4 bed, 4 bathroom large house in Gorran Haven near Mevagissy , Quiet Location, just 10 minutes walk from the Lovely beach

The newly remodeled holiday home is situated on the edge of the beautiful seaside village of Gorran Haven in a quiet and pleasant cul-de-sac of detached bungalows. The completely restyled Arosa is brand new for 2018 and specified to a very high standard throught. The very large open plan living/dining/kitchen is perfect for relaxing with your family and friends. All the rooms are large, light and airy and three bedrooms have their own en-suit whilst the 4th has a separate family bathroom.

The two upstairs bedrooms have balconies with distant views of the sea. At the front there is a large raised terrace facing south to catch the sun during the day or for a relaxed meal in the evening. The property is surrounded on all sides by its gently sloping gardens and faces south with tantalizing glimpses of the sea through the trees. There are lawns all around the bungalow with plenty of room for children to play and parking for 3 cars. Inside there is plenty of space with the rooms decorated in a light and contemporary style and is all on one level. (Please note there are few steps up to the external doors)

The garden is newly laid out this year but maturing well and just a few bare patches in the lawn, so ready for you to relax in and children to play and explore.

Why John Greenslade chose Gorran Haven

My mothers family has lived in Gorran Haven for a number of generations so all my childhood I heard stories of this beautiful Cornish village by the sea. I have owned Arosa for about 8 years and rented it to families each year. About 18 months ago embarked on a major remodeling project to transform the property into a modern, spacious, luxurious open plan house that I had always dreamed about and this is finally being completed in May 2018.

What makes this house unique

We love visiting our cottage in Gorran Haven as we can spend lots of time in and out of the sea a short walk away and know there is a fantastic hot shower waiting for us at the end of the day

Arosa is a large modern property with plenty of room to relax with your family and friends and a good sized safe garden for children for children to play and only a short walk to the beach and coastal paths.

You are close enough to the beach, shop and pub whilst still being in a side road that stays quiet even in August.

This was our second family Easter at arosa. My 3 grandsons had a great egg hunt in the beautiful garden. It is a well equipped house within walking distance of the beach with a lovely cafe and fish & chip shop. The barleysheaf pub is a few minutes drive away. I recommend arosa for a family holiday. We will be returning next year!!!

Notes on accommodation: The property is non smoking and sorry no pets. The garden is fully enclosed with an entrance gate and hedges or fences all around so safe for young children. Outside: Large gardens all around the cottage with grass and shrubs, Patio table and chairs with parasol is provided for use in the garden. There is a gravel patio at the rear where you can relax in the evening sun. There is parking for 2 cars on the drive. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The beds all have non-allergenic duvets and pillows, all bed linen and towels are provided (please bring you own towels for the beach). The property is cleaned at the end of your stay and the linen can be changed after the first week for 2 week bookings. Other: The cottage has full central heating so is very warm and cosy. There is Fibre-optic Broadband WIFI and telephone included (evening and weekend calls included).

Lovely house in a quiet location

Arosa is a lovely modern house in a quiet neighbourhood which suited us very well for our holiday. It is close to a gorgeous little beach and was a great base for exploring Cornwall. Our boys, aged 12 and 6, went body boarding every day on different beaches around the coast, and loved every minute. Also said it was the best holiday ever and want to book again next year. I was impressed with the owner's prompt customer service, instant response. I have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone who wants to visit Cornwall.

Our highlights include: Gorran Haven beach; Bude; Mevagissey; Fowey; Mawgan Porth; Polkerris "Sam's at the beach" restaurant. All in all the perfect family holiday.

Really impressed, fabulous property in a great location.

Goran Haven is a super place to stay, family friendly beach and really good if you want to explore the south Cornwall coast walks. The house was really comfortable a few minor snags, but, nothing our excellent host John did not sort out quickly. We particularly liked the bedroom balconies with views to the coast. Lots of places that you don’t have to drive to far to see as well, Truro, Mevagissey, St Mawes, Lost Gardens of Heligan, St Austell brewery even. Would highly recommend this property and the area for a wonderful relaxing holiday.

Great host, property and location

John was a great host and really helped with our arrival, incl. bed configuration for our 3-generational family of 8. The property was generously sized and very clean with an excellent kitchen, living room, terrace and garden area for the summer evenings. Enjoyable Stay

The holiday accommodation was home from home and found to be comfortable and in a good location. However the disappointment my husband and I found was that the previous people who has stayed at Arosa must have smoked because the property smelt very heavily of cigarette smoke in all of the rooms. We are both non smokers, I personally found this very disappointing because it made the stay not so pleasant, even though windows were opened etc the smell continued to linger. I did check the details on line for this property and did see that non smoking was requested for those staying in the property, clearly this was not the case with the previous people staying before we did.

Not sure if we would come back.

I can only applologise for the smell and assure you I do all I can to make staying at Arosa enjoyable and am rather annoyed that people have been smoking inside against the rules and making it smell badly for you. I have not had this problem before in 4 years of letting Arosa but may now need to put up non smoking signs to remind people its not acceptable. A little piece of Heaven in Cornwall

The bungalow was spotless a real home from home, everything you could want for a relaxing break, felt a home straight away. This is the first break in rented accommodation that we haven't had to do cleaning as soon as we got there, everything was first class. and in a wonderful quiet position. John has been so helpful , we definitely want to return to Arosa again. I would recommend this property to family and friends. We visited the Lost Gardens Heligan and the Eden Project which are situated very close to Arosa. WE had plenty of places to visit from Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, and of course the beautiful beaches and Lands End, so many interesting places to see, and eat out.

We were three differen't generations, but we all agreed we had found a lovely place to stay and a wonderful area to explore.

Coast/Beach:

The safe sandy family beach and interesting harbour at Gorran Haven is just a 10 minute walk away and you can also join the nearby coast path allowing to walk to the harbours Port Mellion and Mevagissey a few miles away. The coast path in both directions is very beautiful and allows you to explore the area and discover hidden beaches and coves that are quiet even in peak season.

Travel:

St Austell has good railway links and you can get a local bus from outside the railway station through to Gorran Haven dropping off just down the road from Arosa. Nearest airport is at Newquay.

Distances:

Getting here:- Gorran Haven is 20 minutes drive from St Austell, 35 minutes from Truro and 1.75 hours from Exeter. Local attractions:- Lost gardens of Heligan 10 minute drive, Mevagissey 20 minute drive, Eden project 30 minutes drive and Caerhays castle and Porthluney beach 10 minutes drive. St Austell with its supermarkets, swimming pool and multiplex cinema is 20 away. Truro with a good range of smaller interesting boutiques and most major high street shops is just 35 minutes away.

Further Details:

Gorran Haven has a fantastic local shop 'Cakebreads' which supplies all the essentials as well being a great little bakery with fresh bread each morning, in season there are also the mermaid cafe next to the beach, a fish and chip shop and a beach stuff shop for buying your buckets and spades.

For an easier option than walking with bags of beach stuff and young children there is on some on street parking just back from the beach in Gorran Haven out of season and a reasonably priced large car park in season.

The village pub “Llawnroc” has been fully refurbished and providing a lovely restaurant and bar overlooking the sea. A short walk up from Arosa is the village playing fields with tennis court and children's play area. If you walk for another few minutes you get to Gorran Churchtown with its pub the Barley Sheaf.
