Ground floor apartment linked to family home. Spacious kitchen and living area, good size bathroom with bath and shower, double bedroom with fitted wardrobes. Step down into living room from kitchen. Large garden for alfresco dining. On A30 with easy access to Penzance, Long Rock, Marazion, Helston, Hayle and St Ives. Marazion and Long Rock beaches only 15 minutes walk. West Cornwall Golf Club and Cape Cornwall Golf Club 15 minutes drive. One minute walk to bus stops on A30. Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons within 5 minute drive, village shop and Post Office in Long Rock.

About Catherine

I look after the bookings for this property for my mother, Jean. She lives in the other half of the house and thoroughly enjoys welcoming visitors to the apartment. She is retired and so is able to take an active interest in all her guests if they so wish.

I live just under a mile away in the village of Ludgvan so one of us is usually on hand if you need anything.

Catherine purchased this apartment in 1987

Why Catherine chose Ludgvan

I really like this apartment because I lived there for many years myself. I moved to Cornwall with my parents in the early 1980s when they purchased this property and I lived there with them for several years. When I moved out, the space I was living in was easily converted to an apartment within their house.

There is an adjoining door to the main house but this is kept locked when the apartment is rented and has bolts on both sides of the doors to ensure privacy and security for all guests.

There is a lovely garden which can be enjoyed by visitors with a large lawn leading down to small orchard. On a nice sunny day, sit on the wall by the fish pond and wait for the goldfish to pop up and say hello. While sitting there - if you're lucky - look upwards and see the buzzards circling overhead.

It is, as described on the side of the A30. Our guests have said in the past that they don't notice the traffic when they are inside, but obviously it can be heard in the outdoor areas.

Notes on accommodation: The rental price includes electricity and heating - thermostatically controlled. Apartment cleaned before you arrive and the bed made. For two week stays clean towels and linen are provided weekly - on Saturday - for you to change over. However, if you wish to have the apartment cleaned with towels and bedding changed for you on the middle Saturday, there is a £25 charge for this service; this is payable prior to your arrival. We regret that we are unable to accommodate children and there is a no smoking and no pets policy. Outside: Private parking area. Full use of main lawn area. There is a small lawned area by the entrance gate which has a rotary washing line for your use. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bedlinen, bath towels, hand towels, tea towels all included. Apartment cleaned before you arrive and the bed made. For two week stays clean towels and linen are provided weekly - on Saturday - for you to change over. Please bring your own beach towels

Property was lovely. Clean and well maintained. Very comfortable too. Cream tea with scones and cream on arrival were superb. How do we get our deposit back. Owner says you have it so if you could let us have it back now, that would be great.

A great apartment for touring the area but too near the main road.

A very well equipped apartment for two. Every thing you need for self catering(except a hairdryer). Extremely roomy. Made to feel welcome and enjoyed the cream tea provided on arrival. Plenty of places to visit by car and within walking distance of St. Michael's Mount and Longrock beach.

Had to clean the central drainer of the sink but otherwise a great place to base yourself for all things Cornish!

Me and my wife were totally impressed

We was positively surprised upon arrival and saw the property from the outset and the surprise extended further when we open the door and get inside as even though the discriptiion is fairly good, for some reason I had a different idea. Meeting the owner to collect the key let us quickly realise that we were in for a treat as she is one of the loveliest people you'll ever meet and that soft spoken voice with a wealth of local knowledge immediately tells us we have made the right choice.

It's a pity the property isn't suitable for family as we would certainly return as such but nonetheless if we ever return to Cornwall as a couple there is no place else we would rather stay

A little gem

This property can only be described as a perfect little gem. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable whilst providing deceptively spacious accommodation. The owner was wonderfully kind although never intrusive. Her welcoming cream tea was a lovely touch on our arrival. The bed linens and towels were immaculately fresh and clean.

We look forward to returning to this property in the future and have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home from home.

Marazion beach and Long Rock beach are both less than 5 mins by car or 15 mins walking. There are some lovely beaches in St Ives - 15 mins by car or Hayle 15 mins by car.


Newquay airport is approx 40 miles away. Penzance railway station and bus station is around two miles. Penzance Heliport for flights to the Isles of Scilly is around 1.5 miles and Land's End Aerodrome is 11 miles - again for trips to the Isles of Scilly.


Places to visit - St Ives approx 7 miles with lots of lovely restaurants, beaches, Tate Gallery, Barbara Hepworth Museum. The Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, 12 miles. Land's End is 12 miles. Truro and Falmouth are both around 25 miles. Marazion and St Michael's Mount are 2 miles away. Hayle, with its 3 mile long surfing beach is 6 miles.

Further Details:

There is a Morrisons supermarket in Long Rock and Tesco at Eastern Green, Penzance - both less than 2 miles away. There is now also a Sainsbury's where the heliport used to be. Long Rock has a couple of pubs while Penzance and Marazion both have plenty of pubs and restaurants. There is a leisure centre in Penzance with indoor swimming pool, gym, squash and badminton courts.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday. Please vacate the property by 10.00am so that we can prepare it for the next visitors. You may access the property from 2.00pm onwards. These times may be negotiable at certain times of the year.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 30 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 60 days before check-in date.
