A stunning and very impressive farmhouse is available for a ninth season to rent. The house interior has a contemporary feel and is finished to a very high standard with all the Tuscan charm and facilities that you could want for an easy and idyllic Italian holiday. All the rooms are large, light and spacious and are all newly finished and furnished. The house mixes many of the original features with the sometimes much needed modern necessities. There are three patios to choose between to either relax and/or dine on. The beautiful pool we are told is one of the best in the area (to be fair - by the guys that built it!). If you are familiar with the area then we do not need to explain further the ideal setting but for those that don't know the area we attempt to provide as much information in our welcome pack to make sure you fully utilise everything that Lucca and this area has to offer. We bought the house in 2006 as a renovation project and spent 2 years of time and hard work with a great local team, bringing it up to the standard it is today (everything had to be perfect!). 2018 will be our 9th season renting the house. As a family we have been visiting this part of Tuscany for many years and love everything that the area has to offer (especially the food and wine!). We have 2 young children and the house is a great spot for a family holiday. The house is located in the Lucca hills, giving the house tranquility, yet still close to all the amenities and some of the better places to visit in the area. The photos really don't do the house justice. Anyone staying at the house will have a truly wonderful and memorable holiday

Why Owner chose Pescaglia
A great location, very quiet but only a short drive to all amenities. It is also close to the beach clubs of Lido Di Camaiore, many local restaurants, wine farms and the beautiful walled city of Lucca. As a family we have been staying in and visiting this area since 1997

Lovely Tuscan villa
We (two families) had a fantastic week staying in this villa late August 2018. It is tastefully restored with a contemporary note. Wonderful pool great for youngters and adults alike. Great location easy to reach Lucca and Tuscan area. Olive oil producer just 5 mins walk away and vineyards close by.
Would definitely recommend
Thank you Nick
Superb family holiday
Just back from a relaxing holiday near Lucca. The house is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and there is plenty of room both inside and out. The beds and pillows are particularly comfortable. The pool is a real bonus and we all enjoyed our stay. The owners responded promptly to our booking enquiries and provided information on things to do/places to eat. Thank you for allowing us stay in your lovely house.
A wonderful place to relax and unwind but close to local amenities and attractions.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Colli and would happily recomend it to others. The house is well equipped and the pool and outdoor seating was wonderful. We thought it might have been useful to have some written information at the property to refer to regarding the facilities at the house and local area. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely home.
Stunning Villa in a fabulous location with amazing views. Hire car was a benefit
Wonderful family holiday in a Villa which was very clean, the pool & outside seating areas were amazing especially for our party which included 2 grown up children, their partners & our grandchild.
Very grateful we could check in early which was a real bonus.
House Manager was welcoming & gave great advice on where to find good supermarket in Lucca. Slightly disappointed that the House Manager did not respond to my attempts to contact her during our stay so we did feel a bit ‘alone’ especially as their was no local information in the Villa for us to refer too(e.g. taxi numbers)
Also very surprised at the lack of cleaning materials available for us to use. The Villa is beautiful & we wanted to keep it clean which is why we went out to buy basic locally cleaning products (e.g. bathroom & toilet cleaners, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, BBQ charcoal, matches & even a corkscrew as we couldn’t find one anywhere)
Lovely to find inflatables lilo’s for the pool which supplemented our pool inflatables which we have left behind for other users.
The Villa is perfect for both a small family holiday or a couple of couples. All of our family loved it & want us to rebook for next year which we may well do. As we will be a party of 6 adults it would be good to have enough sun beds for the adults next year !
Beautiful villa in regional Tuscany, perfect location with easy access to many places
The villa is beautifully restored and very well appointed. We (8) enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks with family of all ages. There is plenty of space for everyone to have their own space if required but also share time together be it in the pool area, lounge, outdoor dining table or outdoor chairs. The villa is set in a genuine Tuscan rural area surrounded by olive trees and forests. Whilst a car is a necessary, the villa was a great base to explore so many of the surrounding areas including Pisa, Florence, Garafugnana, Lucca and Montecarlo. There are lots of delightful little restaurants in the surrounding areas including La Collina. We thoroughly enjoyed a very personal wine tasting at the Vallee Del Sol, a relatively small winery with delightful red wine. The owners, Nick and Adele, were very helpful and Responded promptly in all email contact as was Gina, the locally based property manager. All in all a wonderful Experience.
The prestigious beach resorts of Forte dei Marmi & Lido di Camaiore are a 30 minute drive away, the drive alone is spectacular winding through the Tuscan countryside. You are spoilt for choice between the hundreds of private beach clubs but we use & recommend the beach club and restaurant in Lido di Camaiore called Il Cavallone http://www.bagnocavallone.it/en/default.aspx. (great lunches on the beach). In the welcome information pack we provide details of other beach clubs and contacts details depending on your needs. Forti has several designer shops and boutiques and is a great place to grab a late afternoon cocktail and just watch the world pass by.
Pisa airport is approx. 40 minutes by car. Florence is approx. 1 hour by car.
A car or car hire is recommended to travel to and from the house and to explore the surrounding area. However, if needed, local taxi information is available.
The medieval walled town of Lucca is about a 15 drive. It has all the amenities you'd require, including shops, bars, banks, restaurants, local markets, festivals and concerts. The Lucca Summer Music Festival in July attracts many of the world's top performers. It is worth looking into what is showing in the amphitheaters and the main squares. Performance include Puccini recitals by a local group, to a James Brown or Bon Jovi concert. Monsagrati village is only a few minutes down the 'hill'
Our agent Gina will meet you on arrival, and will give you very comprehensive information pack regarding what there is to do and see in the area. If required we can arrange for a basket of local produce to be available upon arrival (additional cost). However, if you have a few ideas of your own we can book these for you in advance, or you can organise with Gina upon arrival.
A few ideas are below:
1. We can highly recommend an English speaking babysitter, who has excellent references and who we've used for years.
2. There are many local restaurants with the amazing views and spectacular local food and wines (all within 5 to 20 mins). These are not touristy restaurants and will offer a first class experience. We have been going to most of these restaurants for years and we can highly recommend them
3. A pizza night at the house with a pizza chef
4. Private Italian Chef for the week or just one night (or even cooking classes)
5. Horse Riding
6. Local olive Oil and wine Tasting
7. Kayaking, cycling and walking in the surrounding area
8. The stunning walled medieval city of Lucca is only 15 mins away. During the summer months it has several varied music festivals. The cobbled streets are full of Italian designer shops, bars and restaurants
9. We recommend renting bikes to cycle around the City's famous walls giving breathtaking views of the surrounding area (available for all ages)
10. Experience at least one Puccini opera recital in Lucca
11. Children fun parks - 'Wet n Wild' at the Aqua Village Water Park or family entertainment at the 'Cavallino Matto'
11.The famous historic Tuscan cities of Florence, Pisa and Sienna are close by
12. The beautiful towns of Barga and Castlenuovo di Garfagnana are worth a visit. Set amongst stunning scenery, enjoy walking, cycling or visiting the many castles and monasteries as well as the great weekly markets
13. The beach resorts of Forte de Marmi & Pietrasanta; beach clubs recommended for either families or adults
