Charming 2 bedroom detached bungalow with a sheltered west-facing yard. An unusual property which oozes character and offers a high degree of privacy for such a central location. With fast free WIFI, Smart TV (Netflix and I-Player) and BT Sport channels. Originally the village telephone exchange, the property has been tastefully converted to offer a secluded cul-de-sac base with off-street parking for two cars. The cottage offers a quiet retreat and a perfect base from which to explore the beautiful Northumberland coastline. Little Haven is in the heart of Seahouses village with its famous harbour, shops, pubs and restaurants just a stone's throw away. Patio furniture, parasol and barbecue (stored under bunkbeds) provided.

About Dylan Younger
I am a 47-year-old self-employed father of two children, and I own the cottage jointly with my partner, Karen. We love the relaxed pace of the life in Seahouses, the cosy old-fashioned pubs, the superb wildlife and birdwatching, the stunning castles and coastal views and the countless beautiful walks along the beach and the dunes.
Dylan Younger purchased this Bungalow in 2002
Why Dylan Younger chose Seahouses
Karen and I both have fond childhood memories of holidays on the beautiful Northumberland beaches. We bought the cottage in 2002 when our children were very young and have enjoyed many special family holidays in it since. With lovely walks, spectacular views and acres of sandy beaches just a few minutes' walk from the front door, we have found it a cosy and convenient base from which to explore our favourite part of the British Isles. This part of Northumberland is one of the most unspoilt areas of England, and its rich wildlife and cosy character pubs and restaurants have kept us returning year after year. My whole family has, time and again, relished the relaxed pace of life offered by a break in Seahouses.
What makes this Bungalow unique
In Seahouses, the stresses & strains of working life ebb away in a beautiful harbour village which has lost none of its historic charm. The shopping centres of Newcastle and Gateshead are less than an hour's drive, but also a world away. The addition of an indoor heated pool and gym at the village leisure centre has proven an added attraction, while the village's proximity to the pretty market towns of Alnwick (recently voted as the town with the best quality of life in the UK!) and Berwick, has been a great benefit. We have travelled further afield to Edinburgh (90 minutes' drive) to see the castle and the zoo, but Seahouses itself offers so much, with a warm friendly welcome, a smattering of unusual craft and gift shops, some superb pubs offering great value food & two Indian restaurants.

Could not have been better
Great cottage, great location and close to town centre. We were very impressed from our first contact with the owner who was really friendly and helpful and answered all questions quickly . The cottage is well furnished, immaculately clean and very comfortable. There plenty of space to relax, comfy beds, wifi and a good TV package. This was our first trip to Seahouses and will not be the last, we will definitely try to book this venue again in the future. Well done the owners on providing such a great well maintained cottage.
Comfy and spotless
Lovely place to stay, great for the two of us. Brilliant location, lots to do, easy to walk to Bamburgh and Beadnell. Local shops, restaurants great. Nice to know Dylan around if any problems, and directions, info re parking all fine. Might be old fashioned, but a visitors book would be good. 😁 Low Newton beach also fantastic. Thanks for providing great holiday accommodation, hope to return. 👍
The cottage was cosy, quaint and was well equipped with everything we needed.
We had a great holiday in Seahouses. Little Haven cottage was just a stones throw away from the centre making everything easily accessible. The cottage was very comfortable with excellent Wifi connection. It was very well equipped with everything we needed. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful area. Can't wait to visit again.
Well equipped little cottage with everything we needed.
Cottage is set back from main road so heard no traffic noise. Cottage had everything needed for a short stay and a few thoughtful details beside. Kitchen recently kitted out with functional IKEA accessories, good toaster, microwave, oven and grill. No washing machine but laundrette nearby if that was problem for you. WiFi was superb, with loads of Freeview TV (and cable sport if that’s your thing). Good electric shower and electric heating (although we were there on the hottest week of the year). Parking is tight so if you have a wider than normal vehicle plan on parking it elsewhere-this was the only drawback and it is well warned in the documentation for the property. Great location for all of the Northumberland coast and more.
Would heartily recommend for couple or small family needing a holiday base.
Lovely little cottage...
Lovely little cottage, very nicely decorated/furnished and kitted out with all you need for your stay. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, close enough to the sea and with a handy supermarket within a few mins walk. Only small downside was the available parking. Great value for money.
Thanks for the review Penny. I'm pleased you had a lovely stay, and you are welcome back any time. The parking space is tight width-wise, and you do have to take care when parking up (it's about the width of a garage), but I did want to mention for prospective guests that there is a private parking space, and parking is free.
Well equipped cottage. Would be perfect with the addition of a dishwasher and wifi.
Thanks James - so pleased you had a good time at Little Haven. The kitchen area is not large enough for a dishwasher, unfortunately. But I do take your point on the wifi. We will be sorting this out early in 2018 so if you would like to return - any time from February onwards - it should be sorted. Regards, Dylan
Special interest holidays:
No visit to Seahouses would be complete without a boat trip to the Farne Islands, with its puffin and seal colonies - one of the most impressive areas of natural history in the British Isles.
The cottage is just five minutes walk from two of the impressive beaches in Britain - beautiful, unspoilt stretches of sand which offer superb views of the Farne Islands and the world-famous Bamburgh Castle.
The cottage is less than hour's drive from Newcastle airport, and a similar drive from North Shields ferry port. There is plenty to see right on the doorstep of Seahouses and Bamburgh, but using a car would allow you to get the most from your visit, and explore the full stretch of the beautiful North Northumberland coastline.
Bamburgh with its world-famous castle, is just three miles away, and the beautiful harbour village of Beadnell, with its pubs, restaurants, nature reserve and long stretches of sandy beaches, is less than 2 miles away.
Little Haven is right on the doorstep for some of the most charming pubs and restaurants in Northumberland - including the famous Ship Inn, a veritable treasure trove of local maritime history, overlooking the picturesque harbour.
