A quaint cottage, comfortable and very well equipped. An ideal location for exploring the wonderful Peak District.
A little gem in Longnor
We loved staying at Jacks Cottage. It was immaculate and cosy. We really appreciated the extra touches and the wine, chocs and milk in the fridge. It felt like a well loved home. Longnor is a great base for exploring the area. We will definitely book again as we visit the area every year. Thank you!
A little gem!
We had a delightful stay in this lovely cottage. Despite the awful weather the cottage was warm and cosy! Mary, the owner was very friendly and had thoughtfully left a bottle of wine and some chocolates in the cottage for us when we arrived. The village of Longnor was very friendly and we enjoyed fish and chips, coffee and cake at Cobbles cafe and a lovely meal at Merchants House. The scenery around Longnor and the surrounding countryside is outstanding with plenty to see and do. We will be back soon!
Lovely weekend getaway!
Jack's Cottage was the perfect bolthole for a relaxed weekend in the Peaks! It is so lovingly restored and the finishing touches - such as a bottle of wine and chocolates upon arrival, a pint of milk in the fridge and the fluffy robes - made it even more special.
Longnor is a small but beautiful village with everything you need within close proximity plus the views and walks around are perfect for those wanting to get some fresh air!
Would definitely recommend Jack's Cottage!
Excellent cottage in nice village
We had a very nice stay in Longnor and around
home from home
we loved staying for the few days, so quiet, I did love the church bells ringing a t 0600 hrs on a Saturday morning, it was so quiet, bad side of the area is going to the cheddar pub, felt so unwelcomed, don't waste you time, in the next couple of weeks a nice place is opening for eating, spoke to the owner made us fell welcomed, we would like to thank the owner's for a fab time, clean, tidy, old and modern, Glen & Jackie
Hello Glen and Jackie!
Delighted you enjoyed Jack's Cottage, but really sorry to hear you did not receive a warm welcome at the Cheshire Cheese pub in the village. I will add this information to the Welcome Folder to avoid disappointment for future guests, together with the imminent opening of an exciting new restaurant in the village 'The Merchant's House Kitchen' adjacent to The Grapes - the owners of which are great guys and as you say, so very welcoming and friendly! Thank you for your 5* review! Mary.
East Midlands, Manchester and Birmingham airports are within 60 -90 minutes. Train station at Buxton. Local bus services.
Buxton with its Opera House and Georgian Crescent is 7 miles away, and the market towns of Bakewell, Ashbourne and Leek are all within 35 minutes drive.
