Our stunning Georgian stone cottage has been renovated to strike a balance between tradition, luxury and sustainability, from the thick stone walls to the luxurious hansgrohe shower; from the warmth of the Aga wood burning stove, to the convenience of a modern kitchen equiped with all mod con's; from the original wooden joists of the grain store room to access to your very own utility/boot room. Whilst retaining many of its original features, the cottage wherever possible, has been renovated using natural & local materials and is environmentally friendly - the heart of which is the air source pump which provides radiant underfloor heating throughout the cottage. All furnishings have been individually selected and are of a high/exceptional standard. Outside, you can roam our 11 acre site and enjoy many of our quiet and tranquil seating areas, whether in the sun or the shade of the trees.
Cottage in Morvil, Nr. Newport, Pembrokeshire, Wales - Peaceful Rural Retreat on Self Sufficient Farm with Views of the Preseli Mountains
We are a small family of 4 living out our dream in rural Wales. We have always wanted our very own smallholding, where we could give self sufficiency a real go but remain linked to a very active and supportive local area. This location has enabled us to live that dream, and every month we are getting closer to reality. Having finished the holiday cottage, we have now a range of livestock including geese, chickens, pigs and sheep. We have also managed to erect our poly tunnel so are now busy planting our own fruit and vegetables. Tom and Barbara Good eat your heart out!

Why Owner chose Clynderwen
Pembrokeshire is just an unbelievable county. Even now we are still exploring new and wonderful beaches and attractions. Where else in the UK can you have a beach all to yourselves, enjoy a BBQ whilst watching the sun go down. It really has so much to offer for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors...its just a dream come true and we have only been here over a year!
What makes this Cottage unique
This property is genuinely unique. In our very rural location, we have ponds, streams, woods and open fields and views, where we can listen and see the sheep, cattle and birds of prey. That said, within a 15 or so minute drive, you can be shopping in Laura Ashley or M&S on the outskirts of Haverfordwest or swimming in the sea at Newport Sands. Truly remarkable!

A unique experience in a beautiful traditional cottage
Wow - what an amazing place and wonderful hosts. The cottage is beautifully traditional from the outside and converted inside to lovely, modern, and comfortable with a high quality. We stayed in the winter and it was so cosy with the underfloor heating and didn't have to use the lovely log burner.
As an experience its unique as the cottage opens onto a courtyard with loads of (non-scary) farm animals wandering around, all stabled opposite. This is really lovely for children, and our 2 young sons were thrilled. Its also really well set up for children inside, and they loved their own winding staircase leading only to their bedroom and well kitted out playroom with 2nd tv, dvd, small furniture, books and toys etc.
Claire and Angus were really helpful in advance of our stay, and perfect hosts while we were there - we would definitely come back and wish them the best of luck with their project.
Cosy .rural retreat
We enjoyed a most relaxing stay in this well appointed stone cottage at the edge of the Prescelli national park, with friendly proprietors and friendly animals.Animal lovers will be enthralled by the friendly sheep, geese & pony on your doorstep. The location ,itself spectacular, was within easy driving distance to some of Pembokeshires beautiful coves & beaches & on lazy days we just enjoyed exploring & walking in the cottage smallholding grounds.
Cosy cottage in Pembrokeshire
Ideally situated to access a varied selection of this beautiful area. Cottage very cosy, under-floor heating a great asset with log-burner adding to the atmosphere. The varied menagerie out-side were great fun even had inquisitive horse looking over the stable door at breakfast. The sky at night was the best star studded vista I have seen this side of the equator. Would recommend for a relaxing stay with or without kids.
Lovely cottage, warm wlecome
Had a really great week at Vaynor Isaf despite rather chilly weather for late August. Claire, Angus and the children made us really welcome, and the cottage was warm, comfortable and well equipped. The setting is beautiful, and the kids loved watching the animals wandering around the farmyard outside, and playing in the surrounding fields. The location is really central, making it easy to reach any part of the county within an hour. We visited Newgale and Whitesands beaches, which are both good for surfing/body boarding, and spent time at St Davids cathedral and the castle at Cilligan. All very good. Our favourite days out were Picton castle, which has a lovely interior as well as fabulous gardens, lots of things for the kids, and and excellent and cheap courtyard restaurant (Maria's), and Castell Henllys, a reconstruction of an iron age settlement (excellent guided tour) We will definitely be back to Pembrokeshire soon. If you're using a sat nav, note that the postcode on the HomeAway website is wrong (correct postcode is SA66 7RG, not SA66 7RE).
Fantastic Cottage in a wonderful location
Brilliant cottage, and Angus and Claire were perfect hosts. Nothing left to chance in a very well furnished and equipped little hideaway. Welcome pack very much appreciated after a long journey. Pembrokeshire was, as always, wonderful! Thank you.
Lovely stay in nice Cottage
We had a nice stay in wales and the cottage was very good. Everything was there and loved all the animals.
No other county in Britain has more Blue Flag beaches or Seaside Award beaches than Pembrokeshire. With over 50 beaches to choose from, there is a beach to meet every need whether you want to sail, surf, kayak, rockpool, fish, swim or sunbathe.
Driving by car, we are approximately 2 hours from Cardiff (our closest regional airport) heading west along the M4. Coming by train, the closest station would be Clarbeston Road, from where by arrangement we could pick you up. Although a car is not absolutely essential if you wanted to do lots of walking from the cottage, it is certainly recommended to fully enjoy all Pembrokeshire has to offer. Remember the traffic, or lack of it, makes driving here a delight.
Cardigan; Home of our kids favourite sweet shop, Yum Yum's! - 17 miles.
Newport; Fabulous family beach, with restaurants and cafes to boot - 8 miles.
Haverfordwest; Great selection of shops and supermarkets - 12 miles.
Fishguard; From here, why not take a ferry and visit Ireland for the day? - 7 miles.

Carmarthan - 34 miles.

For nearby shops, you really are spoilt for choice. Within a 12 mile radius you can enjoy the convenience of the large supermarkets, such as Tesco's, Morrisons and Co-Op as well as the delights of local produce from farm shops and farmers markets. These provide local and organic beef, pork and lamb, fresh fish and a selection of welsh cheeses and fruit and veg.
As for places of interest and leisure activities, we are perfectly located to enjoy so many of Pembrokeshire's key attractions, including - Numerous National Trust beaches and Coastal Path; Folly Farm & Oakwood, both are Wales' premier farm & theme park attractions; Casteil Henllys (Iron Age Fort); Llys-y-fran Country Park Trout Fishing and Reservoir; Boat trips to the islands of Skomer, Skokholm, Grassholm and Ramsey (a must for bird lovers and those wanting to watch dolphins!); St.David's cathedral; Carew, Pembroke and Picton Castles; Blue Lagoon Leisure Park; Scolton Manor; Anna Ryder-Richardson's Manor House Wildlife Park; The West Wales Adventure - where you can hire or have lessons on sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and surfing.
For those wanting to enjoy the many restaurants and pubs that Pembrokeshire has to offer, you won't be disappointed. Our favourite family restaurant is Something's Cooking, only 7 miles away in Letterston where you will be treated to the best fish and chips Wales has to offer. For those of you looking for more fancy food, with many of Pembrokeshire's restaurants and pubs using fresh local ingredients, you really should be in for a gastronomic Welsh experience. Whatever your taste, just let us know when you arrive and we will do our best to point you in the right direction. The nearest pubs including those in Rosebush, Dinas and Newport, certainly feature in good pub guides.
