The house is fully restored; there is a large grange (barn) and good parking. The house is situated on 76 acres of private land up a long drive, well clear from any public roads. There is masses of space for children to run around, and in the summer, the blackberries and damsons are abundant. The house has 6 bedrooms over 4 storeys, and sleeps 15 in all officially, 2 of which are on a pullout daybed in the playroom. If needed, there is room in the playroom for more children to 'camp'. The pool, which has a lovely view over the valley, has a security approved cover and is also fenced for good measure. This house is done to a very high standard and is essentially our main 'home', even if we are abroad for now. It stands alone and on its own farm, which is all yours to explore while you stay. We spent four years renovating Sebirol with much love and attention. The house finished to a very high standard and is our main 'home', containing most of our more personal possessions, although we are currently overseas.
Why Sebirol chose Sauveterre
We originally bought with the intention of holidaying and eventually living here. The area appealed to us because it was just outside of the much more touristy areas close by in all directions. Time seems to stand that bit stiller here.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Sebirol is close enough to so much so as not to be secluded. It is also, however, far enough away and its situation is such as to be very peaceful and very private. Please see our other pages for a more personal look.

Get away from it all in this beautiful home set in the rolling hills of the mid-Pyrenees. Comfortable and spacious. Many ancient villages to explore in the area. Some of the best wine in France find here too!
Both the Atlantic coast (ex. Biarritz) and the Mediterranean coast (ex. Perpignan) are around three to four hours drive, depending on seasonal traffic.
The house is situated 1.15 hrs drive from Toulouse airport and nearly the same on a good day from Bergerac, although that’s not a motorway journey and can take longer. Another option is Carcassone, which is 2.15 hrs. That should give you options for all the carriers. Car hire is recommended.
Cahors (30km); nearest town is either Lauzerte or Castelnau Montratier (both 10kms).
Also 2 plans d'eau: Montquc (12km) and Montaigu de Quercy (c.20km). Also a fun water slide and large swimming pool at Castelnau Montratier (there is a bigger one in Cahors).
Golf des Roucous (5km) There are prehistoric caves nearby and further afield. River activities similarly.
There are lots of local markets around, Cahors is excellent, beautiful fresh produce.
Also 2 plans d'eau - lakes with sandy beaches - fun for the kids: one at Montquc (12km) and the other at Montaigu de Quercy (around 20km). Also a fun water slide and large swimming pool at Castelnau Montratier (there is a bigger one in Cahors).
There are prehistoric caves nearby; further afield there are other, perhaps the most famous one of which about 1.5hrs away in the northern Dordogne - 'Gouffre de Padirac', which is well worth a visit.
There is also kayaking, hiking, boat trips in the beautiful Lot and Aveyron valleys, and the whole region is full of lovely, old, old villages and towns including St Cirq Lapopie, the old part of Cahors, Lauzerte, Montquc, Tournon D’Agenais, to name just a few. It’s really a question of how far afield you want to go; the beautiful but touristy Dordogne is quite reachable.
Castelnau has a good tourist office to guide you with the activities. Of course if you take the house we'd be very happy to give you info … especially on the foodie side! This is not the place to go if you are on a diet; the food and drink is the other main reason to be here. It’s France, remember.
