Breathtaking views to the sea and a colourful sunset from the wide terrace are just a few of the rewards that this villa bestows upon its privileged guests. A gate opens into the walled courtyard which enjoys superb views of the bay and offers a barbecue and shaded gazebo for alfresco dining. The terrace area provides the perfect vantage point from which you can watch the fantastic views and magic colours of the sea. At the edge of the villas towards the sea, steps will lead to a lounge area for Agnanti (Greek word for viewing). If you descend the steps through the prickly pears, thyme, cedar trees and vines to reach the path that leads to the old lighthouse, and then climb onto a platform next to the sea, the steps carved into the rock will help you dive into the sea for a swim, or to explore the seabed. The more adventurous can swim 200 metres to reach the beach Plakes, with its turquoise waters and grey pebbles.

We stayed at Villa Nikolis, in Assos; the location was beautiful, with our villa on the hillside overlooking Assos and the Venetian Castle, which is lit up at night. We were looked after really well by Adriana, who couldn't have been more helpful.
The property is on several different levels so quite a few stairs and on a hill, so probably not good for someone with restricted mobility.
If you want to get away from it all and stay somewhere unspoilt, this is the place. There are quite a few good restaurants in Assos, (a 2 minute walk from the villa), with Platinos being our favourite.
The sea was lovely and warm to swim in, although it is mostly pebble beaches, (it is worth buying aqua shoes to make the most of them). Myrtos is the next bay, which again is lovely and renowned for colour of the water.
We went to Fiskado a couple of times, another lovely village, and took a boat out to some secluded coves.
We were all stressed out from work when we arrived, but completely unwound on the first day! The local people are warm and friendly. It was a wonderful holiday and we would all thoroughly recommend it.
350m walking distance to the nearest pebble beach. The clean waters of the harbour at Assos provide the closet beach with umbrellas and sun beds.

The most famous beach Myrtos is a 10 minute drive away, and the picturesque pebble coves of the Eriso peninsula are twenty minutes away.
