Located just off Reaburn Place, the main street in Stockbridge. The apartment is on the first floor, at the front of the building, parking is available at the rear of the building and there is a lift. Large living room with french windows leading onto sunny balcony. Recently fitted fully equipped kitchen. One double bedroom and single room. Modern bathroom with bath and shower. We have 2 apartments in adjacent buildings, they are of similar size, standard and cost. See reference no SC135.

About Johan Hensens

Ancrum Craig in the Scottish Borders is our home since 1976 and we have run it as a B&B from the beginning! We bought a flat for our daughter to live in when she studied in Edinburgh. That was way back in 99. On graduation Erica moved to London we we decided to renovate the flat and rent it out for short term holiday lets.

This was successful and in 2006 we bought Pamela's flat next door.(SC2135)

We meet and greet all our guests, and do all the cleaning and maintenance. You can find full details of our accommodations on our website.

Why Johan Hensens chose Stockbridge

We bought this apartment when our daughter went to University in Edinburgh. She has meanwhile moved on and since than we use the apartment for holiday lets.

It is in walking distance from the very centre but does not have the crowds, noise and the tartan tat from the Old Town. It is a safe area of the town, and has a village atmosphere. It is close to the large green open spaces of Inverleith Park and the Royal Botanic gardens.

What makes this apartment unique

Erica's apartment is on the first floor and there is a lift. The balcony allows you to sit in the open air.

All the shopping you are likely to need during your stay is available within 200 meters. There are also a large number of quality pubs and restaurants just round the corner.

You can walk to all the main tourist attractions from the apartment but there is also a bus stop round the corner with a frequent service to all part of the town, including the university.

Charming, clean, great location and very nice, helpful landlord!

We had a very relaxing week in Erica’s apartment. Located just off a lively corner in Stockbridge, we were able to walk, take the bus and generally move around easily. Nice restaurants, grocery stores, shops in the area. Easy walking to so many great sites. A wonderful experience!

Nice quiet place, close to everything

Me, my husband, and our 20 year old son stayed here for three nights. The apartment was big enough for us, had everything we needed for the time we were there, and was close to everything we needed and wanted to see. There is a bus stop right out front but we found all of the major sites within walking distance (about one mile from the train station, castle, old town, new town, etc.) we were able to see so much more and stop in places whenever we chose instead of having to get on and off the bus. The neighborhood was close to many things but still in a quiet area. We were right near many pubs, restaurants, shops, the Stockbridge Tap was right out our front entrance and had very good food and drinks and was a nice place to stop in for a drink before turning in for the night. The owner had good communication with me before we arrived and gave excellent directions on how to use the bus or taxi from the train station (that is how we arrived). Very good value for what we got :)

Erica's Apartment - great accommodation

We loved our stay in Erica's apartment. It was ideally situated for our needs and with parking available it was great as we had our car with us. The apartment was well equipped with everything you need including a washing machine. The location was great for buses and local shops nearby too. I would recommend it to friends and hopefully we will stay there again in the future.

Absolutely amazing location, great experience from start to finish

One of my favorite cities in the world is Edinburgh, and my favorite part of Edinburgh is Stockbridge. I booked this apartment for myself and our two teenage sons for four nights without *quite* knowing the exact location, but on arrival was suitably blown away. It's at the intersection of Raeburn Place, Dean St and St Bernard's Row, which means 100 meters max to all of life's real necessities. There's a bus stop practically outside the front door. Via the stairs next to the Stockbridge Pharmacy, it's a 7 minute walk to the heart of New Town. The 70s-era building where the ("first", i.e., second floor) flat is located is a bit uninspired in comparison to most of the others in the neighborhood, but the interior is precisely as pictured—bright, cheery, impeccably clean, extremely warm in an eco-friendly way (we visited in late February), with a small but usable balcony. Our host Johan was a delight at every stage in the process, and emailed a few times during our stay to make sure all was in order. We left energized, and would definitely stay here again and again.

Comfortable apartment in a lovely meighborhood

From the beginning, my experience with Johan was nothing but positive. It is always a little bit of a risk booking a place for several weeks, but I was not disappointed. The apartment lived up to the photos. As I am always cold, heating is a big concern for me, especially during my stay from November through the first of January! Erica's apartment is cozy and warm. It is less than a mile to Princes Street (Johan will show you the locals shortcut), although there are plenty of coffee shops, pubs, and groceries just around the corner. When the weather is bad or when you don't want to walk, the bus stop is literally just out the front door. I have stayed in other areas of Edinburgh, but this was my best experience.The Botanic Gardens are a short walk from the apartment. The Water of Leith walk is close by and would be especially nice in the summer. There is a weekly Sunday Market nearby as well as many charity shops for fun shopping. Johan strives to make your stay quite comfortable and he succeeds!

Great flat - great location

This was a flat I'd be very happy to stay in again. Comfortable, cosy, spotlessly clean and in a wonderful location. In easy reach of the city - bus stop practically on the doorstep, Botanic Gardens are an easy walk away and some great coffee to be had in Stockbridge cafes.

Edinburgh is famous for its festivals, which cover science, films, books, classical music, jazz, etc. You name it we have it!

Coast/Beach:

There is bus just round the corner to the Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht is moored. Another 15 min bus ride brings you to Cramond, where you can walk along the shore on the Roseberry estate. At the back of the apartment is the Water of Leith walkway which brings you the the Botanical gardens or the major Edinburgh Galleries.

Travel:

From the airport a taxi cost about £20. The bus £3.50 to town and another £1.30 to the apartment.
