Villa in Candolim, North Goa, India - Private, Serene Home, 10 minutes Walk to Beach

Built in the Indo-Portuguese style, the house is situated in Candolim, just off the main street, yet once inside the gates of the guarded community, there is a sense of serenity and peace. The coconut, mango trees and other flora give it an aesthetically pleasing environment. The tiled patio on 3 sides gives a chance to enjoy the outdoors and a place for children to play. The swimming pool is just beyond the house. Full air conditioning, satellite TV, exquisite modern furnishings and fittings and power backup in case of power cut. The villa is maintained as a home away from home. All 3 bedrooms are comfortable and kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and appliances, maid service is provided every alternate day with linen change every third day. All this is available at less than half the price of a resort hotel. Candolim beach is about 10 minute walk. Supermarkets, internet cafe, ATM's, restaurants all within a 5-minute walk.

About Meena Kumar

We are an NRI family and have recently purchased this property in January 2010 as we fell in love with Goa and have been increasingly spending a lot of time here. We have made a lot of friends amongst locals & fellow travellers. Once in a while we like to have our friends and family join us & so found this to be ideal in all aspects. Though in the heart of happening Candolim, the apartment is a quiet retreat surrounded.After a day spent on the beach or other activities, you walk back into the cool secure comfort of the apartment.

Just wanted to say thank you so much - your villa is absolutely lovely. It looked great online but was even better in reality. So spacious, clean and comfortable, but also very beautifully decorated, and lovely grounds. It was great having a proper kitchen with microwave and cooker so we could sort our own meals. And the water filter was a real asset for us - saved us having to carry bottled water back from the shops all the time. And the maid, Angela, was very nice and helpful. It proved ideal for our family holiday and we would definitely look at booking again next year. My father lives in Goa so we hope to return soon.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Candolim beach which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the villa. It has beach shacks with sun loungers and bars. Other beaches can be easily reached by scooter or taxi and are 10 to 20 minutes away.

Travel:

The villa is approximately 45 minutes drive from Dabolim airport. Airport transfers can be arranged with prior notice. Local taxis are available as are scooters on daily rent for easy local travel.

Distances:

45 minute approximate drive from Dabolim airport. 10 minute drive from Calangute. 20 minutes drive to Panjim. 30 minutes drive to the famous Wednesday flea market at Anjuna. 20 minutes to Ingo Saturday night market. Famous beaches of Aswem and Morjim are also accessible by car.

Further Details:

The villa is situated in a quiet corner of Candolim and yet as soon as one steps out of the gate, there is a mini super-market, general stores, internet cafe, music store, Cafe Coffee Day, all within a 1-minute walk. The biggest super-market in North Goa - Newton's, which stocks foreign and Indian brands is about 5 minutes walk, as are several restaurants on the main Candolim road. The Candolim Beach Road is home to a large number of restaurants and pubs serving all kinds of cuisine. Bureau de Change, Banks, ATM's, phone centres are all within 10 minutes walking distance.

Booking Notes:
50% deposit is required at the time of booking. Balance full payment has to be made 4 weeks prior arrival. The villa accommodates max 6 persons and extra persons will not be accommodated. Only persons booked to stay at the Villa may use the facilities provided as part of the Villa eg. swimming pool, patio. Rights of entry to the complex are restricted.

Changeover Day:
There is no preferable change-over day. Over X-mas and New Year, we reserve the right to insist that bookings are for minimum 1 week or that there is not a gap of more than 1 day between bookings. Check-in at 2pm. Check-out at 11am.

Notes on prices:
Payments are accepted in Indian rupees as well. The exchange rate to be calculated by the currency converter. Booking not in multiples of 7 days will be charged pro-rata. Discounts for bookings of over 15 days mainly for the period 16th April to 30th September. We encourage bookings of 2 weeks during Xmas and New Year's period (21st Dec - 03rd Jan). For less than 10 days but including both Xmas and New Year's day, a surcharge of £150 will be charged.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

Notes on accommodation: The living room and all 3 bedrooms have air-conditioning. There is a inverter which provides emergency power in case of power cuts. A good quality water filter is fitted in the kitchen for drinking water. For the convenience of our guests we provide a welcome pack on arrival, which contains : 5L jar of packaged drinking water, Tea bags, Coffee, Sugar, a loaf of bread, Butter & 1 L pack of Nestle UHT milk. Outside: The house has a tiled patio running on 3 sides. On the east side, there is a small lawn with coconut trees at the end. The ground floor has the living room, kitchen & dining area, all of which have large windows and doors which open onto the patio and give a view of the amazing plants growing around the house. On the south side, there is outdoor cane furniture to relax in and can seat 6 persons. A gardener comes in daily and waters the plants and cleans the patio. The villa is in a secure gated community with a 24-hour guard at the gate. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and bath towels are provided and will be changed every fourth day.Maid cleaning service every alternate day. On request and at an additional charge, breakfast can be cooked by the maid. A gardener attends to the plants everyday and cleans the patio.
