside. Your apartment encompasses the entire floor. Although my photos may not be professional (wide angle or enhanced) I hope they show the true character of the apartment and Cetona. If you have any questions or need any additional information please do not hesitate.

My name is Maria Ferrini and I was born and raised in Cetona. I have watched Cetona grow and improve with age and at the same time stay true to its ancient roots. The town is small and quiet but also offers convenient services. I enjoy walking in the countryside; my other interests include painting, reading, cooking, gardening and travel.
Why Owner chose Cetona
Cetona is a beautiful town in the southeast corner of Tuscany. It was granted the title of one of the most beautiful small towns in Italy ("Uno dei Borghi piu belli d'Italia). It is conveniently located to the A1 autostrada and the Chiusi train station. Cetona is the perfect starting point for exploring the sights, towns and cities of Tuscany and Italy.

Really lovely apartment and charming hostess in an unforgettable town
We stayed here a week in Sept 2018. I hesitate to share our glowing review in fear that it will contribute to an onslaught of tourists and spoil Cetona. Of the 3 towns we visited during three weeks in Italy, this is the place I'd most like to return to.
The apartment is the top floor of a very historic home in the hilltop area of the town. It has compelling views from every window, a little terrace for sitting out, and a sweet little yard below. My spouse and I had all we needed for cooking in (which we did several times) and breakfasts, the library was helpful for planning outings (plus, it's just a nice room to spend time in), bathroom was great, and bedroom plenty spacious. We enjoyed just hanging out inside and on the terrace--it's really that wonderful a place that it was a significant part of our memorable Cetona experience. And the fact that it's the owner's family home (owner now lives on the floor below) really adds to the experience--Maria showed us old photos of the town and explained that the house goes back at least to her grandmother. Our poor Italian limited our understanding, but we so enjoyed meeting her. We also met neighbors on our walks up and down to the piazza, and so got a better feel for life there.
We very much appreciated the orientation Linda gave us (Linda is a native English speaker), both to cover all aspects of the apartment, show us the town basics (e.g., groc, bus stops and schedule, a rundown of local shops and eateries), and to suggest outings.
We didn't have a car, but for us, the apartment and the town, coupled with bus and train access for a couple of day trips, gave us plenty of things to do.
A perfect place to stay in Tuscany.
Maria and her friend Linda were perfect hosts doing everything possible to make our stay in Cetona a success. The apartment was beautiful, impecibly clean and had wonderful
views of the Tuscan country side from every window. We suggest that those looking for a quiet retreat away from the tourist crowds but still close by car to the hil towns of Tuscany chose this location. We drove through the country side every day visiting our selected hill towns and returned to the quiet little town each night to enjoy wonderful dinners in the town's reastaurants. In our opinion what could be better.
David - We are very happy you enjoyed your stay at the apartment and our little secret corner of Tuscany. Kind Regards and Grazie,
We had a lovely time in this beautifully restored Tuscan apartment with stunning views from every window. It was immaculately clean and very well equipped. We also were given a warm welcome by Linda & Maria. They couldn't have been more helpful, even dashing to the library for us on our single rainy day to rent out some DVDs. Cetona is a lovely little town and a great base to explore Tuscany, and of all the towns we visited it was probably the least touristy. If you want to experience life in a real Tuscan town, this is the place to come. Staying here felt like stepping back in time. Cetona itself is very well serviced with shops and restaurants, including a gorgeous family run restaurant around the corner. I couldn't recommend this apartment or Cetona highly enough. We'd love to come back!
Thank you so very much for your comments. We are happy you enjoyed and appreciated the apartment and Cetona.
Home away from home
I had the privilege of once again staying in Maria's apartment. Nestled under the eves in the historic part of town with views over the surrounding countryside, this has to be my favorite place to stay when in Cetona.
The apartment is clean, well appointed, but sympathetic to its historic roots. It is a short walk from the piazza with its coffee shops and restaurants. Cetona itself is well serviced by buses and the train to Florence / Rome is 15 minutes away. All in all a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday.
Grazie. We enjoyed you as a guest and now a friend. We hope to see you again in Cetona - an aperitivo is waiting for you in the garden. a presto.
Perfect apartment in Tuscany
This apartment was immaculate, with views of the Tuscan countryside from every window. The owners live in the building and the entire property is clean and beautiful with a garden out back that is at your disposal.
The apartment resides in the old part of Cetona, and you can walk 5 minutes to town and the piazza for restaurants and coffee and small shops.
Cetona is also very well located between Florence and Rome with a train station nearby. You can also visit many Tuscan cities using Cetona as a home base.
I corresponded for months with Linda Antonelli, the contact for the owners who helped make our trip so special. She was helpful with information on-line and a big help in person in Cetona.
The owners are gracious and welcoming and the people of this town are friendly and cordial, even though we do not speak Italian.
I recommend this property highly and frankly, cannot wait to go back!
Thank you Michele. I am happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to hosting you again one day in our little corner of Tuscany. Grazie. Maria.
This is a very nice apartment (we stayed in the 2 bedroom) with beautiful views and easy walking distance to the plaza. It is well equipped and excellently maintained. Cetona is located in the heart of the Tuscany region where we made daily trips to other communities within an hour drive. My wife and I highly recommend this property.
Grazie! We wish you both all the best. M & R
