About Wendy Wilson
My husband and I fell in love with Worth Matravers on our very first visit and were delighted to move to the village in 1985. We purchased the original plot in 1996 and by 2002 had finished the new property to our own design that we love to share with families and friends coming to stay and spend time together .
Why Wendy Wilson chose Worth Matravers
We've known and loved the area since the 1970's and the village has that special atmosphere of sea, coast and countryside unique to the Purbecks, convenient to everywhere but with a unique and beautiful setting all it's own. We love the panoramic views from the house and the way that you can step out the front door into the most beautiful landscape, with the Jurassic Coast path at your feet, pop to the village pub, stroll to the traditional village green and duck pond but be on the beach with bucket, spade and deck chairs within a few minute's drive.

Perfect home for family gathering
Worth Matravers is one of our favourite places so Compass Cottage provides a perfect home away from home for 70th birthday celebrations with age range from 1- 81! Fantastically well equipped, warm and comfortable with wonderful views and the best pub in the world just up the road. Many thanks to Wendy next door for her quietly helpful presence
Beautiful,spacious house with stunning views
My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much. There are plenty of local walks for exploring and the tea room serves quality food . The local pub is also very good and very handy. The house is very warm and welcoming and a brilliant place for relaxing and just enjoying the sea view.

Clean, spacious, cosy home in a beautiful location. Stunning village and surrounding area
We stayed for a 60th birthday weekend as a family of 9 and there was plenty of room. The house was spacious yet cosy and warm. There was everything we needed and more and everything is perfectly organised for your arrival.
There were books and games for our son too. We loved the village and the pub which is a 1 minute walk. Very quaint! We walked through the local village and found a lovely trail out towards the sea but it was a little far for us. The Scott Arms has stunning food within a 5 minute drive. We were in Swanage within a 10 minute drive also.
It’s a great base for the Purbeck coast and a lovely home that we would love to return to in the summer.
Wendy was fantastic and gave us everything we needed and lots of really useful information. Couldn’t fault it!

Great house in good location
Worth Matravers is the perfect Purbeck village; attractive in itself, beautifully located above the coast, with good walking in every direction.
Compass Cottage is ideal for a large group; comfortable, warm, attractively decorated, and spacious (particularly the living room). Great views from the front rooms. Off road parking for three cars.
The owner Wendy is very helpful.
We couldn't recommend it more.

You were super guests, thank you!
Fabulous luxurious property, couldn't fault it
We were three generations, 5 adults, 3 children, staying for a long weekend in January. The house was beautiful, spotless, well equipped and spacious. We loved the light airy dining room at the back of the house overlooking the garden, and the huge lounge with lots of very comfortable seating. The children were delighted with the brio and dollhouse and all the children's books. There was plenty of hot water and the house was always warm, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had a great range of equipment and plentiful cutlery and crockery. Wonderful views of the sea, very quiet and peaceful.
We have stayed in Worth before, so the children were keen to visit the duck pond and lovely playground. So much to do in the surrounding area.
Wendy the owner is next door and had left generous and thoughtful provisions to welcome us and start us off, and was on hand to promptly help with any enquiries.
We loved every minute of our stay in this perfect house and hope to return.
Thank you for your wonderful review, it’s super to receive such positive and helpful feedback and to know you had a happy and comfortable stay together. You were fantastic guests and we look forward to welcoming you and your family again soon.
