The house is pet friendly with an enclosed back yard. Alnmouth is a small picturesque village with a variety of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and gift shops. With a large variety of activities on the door step including; golf, surfing, boating, walking, cycling, fishing and boat trips to Coquet Island and The Farne Islands.

About Alison Stephens
I am excited to have bought Sefton House in Alnmouth, as my family and I love the area. We feel this is a little undiscovered gem of a location on the Northumberland coast. I have been bringing my family here for years and we love walking (and playing) on the beaches, that never seem busy regardless of what time of year you come. I fell for Alnmouth and the area one summer as we drove up the coastal route and this beautiful, coloured village appeared on our horizon. I grew up in Yorkshire and have returned after many years in the south. The fact I can be in Alnmouth in 90 minutes on the train makes this a perfect location.

The main reason I decided to buy in Alnmouth was the initial view you get when driving from Warkworth, north, along the coastal route. You come across a brightly painted village that feels undiscovered and undisturbed. The area is very accessible via car (Just off the A1) or train (both the Virgin East Coast and the Cross Country tramlines stop in Alnmouth) but you feel as though you may have stepped back in time. The property has great space fro family or social groups who want to spend time away together and has all the equipment you need for a hassle-free stay!

I aim to offer you a luxury stay in Alnmouth, a stone's throw from amazing beaches, great golf courses, fantastic walking and cycling routes, with local hospitality in the numerous pubs, restaurants and shops just at the end of the road. The property is managed by locally so there is always someone on hand if you need any help or advice.

Lovely big terraced house ,nicely proportioned
To celebrate a 60th Birthday...a secret get together with family arriving from 3 parts of the country. Lovely walks on the beach, visit to Howick Hall, then food and drink back at the house.
Very nice welcome pack, and a very well-equipped kitchen .
Mild November for our weekend away. Would certainly like to visit in Summer.
Great place for a large group
We were 12 friends from various parts of the country meeting up for a 1970's school reunion. The aim was to see the Northeast coastline, have walking days out and relaxed company. Sefton House and Alnmouth was a perfect choice, comfortable, spacious, very clean and well-appointed. Plenty of hot water! Everyone had a wonderful time and loved Sefton House. Many thanks for having us.

Really lovely house with character, very good communication with owner. All beds very comfortable and everything needed provided with care and attention. Lovely location near to beach, walks, restaurants etc.
Fantastic spacious property for a group of 12 cyclists
The property was spacious enough, with enough bathroooms for our cycling group plus the secure rear yard was great for storing bikes! Highly recommend... the only downside was that that thermostat on the shower in room 2 didn’t work & needs some attention!
Winter weekend with friends
12 of us spent a very happy weekend in this lovely house. The accommodation was very comfortable - great beds - and provided the perfect base for our walking and talking holiday. The weather was freezing but we were cosy with the log fire backing up the central heating. Endless hot water for showers and a great dining table for gatherings and games.

The quiet long golden sandy beach is only a couple of minutes walk away & is perfect for a romantic picnic or stroll and is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle. A beautiful rural setting and plenty of bird watching opportunities along the sand dunes makes Almnouth beach one of the finest in Northumberland.
The nearest airport is Newcastle International Airport approx. 45 minutes drive away. Alnmouth Train Station is a 10-15 minute walk through the village & is located on the main North Easten Line providing links to Newcastle, local towns such as Berwick & Morpeth & further afield such as Edinburgh & York and London.
There is also a good local network of local bus services, with a bus stop right at the top of the street.
The nearby town of Alnwick is a five minute drive away & is dominated by the medieval castle, home to the Duke and Duchess of Northumberland. The castle, open to the public, recently found fame as the setting for the Harry Potter movies. Also located here is The Alnwick Garden, a spectacular new garden within the castle grounds, and features water displays, a newly opened pavilion and the largest tree house in Europe. The garden is open every day of the year except Christmas day.
Alnmouth has a number of great cafe's, pubs & restaurants & a local grocery shop. It also has a quaint gift shop and a post office. Alnwick has a full range of high street shops, supermarkets & banks.
Sefton house also offers an in house chef if requested in advance. Great for special meals and occasions.
Booking Notes: 25% deposit is required on booking and remainder outstanding is payable 8 weeks before arrival. Cards, cheques and bank transfers are accepted! Changeover Day: Changeover day is usually on a Friday,but flexible. Arrival time is 16:00 and departure by 10:00 - these times are also flexible. Contact owner for your specific requirements.
